Great video as always. 2 questions a little off topic. First, we’ll be there in September, staying pretty close to the recent flooding in Maui. Should we be concerned about the flooding? Second, do you two see many chameleons while you’re out and about? Thanks.
Kihei has been getting flooding so make sure your rental or hotel isn't impacted. It can also cause traffic problems if they close South Kihei Rd. You'll be fine in September as that is still the dry season, the end of it. We have never crossed path with a chameleon during our travels.
Just got home early this morning from Oahu & Maui! Boy, I didn’t want to leave!! We snorkeled in Maui! So much fun! We used your guides for Oahu & Maui! I can’t thank you enough for making such wonderful guides! Our first trip was a success!! Hopefully we will be back again sometime it’s just so far to fly from the east coast!!
@@raulmedina6223 Weather was good for us in Maui. Only problem with weather we had was the day we went to Pearl Harbor and it came a major lightning storm so we didn’t get to ride the boat out to the AZ so was bummed about that! It got windy at the end of the week in Maui but it didn’t stop us from doing what we wanted to do!
Hi Jordan and Erica! Thank you for the recommendation for the Ko Olina Catamaran Sail. My husband and I went on the midday tour and had a fabulous time. The crew was extremely nice and helpful. I felt a little nervous but the crew made me feel very comfortable. The boat was extremely clean and had the perfect amount of seating inside the catamaran and outside on the deck. We mentioned to the crew that we got a referral from HVG!
This is exactly what I needed . I went on a snorkel trip to turtle bay and I'm a terrible swimmer. I was given a "noodle" and still felt unsafe. After 3 mins in I decided I'll just wait on the boat til everyone's done. If I had a real life jacket I would've enjoyed it 100x more. Well. Next time I guess! Great video
I love Hawaii! Mostly because of the snorkeling and marine life. I have seen dolphins, turtles, an eagle ray, an eel, and so many fish. Hoping to come back someday in winter to see the whales!
I have been watching your videos for a few weeks now as I am planning my trip to Oahu in a couple of weeks, April 14-22. I will be working from Oahu + sightseeing. Thank you for the recommendation of Discount Car Rental, I found better price than Costco through this rental, wouldn't have known if I had not watched your videos. I have also booked a day trip right after I arrive through your recommendation - Grand Circle Island tour. W.r.t snorkeling I saw in your other videos that North Shore has great spots for snorkeling. Which one would you recommend more - snorkeling tours in North Shore or in Ko'olina? I am slightly considering to purchase your Oahu vacation guide. Thank you so much for all you do to educate and share the Hawaiian glories.
Aloha, we like the snorkel tour we featured in this video as it is a great place to snorkel and good year round. North Shore can get big swells in the winter. You can explore our Oahu snorkel article for more places to go: thehawaiivacationguide.com/best-snorkeling-spots-on-oahu/ Thanks for watching and have a great trip!
we did one from Haleiwa 12 years ago. It was memorable but I get sick in the cage so take motion sickness pills. They chum the water which we didn't like. I don't remember who we went with though!
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide thank you. I chose not to do a shark cage dive this time because I get sea sick even with the medicines and I am not comfortable jumping into the cage. It seemed scary.
Another great video. Unfortunately for us it came 3 weeks too late. We stayed at the Marriott in Ko Olina. Great part of the island more like Hawaii than staying wai kiki . We did a down town snorkeling tour.
sure do! local rental shops carry kid gear. We have our son using the one listed in our travel gear section: thehawaiivacationguide.com/hawaii-travel-gear/
Love it guys! By chance what is the snorkeling like at Turtle Canyon (Waikiki) thinking to book that for our June trip but suspect it will be quite busy.
We have been but have researched it. People like it and it is sure convenient. I bet it gets busy out there but it is also a big ocean! For the price and the location, it sounds like a good option for snorkeling.

I love swimming and paddle boarding with turtles 🐢. Best thing to do in Hawaii.❤️

Definitely seeing the little boy made me more confident 😅😅😅🫠
Hey love your videos I am visiting Oahu with girl friend and son in August and your videos have been such a big help!!!

How was the weather in Maui? We are heading out there March 1st but the current weather is making me rethink our dates and moving it up to summer

I hope you can do this tour! Yeah, a noodle isn’t the same. Thanks for watching!
I went snorkeling in Maui and when I got in the water it was very nice!
Wdym about how is nice?
Thank you for sharing! I was researching this place and you have convinced me to do it!
Glad to hear it! Enjoy your snorkel trip!
Looks amazing! You have such a perfect little family❤
we have fun! thanks for watching!

nice! we have never seen a eagle ray but we've seen all the type of dolphin species that visit and live near the islands.
We love you guys.❤️🤗
How friendly is this snorkeling for first-timers (me, my wife, and our daughters, 4 and 8)?
How salty is the water? And does the saltiness vary from island to island? Visiting Maui and want to snorkel there, not sure how salty the water is.
the salt level doesn't change per island, it is all part of the big, tropical Pacific Ocean. If there is a difference, we can't tell.
We are heading to Maui March 1st and the current weather is making me rethink our dates 😮 hope the weather gets better, thanks for the great content
Yes! the islands need the rain but wow. It has been wet. We are rethinking our trip too for next week.
Where did you get hot sun hat Jordan? I’ve been trying to find my husband one just like that! Thanks so much for another helpful video you guys! ❤
excuse the late reply. It is a Quicksilver hat. It is surprisingly hard to find the right sun hat. Thanks for watching, as always.

@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide - thank you so much for your response. Any thoughts about Shark Cage dives in the North Shore. Do you have any input on this?

Do you have snorkel gear recommendations for the kiddos?
sure do! local rental shops carry kid gear. We have our son using the one listed in our travel gear section: thehawaiivacationguide.com/hawaii-travel-gear/
Is it a good place to snorkel for beginners?
With the crew it is! Floaties are available, have fun!
Love to snorkel but do not lije wearing those float jackets. Is that mandatory???
No they weren’t. I wore one with Henry and took it off later
Where would you guys recommend for night manta ray tour?
Here are our favorite tour providers: thehawaiivacationguide.com/best-manta-ray-night-snorkel-kona/
Thanks for asking and for subscribing!!

Can we snorkel if we don’t know how to swim?
I'm afraid not. They provide floations but they expect swimmers to go snorkeling
How Many SEA TURTLES did you see?!
We saw turtles and dolphins from the boat but didn’t see them in the water with us on this trip.
Do people get sea sick on that boat?
No one on our tour but it can happen. If your prone, take the medicine the night before.
first!!!!!
first!!!
