I'll never get over that such a sweet, intelligent, down to earth, humble yet super talented guy ended his life. I think ultimately he couldn't stand life in the spotlight, and increasingly in his later years he had less and less of any kind of private life - I think mainly because, horribly ironically, his wife seemed to revel being in the public eye - and he just wanted some normality and peace. Poor guy. He was wonderful.

I will never stop feeling grief for him and his family but no matter how intelligent and humble, talented and loved - depression is the ultimate leveler -I don't think at all it was stress and demands but simply the depression that if you have ever experienced and inherited that gene - you don't look at what you do have - you start to simply not want to exist. Hard to explain to anyone who hasn't suffered episodic endogenous major depression-

Agreed. His 2nd wife was/is a repulsive narcissist that was controlling beyond comprehension. She is manipulative. Materialistic. Cunning. Just wish people would delve more in to what it's like to live with a NARC personality. Chris trusted her and loved her until...he realized how awful she was. It spiraled out of control all in that last 1.5years together. I agree. He wanted peace & quiet. Like what his friends/bandmates back in Seattle managed to obtain- but how? Vicky had ZERO desire to live in Seattle or make amends with Chris' blood family. Chris felt stuck. That is a living Hell. Really sad story b/c he could of had it all...but Vicky wouldn't allow it. Classic Narc move.

Noted in passing. His hair looks a bit thinning on the crown of his head at 8:59 Also, I have noticed what looks like a comb-job to hide thinning hair in the Troubadour set. I’m skeptical about the “head gash” theory of his final, sad concert. Thinning hair plus stage lights. One thing is beyond theorizing, any casual listener of the final Detroit Show can see and hear that something was terribly off, as the sound engineer noted from the get-go. Such a loss to his family, friends, and fans. RIP.

Why/how could you do it, Chris? You seemed so happy, together, lucid, intelligent here. *F**** drugs.* They mess up the strongest, most solid, most talented, goal oriented people, turning them into self loathing, terrified, useless shells of themselves, with only ONE goal: getting more drugs. The tragedies of the Seattle scene will reverberate forever.
