The sound this bike makes while idle/slow speed is just gorgeous.

personally ive found with my classic 350, that the engine only got better through time. So if anyone has concerns with speed with their new bike that has the j-series. I'd say wait until about 1,000km and then you'll get the real feel of the engine. Far better responsiveness, torque, and acceleration. As well as less vibrations :)

Definitely agree with that...they get better the more miles you put on them

A lot of bikes are like that but maybe the singles are affected more. I have found that most bikes get a lot better after about 5000 miles. When I have mentioned this to dealers they totally agree.
      So much for buying new!

And you can ride them in all weathers without it or you getting coated in road dirt, with those lovely long mudguards. I love the twin riding lights in the nacelle too, just like the original bullet. Looks like a great practical bike for those who want a real-world machine and aren't in too much of a hurry, espcially to empty their bank accounts with the low price and great economy . Great review Mark. Realistic and to the point.

This might complement the other 350s if they price it right. I suggest pricing it about US$2-400 less than that of the Classic. I MIGHT suggest that if RE is going to continue selling the Classic as a 350, they might want to sell only the chrome version and let the Bullet be an entry-level model.

It’s simple. The Bullet is iconic in India, the real market for Royal Enfield. They released the other models in other markets because they knew we would love them. The home market was whining about everything! But they did prove themselves as reliable and low cost to buy and operate. The core customers wanted a Bullet! When they finally released it they went crazy in India! That’s why they did it. They proved themselves to the rest of the world before unleashing the Bullet to India. Few people outside of India will lust after this as their first choice.

There is fan following especially for this black with stripes model in India plus RE gets bragging rights for longest ever continuous production bike. it is just classic with few changes but makes commercial and marketing sense

As far as retros go, this is a beautiful machine but a rather tough sell over something like a Kawasaki 650RS, I think the latter can definitely justify the not-too-big price difference on performance and quality alone and it also has the looks and really low weight for a twin.
Comes down to personal preference and I do have a soft spot for the torque of a single and the look of an air cooled.
I'm just glad the motorcycle world offers these choices, I have lost the love for cars after 49 years as progress and technology have killed the driving pleasure completely.

    Dear Mark,
Many thanks for your video. I have also watched several others, and have found them to be really enjoyable.
I might be in the market for one of these, but, if I do go ahead, I would very much like to take it across to the Continent for a week or two.
Baring in mind what I've just said, do you honestly feel - in your motorcycling experience - that the little Bullet 350 would be able to cope with sustained motorway/French highway speeds, for three or four hundred mile days, over two weeks at a time?
I know that you touched on this in the video, I'd just like you to possibly put my mind at rest.
Many thanks in advance for your time and efforts,
    Warmest regards,
    Neil (the Midlands).

Height Neil personally myself I would say a no to that even though the bullet will do a top speed of 70 miles an hour you can take it on motorways for say 10 20 miles I I wouldn't want to be taking it on 300 mile days over France that's just my personal opinion it can be done but it would be heavy going so to speak if you catch my drift the bullet classic meteor of more suited to 50 60 miles an hour quite country roads with the occasional motorway trip not saying that can't be done but it would be just a little bit heavy going you'll be better off we're getting something like minimum power 40 to 47 horsepower bike for that sort of trip to make doing 70 miles an hour more relaxing hope that helps any other questions please feel free to ask best wishes Mark

Hi, Mark. Many thanks for your prompt reply. Another bike I was looking at was the Triumph Bonneville T100 - do you think that would be more suited for the sort of riding I want to do? It's still got that beautiful classic 'old world' appeal, but has a bit more grunt. Thanks again for your time. N@@markpulling12

Their prices are getting interesting, nearly £1,000 more than the Hunter? That's starting to look expensive for a basic air cooled bike with only a little over 20bhp.

Speed limiter is a deal breaker for me. I will not buy one. You will simply get run over on the free ways here in America. And you can't take any real trips without being on free ways at times. No deal RE. Listen up. Bring back the 500. Thanks for another great video.

@markpulling12 this reminds me of British Leyland with cars(mini &1100) produced as either Austin, Morris, Riley or Wolseley. The only difference was badging and different grilles. The Bullet is so similar to the classic and I think the price difference is down to MotoGB not having stocks to get rid of like the Classic and Meteor. This one will be distributed by RE. I think the Bullet will sell well in its home market as the name is treated with affection. It wouldbe interesting to know how many Classie 500s were sold vs the standard Bullet when both were available in the UK. I feel RE should have produced a "hot" version of the 350 for export giving it a bit more poke for safer overtakes and to compete with the new Triumph 400s coming onto the market. Triumph have priced the 400s very keenly starting at £4999 so there is virtually no difference in price between the Bullet and Triumph.

Much like the classic really, don't like all that matt black. As on the classic those big mudguards are very good on the wet mucky uk roads. Speedo often sticks on the classic and is 5mph high at 70 mph so i suspect the same on the bullet.

Another nice 350, they are just competing with themselves at this point. The price on this does seem high though. Compared to what MotoGB are selling the Meteor, classic and hunter’s for this is expensive. My local dealer In2moto are selling all of the ones I’ve mentioned for as little as £3700 so I don’t see why you would buy one of these instead. Nice but only as nice as the others which are cheaper.

Royal Enfield is carried away on pricing. Way too much for what it is. Almost the same price as the new baby Triumph which has twice the power.
In other words you can get a second hand 1/1.5 year old Meteor with minimal milage for half of the list price of this, as they don't hold their value.
As a Meteor owner I have 2 complaints:
    1. Service schedule of the 350s is way too short and expensive. Valve clearance is every 6k, and every 6 months is inspection. You are looking at annual servicing cost of £400-450 if you want to keep the warranty.
    2. Royal Enfield customer service is rubbish.
