I love Death’s intro. The way how he leaves his car and just casually kills the man who rudely bumped into him with a tap on the shoulder. It made me realise that this is someone you don’t want to trifle with...and Julian Richings was just amazing in this role.
And he takes more interest in if his coat has been dirtied than even watching the guy who bumped into keel over, just a perfect “oh, a bug touched me... am I dirty?”
And when you watch his first scene with Dean, you can tell that this is the first being he has ever encountered who has truly terrified him down to his core.
He's scared of him because he thinks it's impossible to kill. he knows everything else can be killed, but death? at this point he thinks he could die just by being in proximity to him.

i think horsemen shown in the series have a nice order:- 1)war when there is a war people lose everything including food resources 2)famine when people lose resources they starve and it leads to famine 3)pestilence when people starve they become weak and get affected by many diseases which is pestilence 4)death and ofcourse finally it leads to death

Not true. As long as life exists, Death will exist, and will never pass. The only problem I have with his depiction in Supernatural is the Scythe that he has. It looks strange.

I like Billie, but to me killing the original Death was a mistake on the writers part. I think they don't really know how to escalate with the villains and conflicts on the show... there was just something so chilling about having a being this old and powerful, who would reap God himself at the end of all things. killing him killed some of that mystery and horror.
I really liked the representation of death and all the reapers. That they aren't their to kill you but to help you accept death and lead you to the afterlife, not some mindless demon like in other depictions

I had the same convo with my brother. I mean the essential part on life is death, and without there wouldn't be life. At the end, dead can't be dead because dead is the end, and it's omipresent. Or you can't have one without the other, and even if you have the reapers, it's not the same as dead. I know, in the series he vanish into nothing, but it really doesn't make any sense to kill dead dead....
By far, THE BEST character entrance I have ever seen, bar none. The music, the setting, the white Caddy, the man himself, it was all flawless. Tip my hat to that.
I revisited this after a year of not watching Supernatural, and I gotta say, I literally got chills. Death has probably the best intro in the entire series, and his attitude throughout is amazing to say the least. I could on about every small detail I love about his character, and I would be talking for HOURS. I was also thoroughly disappointed when Billie became Death, it just didn't fit.
Oh man, I really did love the first death. He really portrayed his role well for as for this music. It fits it so well of the atmosphere, but it has bows and eerie yet, so haunting melody, a force that can't be stopped unless the person is Dean and Sam Winchester

Billie did okay, but she’ll never be better than OG Death. Man was small yet imposing, quiet yet commanding. He embodied this primordial entity that nothing could escape from. The actor deserves so much praise for bringing this character to life. It’s a masterpiece
A bacteria nearly murdered me and temporarily took my ability to walk. I haven't been the same since health wise. So I have a healthy respect for the little critters now. I suspect if one wanted to talk, I'd lend an ear. Considering one of those "bacteria" ends up killing Death, i'd say it would've behooved him to take them more seriously as well. :)
le krieg /julian has the perfect face for death he was on an elevator in texas one day at a comic-con this guy was freaked out by him so julian asked him if he was going down? the guy was scared to death of him he shook his head yes, so he pushed the button then asked julian what he did he said i'm death on and before another word the guy tried to get off the elevator faster. he is the perfect man for death. stephen king's kingdom hospital he played otto and was in all the episodes he is a great actor!
Whenever I see this scene with this song it sends shivers down my spine and makes me immediately respect him. It's like you can't, don't even dare to think about underestimating him even once. He just has an instantly to be respected, powerful and lofty vibe. I mean we see how very powerful God(Chuck) is, but his vibe never came ANYWHERE, not even close near Death for me! God looks like a baby next to him. But even despite that and the fact that he is very well aware of how powerful he is and doesn't hide it, but just slaps it in your face first thing first, he actually has a very nice personality in my opinion.
When Billy started singing this in the hallways I got WAY too excited. This is still one of the best musical moments in the show in my opinion. But now nothing will top Chuck's Farewell Song.

when people lose resources they starve and it leads to famine
3)pestilence
when people starve they become weak and get affected by many diseases which is pestilence

This, I think, perfectly describes just how Death sees this world before him. Indifferent. Uncaring. And passive to the things around him. Why? Because he was here long before we existed, and he will pass by long after we are gone.

