- this scene literally gave me chills. Viola Davis as Annalise Keating goes after the high powered Truco who - after this outburst in court - is the main suspect in the killing of a woman.
AMAZING acting!!!

"How to get an Emmy in 1 minute"
Less than a minute.
The sequel to "How to Get An Oscar Nom in 7 Minutes."
She may have lost that case, but she won that
@@rogueryder3285 she won this case, what’re you talking about
@@rogueryder3285 she won lol
This. THIS is what won her the Emmy.
I actually think it's the wig scene
no it's not this scene
@@sestraanna9156?
Sestra Anna wdym?
The wig scene; when she took the wig and make up off. I think it was just before she asked Sam about the photos on Lila’s phone (I may be wrong but I think it was season 2).
Not only were her lines brilliantly executed, but the moment she stopped speaking and just stared him down with laser precision waiting for him spontaneously combust. This scene alone-- the writing, the cinematography, the multilayered social commentary all carried by Viola's indelible performance, exemplifies why she won that Emmy.

This comment expanded my vocabulary significantly.
“Waiting for him to spontaneously combust” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The chilling part of the speech is at 0:54 when she described the exact problem with corruption and greed: lack of humanity. Sometimes, a TV show has to show the dire realities of the world.
Too much humanity is more like it
thats literally the point of tv shows lmao
i felt guilty after that... i dont know why... i was like: YES I DID IT...
Lol
looollll i was scrolling comments and died when i read urs🙈🤣😅
This comment just took me out!!! 😂

she is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, with or w/o makeup

She's such a powerful actreess OMG
*How to get away with an Emmy.*
When I see her acting I feel like jumping, yelling, crying, smiling, all at the same time in a real mix of feelings, emotions. Viola playing Annalise is something beyond our ability to put it into words. It gives me chills all over, got goosebumps. She's not only an actress and Annalise is not only a character, I call it FORCE OF NATURE!
There simply aren’t enough awards to encompass the talent of this woman. She stands in a league of her own.
You watch this scene and the rest of the episodes from HTGAWM,you will know why and how Viola Davis won that award. She MADE this scene!
One can only dream of being half as cool as she is! She's amazing!
Too true!
My god, this makes me so tense.
Eduardo Manrique yea my balls are sweating
Viola Davis won a freaking Emmy y'all! No doubt one of these scenes sealed the deal!
VIOLA DAVIS is a Fuckin EMMY WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who Pooted!? not yet, but she WILL be! =)
Who Pooted!? she's been nominated twice, but no wins yet. and yeah I can see that, it'll be like "okay Viola won an oscar AGAIN!!" LOL!! she's just that good though.
SHE DID WIN
and oscar, tony e golden globe too
d1esel6er 100% deserved
the entire scene and everyone 's acting is just pure genius, the judge banging and calling in the background, the opposing counsel in the background calling your honor.
When I watched this I kid you not I was jumping up and down screaming “Yes yesss” especially being a law student and seeing this powerful scene makes me work harder to be able to come this hard in a court room one day regardless if it’s a tv show or not
Viola Davis; not only an inspiring actress but inspiring legal professionals in their careers too.
Good luck brother
This is not how real court goes at all.
ANNALISE KEATING: "In other words, Senator, I am not the one."
🗣 OR THE TWO!!
I just love Viola Davis. She rocks!!
*****
Well both Scandal and HTGAWM are shows at par excellenc, from Shonda Rhimes. Powerpack performance by Annalise Keating(Viola Davis) & Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) both best in respectiv roles. Infact in 2012 Olivia's character was listes #2 most powerful fictional charactr by Time Magazine !
4 and a half seasons I'm still coming back to this! SO GOOD
i repeated this video 20 times and i do not regret it
THIS GIVES ME LIFE. I love you, Viola Davis.
viola davis is amazing especially in scenes like this her performance amazes me
She’s such a good actress, she’s definitely one of my favorite actresses of all time
She is an incredible actress.
