Mahalo for watching! We are frequently asked what our favorite hotel is in Waikiki and Oahu, in general. That is an easy one, The Royal Hawaiian. Erica is very excited to give you a tour.
I just love your RUclips channel. We are going to be in Maui in late August early September for my birthday. I found you looking for tips when traveling to Maui but what made me subscribe was that your son is about the same age as my son. Seeing you do certain activities gives me confidence to do that with my little one. All your videos tend to be well focused on family travel with the occasional sprinkles of info for those without kids. I found that refreshing in comparison with other travel RUclipsrs who often are much younger and have a lot less ideas to offer to families with small children. Thank you!
As for many ,for me the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki is the best place in the world ! I love this place . It can get pricy for Christmas season and the New Year. but it is totally worth it ! We celebrated many New Years and Christmas Holidays in this beautiful and special place. We even experienced the make over of the Royal Hawaiian . Honestly, we preferred when everything was pink in the Pink Palace . From towels , sheets, soaps to carpets, you name it . Our favorite room is in the old wing on the top floor overlooking the beach . You can hear the musicians from the bar playing Hawaiian music in the evening . ,The waves crashing on the beach put you gently to sleep. Simply ,you feel you are in the paradise ! If you staying for week and longer I would recommend to visit Honolulu's Botanical Garden and definitely Lanikai Beach that was voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel was open on February 1, 1927 which doesn't make the Royal Hawaiian the first hotel in Waikiki as the Moana Hotel short walking distance from the Royal Hawaiian was open in 1901. Both, the Moana and the Royal Hawaiian hotels have very interesting history . Enjoy your stay in Waikiki and Honolulu wherever you will be staying .
Having stayed at both places the other being the Outrigger Reef I would take the Reef over the RH.. The Pool is a joke at the RH for the money you pay there. The Outrigger Reef rooms just updated are really nice.. One thing I will give the RH is their Mai Tai bar does make the best Mai Tai! Keep up the good work on the videos they are very informative!
Agreed! We've been staying at the Royal for 20 years now. We love coming back. Enjoy the Mai Tai Bar and have spent many afternoons there enjoying their tropical drinks. The staff there are just wonderful. Going back (finally) in August and again in September....maybe even again in October! Thanks for the great video!
Wow, that’s a lot of trips this year. Good for you! The hotel has such a welcoming feeling. A little oasis in hectic Waikiki. We will head back too but probably this winter
We stayed here in May and absolutely loved it! The service was great! Also, the location is central to everything in Waikiki and it was get to other parts of the island from here. We'd definitely stay here again.
I’ve been watching and rewatching your videos and will be in Oahu next month! I booked the Royal Hawaiian for a few nights but now I cant decide if we should move to the Ritz Carlton. A lot of RH reviews mention rooms being in major need of a upgrade and being dirty. We will be at Aulani after the Waikiki stay but wonder if we will miss the beachfront location if we switch to the Ritz. I don’t need super fancy but I do want clean 😄.
That is a tough one! We have always had great rooms at the RH and we do love the location more than the Ritz. See what room you get and asked to get moved if not up to your standards?
My family stayed here and for us it was wonderful. It is for those who like nostalgic or historical places. Where else in the world can you stay in a Royal, Moorish, Pink Palace on an ocean.
I wish I could get in contact with you two and talk about the trip I'll be taking next May! I'd love to get more in depth details! The island that I've researched the most and am most fascinated by is Kauai.. I hope to hear from you soon! 👍👍
Thanks! We give more in depth information on our website, especially our free and $27 itineraries. Our itineraries give you all the info you need for planning a trip! thehawaiivacationguide.com/
It depends where you are from. July and August are the hottest months with the highest humidity. If you are from Houston, it is no big deal. If you are from the midwest or California, it can be tough for some. I think the tropics are perfect all the time. Lots of A/C in the hotels and restaurants to cool you off!
Let me help you. You want an outrageous hotel on the sand with out people from kansas asking the waiter for apple butter it's the kaimana beach hotel with it own beach lf you go you will thank me!
ouch! crazy high prices right now for hotel rooms across the islands due to the high demand. Come on out in the shoulder season for better deals! We hope! Four Seasons on Maui is asking $1500 to $3000 night this summer.