Unlike the other Horsemen, who are clearly malicious, Death just does his job in the greater span of the cosmos, standing and existing above all the little mortals destined to meet him, and he knows it. Strong, weak, old, young, rich, poor... doesn't make a difference to mortality itself. If life isn't fair, then death is unfairly fair.
@@mrreyes5004 I think part of it is that the other horsemen cause suffering in those they touch. Death just... ends. War tears apart families. Famine leads to the slow suffer of starvation. Pestilence, well, Spanish Flu and polio. Death is a result, not an act.

Not true. As long as life exists, Death will exist, and will never pass. The only problem I have with his depiction in Supernatural is the Scythe that he has. It looks strange.

But then, when Dean meets him face to face, Death comes across having a chilled, "Business is business." Kinda attitude. 😍

I like Billie, but to me killing the original Death was a mistake on the writers part. I think they don't really know how to escalate with the villains and conflicts on the show... there was just something so chilling about having a being this old and powerful, who would reap God himself at the end of all things. killing him killed some of that mystery and horror.

I really liked the representation of death and all the reapers. That they aren't their to kill you but to help you accept death and lead you to the afterlife, not some mindless demon like in other depictions

The only other place with a Death character better developed would have to be Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

I had the same convo with my brother. I mean the essential part on life is death, and without there wouldn't be life. At the end, dead can't be dead because dead is the end, and it's omipresent. Or you can't have one without the other, and even if you have the reapers, it's not the same as dead. I know, in the series he vanish into nothing, but it really doesn't make any sense to kill dead dead....
By far, THE BEST character entrance I have ever seen, bar none. The music, the setting, the white Caddy, the man himself, it was all flawless. Tip my hat to that.

I revisited this after a year of not watching Supernatural, and I gotta say, I literally got chills. Death has probably the best intro in the entire series, and his attitude throughout is amazing to say the least. I could on about every small detail I love about his character, and I would be talking for HOURS. I was also thoroughly disappointed when Billie became Death, it just didn't fit.
Oh man, I really did love the first death. He really portrayed his role well for as for this music. It fits it so well of the atmosphere, but it has bows and eerie yet, so haunting melody, a force that can't be stopped unless the person is Dean and Sam Winchester

le krieg /julian has the perfect face for death he was on an elevator in texas one day at a comic-con this guy was freaked out by him so julian asked him if he was going down? the guy was scared to death of him he shook his head yes, so he pushed the button then asked julian what he did he said i'm death on and before another word the guy tried to get off the elevator faster. he is the perfect man for death. stephen king's kingdom hospital he played otto and was in all the episodes he is a great actor!
Whenever I see this scene with this song it sends shivers down my spine and makes me immediately respect him. It's like you can't, don't even dare to think about underestimating him even once. He just has an instantly to be respected, powerful and lofty vibe. I mean we see how very powerful God(Chuck) is, but his vibe never came ANYWHERE, not even close near Death for me! God looks like a baby next to him. But even despite that and the fact that he is very well aware of how powerful he is and doesn't hide it, but just slaps it in your face first thing first, he actually has a very nice personality in my opinion.

By far THE BEST Entrance of a character in ANY show! The song is AMAZING! Love the power, the composition! Jensen is always amazing and I feel the people who cast Supernatural do such a fantastic job from the actor for Death, for Lucifer, Crowley, all of them fit their roles perfectly!

agreed, his entrance and everything was so good, the way he like just touched his shoulder were the guy bumped into him and he dropped dead, one of the best characters but sadly didn’t have a lot of screentime, that’s one thing i don’t like about supernatural, they make good as hell characters like death, gabriel, and ect.. but they only give them a few episodes each like 3-4 seasons, still love supernatural though