You'd actually think that she was a lawyer
Yes so true
YAS 😂
I binged the first 2 seasons of this show about 2weeks ago for the first time currently I am half way through season 3 and my oh my can I just say WOW. Viola Davis is a force to be reckoned with. 🙌🙌
.....from the episode that made her a history-making Emmy winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Viola's character Annalise speaks so much truth in this one scene that it is mind-boggling. We live in a world where the rich and powerful prey off the poor and underprivileged. This politician whose sins she so brilliantly puts on display is like many real world politicians who fatten their pockets with blood money stolen from those who labored and sacrificed for the very freedoms, rights, and privileges that we are all afforded.
It's by far one of her best case in the show. Can't wait for season 2!
THIS! Once in a while I come and re watch this, becouse why not?
Sameeee
I remember this oh too well! Still gives me chills! Brilliant!
That Emmy deserve for her performance
One of the most powerful scenes in the history of television.
Realized that this scene made me leave my job in property management! My boss had been practicing similar shady methods, then openly made nasty comments about prospective tenants he deemed undesirable, and expected me to just nod my head and agree. Thank you to the writers, the acting talent of Viola Davis and the power of Annalise Keating for bringing these issues to light!
I've never seen this show but Viola's acting here gives me, chills, *CHILLS!!* Wow.
The scene that won an Emmy.
This scene right here....gives me chills and has my heart palpitating.
Which season and episode was it
Chills. Every time. I've never seen her before this but watching this show has made me a Violisser
That's what real acting looks like 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I’d cry all over again just to watch this show again
Love Viola Davis…even more after reading her book.
The very same words that will eventually be directed at Trump one day.
I hope you are not a HIllary supporter, because as it stands she needs to be a little bit closer to the edge of the stick..
Jacob Amador I don't support either.
You do appear to be leaning a bit then. Not to say either of them are particularly innocent, but Hillary has murders happening around her currently.
Jacob Amador Trump is every bit as corrupt as Hillary.
What murders were currently around her six months ago when you posted this? I'm not a Hillary supporter, btw, I just would like to see solid evidence backing your comment up.
Spectra Light amen to that!!!
The judge yelling in the back 😂😂😂"ms. Keating!!!!!"
god i’m so in awe of her. she’s such an amazing actress.
Annalise: you developed the land at Penn’s landing into what is now Trucco Plaza. Is this correct?
Senator: Let’s see. I know this. You know this. The few million people annually that traffic the Plaza know this. Can we cut to the chase here? My constituents expect me to make the most of my time.
Annalise: I have a record of an injunction brought against your project by Trisha Stanley, advocating for the thousands of citizens living in low-income housing who would be displaced by your project.
Senator: Was there a question in there?
Your attorney struck down the injunction, and your project went forward unopposed. So my question is, senator Trucco, did you have Trisha Stanley murdered?
Senator: Are you out of your mind?
Senator’s lawyer: Your honour, this has gone on long enough.
Annalise: Did you convince your tenant Linda Morelli to testify that Trisha Stanley was killed by her boyfriend, David Allen?
Senator: You are way off base. I recommend you rein this in.
Annalise: Explain why your eviction suit against Miss Morelli was dropped despite her inability to pay rent.
Judge: Ms.Keating
Annalise: Is it because her lost rent money was nothing compared to the millions you made once miss Stanley was out of your way? Answer the question, senator.
Judge: Ms. Keating
Annalise: Why was Linda Morelli granted these concessions?
Judge: Ms.Keating, enough.
Senator: Chief Justice, I have extended great deference to the court by showing up here today. But I am not gonna put up with this any longer.
Annalise: I am sorry, senator, if you do not have the time to answer - for who bore the real cost of your development.
Senator’s lawyer: Objection
Annalise: just Trisha Stanley and her boyfriend, David Allen, - who served 21 years in prison
Senator: Your Honour, please!
Annalise: Not - But the thousands who were displaced in the name of lining your pockets. The majority of whom are poor, powerless, and didn’t bear the colour of skin desirable to your business interests.
Judge: That’s enough, Ms.Keating!
Annalise: You tore a community apart.
Judge: Ms. Keating, I want order!
Annalise: You tore families apart. You destroyed lives, senator. Admit it.
Judge: Ms. Keating.
Annalise: Admit you killed Trisha Stanley and had my client, David Allen, set up for her murder.
Judge: That is enough! Do you hear me? You say another word, and I’ll have no choice but to throw you in jail.
Thank u
This scene is so memorable. Whenever I think of HTGAWM, I always come back to this. Viola is a beast! Jst mind-blowing ❤️
Viola Davis is one of my favorite current actresses. She’s amazing.
