  • Thanks for clicking on QuickTech.
    In this video we show you how to clean an airbrush between colors. It is important to make sure your airbrush’s color cup is clean before changing colors. This is especially true when switching between colors that are on the opposite side of the color wheel, like yellow and violet.
    If you are spraying a color with a high pigment load like white, you may have to flush your color cup several times before you are ready to change over to the next color.
    Why QuickTech? There’s no shortage of how-tos and tutorials on the internet but airbrushers are still searching for solutions to common problems. That’s why Iwata created the QuickTech Experience. We’ve created videos that get right to the point so you can fix your problem and get back to painting. No intro to skip, no banter to mute, nothing to speed through. Just the content you came for from the most trusted name in airbrush. Be sure to subscribe to our channel so you don’t miss the next QuickTech release!

    Before disconnecting your airbrush from the air hose:
    1. Make sure your compressor is off.
    2. Then hold down the main lever to release any stored air.

    Ugg, this is how I started, 🥺.
    Faster to use bottle that sprays & H2O works just fine.
    Tilt over container, spray into cup till most dumps out. Fill cup, backwash, dump.
    I like to spend time painting NOT cleaning.
    It works & works well.

      We do not recommend using H2O to everyone because it will not work affectively with all paints, inks and makeups, even water base formulas. The cleaning solvent must be a appropriate to the specific material being sprayed. When in doubt, refer to the guidance given by the manufacturer of the specific paint, ink or makeup and / the airbrush manufacturer

    Hot tap water works quicker than all that cleaner.

      Don’t use hot water on your airbrush Very harmful for it

      @@Twinceramic how so? It was recommended in another airbrush tutorial? Rinses the paint out much quicker? What part is it harming? Please elaborate .

      @@Jodysfunstuff hot liquids can cause internal O-rings to swell. This can cause a host of performance problems in airbrushes and premature failure of the O-rings. While warm or cool water, used immediately, may work for some paints, it doesn't work well for most paints. Once the paint has "cured", water will flow right over it, allowing a slow or sometimes fast build up of hardened paint inside the nozzle. For these reasons, airbrush manufacturers will generally not recommend water alone. Thanks for watching!

      @iwatamedea1  Год назад +1

      That is called the Iwata Spray Out Pot. It is a handy little container that traps unused paint, cleaner and vapor inside, keeping your area cleaner. These can be found at any Iwata retailer. For a list of retailers visit our website at www.iwata-airbrush.com

    Wouldn’t that Iwata airbrush cleaner potentially mess with incoming acrylic paint, especially Vallejo?

    • @iwatamedea1
      @iwatamedea1  Год назад +1

      The airbrush cleaner: Medea Airbrush Cleaner is a general purpose cleaner that is very effective with most acrylic paints. Having said that, some paint manufacturer's recommend using their own cleaner that has been tested to be effective with their specific paint formula. Thank you for watching!