My grandpa started going there when he was in military in wwii fast forward to today we still go there as a family
Very interesting video. Nice to know that wee Henry appreciates this historic property 👍

Your family is beautiful and the experiences you include all of us in are magnificent 🙏❤️🙏
Thank you! I hope you have started packing up for the big move! Such a process.

Staying there in two and a half months!!!! So excited!!!
Well done guy’s, another great video 👍👍👍 Keep up the great work 👍😎🇨🇦❤️
Ooh I love the Royal Hawaiian too. 😍I stayed there the first time I was om Hawaii. But it is so expensive, especially the tower,…. 😢
Agree with all of your points. Such a beautiful hotel located on the best strip of beach in Waikiki. We can’t wait to go back. ❤
I like to go there for 4 days, Aulani for 4 days in Oahu and then Maui for 6 days!🥰🌴🌊
Erica, thanks for another great recommendation. We are visiting next week. Mahalo!!🌺🌺🌺

Great job Erica. I’m strongly considering
staying at this hotel w/ my fiancé when we finally get here.
We love it! Enjoy your Hawaii trip planning!

Nice review of this fine hotel! I photographed quite a few weddings there when I lived on Oahu. I hope you're doing well.
I hope you are doing well too Ken! I bet those pictures were great. A beautiful spot for a wedding
I love this property, a great place to redeem Marriott Suite Night Awards.
Good point! Excellent way to redeem points.
We stayed here in May and absolutely loved it! The service was great! Also, the location is central to everything in Waikiki and it was get to other parts of the island from here. We'd definitely stay here again.
Hello! Thanks for the video! Do you have to rent the beach umbrellas and chairs in front of the hotel? Or is that included with stay?
It is included with your stay, part of your resort fee.
We went in March and last month, loved it so much we're going back in October! Lol this time we're staying at The Royal Hawaiian 😁
😂 have a great trip in October. The Royal won’t be a bad choice!

@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide good idea! The ritz looks amazing but I do like the idea of being on the beach and among more activity 😀
I think i would prefer the historic part of the hotel. Maybe someday i will get there.
Thanks for the video 👍🙋♀️🌍

You sum it up well.
Moana Hotel was awesome
None can compare to the Fourseasons but I love the historical history of that hotel but that would be the only thing I would stay there lol
When staying at the royal hawaiian do youbget access to the adult infinity pool at the sherraton?
No, only the kids pool at the Sheraton per our understanding and last stay there
You guys are so informative! I’ve learnt a lot watching your videos. Thank you :)
Talking about that I’m going to Hawaii to!!!
Some people have all the luck!! YES I'm JEALOUS!!!!

Are the restaurants all inclusive
Hawaii resorts aren’t all inclusive. You can get vacation packages that may include meals.
what about the humidity now in July ?

Question did they say it was closing
Thanks for watching. It’s not closing. Just celebrated its 94th anniversary
Because you highly recommend this hotel we actually booked it for 8 days!! And yes, I love the rustic look of the room and the whole hotel!
That means a lot! You will have a wonderful time.
Let me help you. You want an outrageous hotel on the sand with out people from kansas asking the waiter for apple butter it's the kaimana beach hotel with it own beach lf you go you will thank me!
How do you afford it???
It's their job to review it, this is the point of having a YT channel. Not a bad way to make a living :)
Agree 100%..... wouldn't stay anywhere else in waikiki
it is expensive but such a great place! I'm glad you agree! we're staying at the Halepuna on our next trip, stay tuned for a tour
Whew king ocean view is 3x the price of Queen Kapiolani. Too rich for our blood. Over $900/night Canadian!
ouch! crazy high prices right now for hotel rooms across the islands due to the high demand. Come on out in the shoulder season for better deals! We hope! Four Seasons on Maui is asking $1500 to $3000 night this summer.
I’d be a great baby sitter