I always have to think about the lawyer who represented me when I sued my ex husband for DA when I watch Viola Davis as a lawyer in HTGAWM, she gave me the same vibes everytime and pushed me to recover from PTSD and to regain my confidence and life back, I didnt have to be present during trials but she encouraged me to by saying "show him you arent afraid of him anymore, look him right in the eye with your angriest face and I'll do the rest", she screamed at my ex just like that during trial, I saw him shivering and crying in front of a woman for the first time ever, speechless, a man known for his aggressive behaviour who terrorized me and other people as well, she shredded his narc confidence to lil tiny pieces, forever!
The jury let her drag the senator As a jury I would’ve done the same I would let the queen let them bitches have it, this a legendary performance 😭😍 If I ever meet viola is fainttttt this lady is a whole masterpiece there’s no one role she ever played that she didn’t have me chills for, now that’s star quality right there 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😍
I really miss this show.
it’s quiet ain’t no back talk 💅🏼
One of the BEST SCENES in season one !
She enjoyed every bit of this character. You can see it was deep all the way . That's talent , she's amazing.
My lordt i thought i was on the stand 😂 .. she kills every role she does
I am so in love with this lady, she's a beast on screen and such a sweet humble soul in real life. I just love her 🥰
That judge was irritatingly funny especially when he said you hear me 😂😂
This show should’ve had a movie
This will be her preview clip when they announce her at the Golden Globes AND Emmy's.
really? that would be awesome!!
and now she won
Thank you for uploading....life goals!!!!
The Judge yelling the background to no avail is just hilarious. 😂
I remember this brilliant scene like yesterday. There is none like queen Viola,NONE!!!
This is why Viola was hired by the hunger games team 😌
This scene gave me chills
F**King LEGEND ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ And whats so crazy is how hard I cried when the guy she represented was freed 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Annalise is one of my favorite characters ever because Viola is such a good actress I can't
This made me feel like i wanna be an actress
Lol some strong parallels between him and Trump. Love this show. Pure genius.
I don't "support" either. However, I'm not going to waste my vote so I'm going to vote for Hillary. She's less corrupt and prejudice. Trump is pure evil and I'll be damned before I vote for him.
Damien Harris
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.
No I’m not laughing about Trump winning, I’m laughing at your utter obliviousness that involves murder (oh wait, I mean suicide from the back of the head).
Not to mention Hillary was proven to rig the primary.
“How to Get Away with Stealing The Emmy’s”
Seriously. Who TF was gonna compete with this scene? Amazing.
Literally every scene In this show is grammy winning
This is going to make me go back and stream from S1. AK was a beast in the court room❤️🔥
man i come here every day to watch this clip, she is amazing😭😭❤
Viola. I have to say that you are the most AMAZING actress that i've known
Number 1 Favorite scene of the season, second to this are the moments when Connor sings jingle bells and says my two favorite quotes, "Let's get to scooping!" And "Smile, or go to jail!"
《How to get all people agreed on her talent in 1 mn》
0:30 Wes, Laural and Michaellas expression
2020 and Damn i still cant breath watch this scene
Which season and episode is that? NEED TO WATCHING THE WHOLE EPISODE AGAIN
I found myself holding my breath at the end of the clip
She could easily defeat thanos
She would’ve been held in contempt like 30 seconds into that speech
So I initially watched this scene without any contextual understanding of the show. That was f**king tense! Seriously, I've ran out of superlatives to describe her acting!!!
She is one hell of a lawyer😂😂😂
Damn, this gives me goosebumps!!!
Damn! I felt like I was gonna piss my pants. Imagine being in that courtroom face to face with AK.😳
Does anyone know the music played during this scene ? I’ve been searching for so long and I can’t find what it is
what's the name of the background song?
Viola Davis is the kind of woman we all need💖💖💖
the soundtrack ?
The lawyer had me dying. Mrs Keating!!!! Mrs Keating!!!!!
She's phenomenal 🔥🔥🔥
This role was made for Viola Davis and Viola Davis alone. Periodt!!!
I CRAZY LOVE THIS WOMAN. VIOLA, YOU ARE THE BEST!
It was breathtaking this scene..
