    I don't get it, Warner is being unforgivably silly by recording concerts of mediocrities like Pati and not recording for posterity these unique, truly unsurpassed vocal wonders that Spyres shares so generously and brilliantly. Spyres' voice should be recorded all the time while he is in his prime. It is a crime not to perpetuate this voice. Maybe it's time for him to change his record label? Warner still can't release his album recorded almost 4 years ago, what a shame, they don't appreciate him, don't understand what a vocal miracle they have. Great that this concert was preserved thanks to you, Mr. Fischer, really priceless work. I hope they will come to their senses and start recording performances that deserve it.

      I am a bit puzzled by your post. Warner DID record this BariTenor programme for CD in 2020 and released it in 2021. It recently won "Best recital of the year" at the Opera Awards.
      Warner recently recorded two further solo recitals with Michael Spyres which will be released in spring 2023 and 2024.
      No other recital programme was recorded 4 years ago.

      @@hcleskov-fischer6033 oh, sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I was referring to video recordings capturing extremely mediocre concerts, but not recitals like this one. DG actively records video versions of Bernheim's concerts, Warner patronizes Pati's recital videos, Sony works for Kaufmann and so on. As for Michael's solo audio albums, according to Il pomo d'oro info the album Contratenor was recorded back in 2019 but will be released only in spring 2023. I'd drop a link for the source but RUclips deletes such things. It's on their website. As for his second studio project you mentioned, I know that he recorded it last fall with Rousset. I just wanted to say that if Warner really appreciates him, they would release an album every year, if not several, like Kaufman did with Decca for example. One could find a more artistically oriented label rather than a commercial one that would offer more artistic freedom and not be constrained by the regulations of publishing new albums and other administrative nonsense. Warner is certainly authoritative and powerful, but too pragmatic. Many singers release two albums a year on the same label, and Michael deserves that attention. Considering that he achieved everything on his own with his talent, rather than being just another marketing product. It's a matter of self-promotion not only artistic activity.

    I just heard him sing "Fuor del mar" (Idomeneo) . This singer is at the top of my list of favorite singers. Did he have a freaken cold during this? I see him dealing with his nose. And he was able to get through "Fuor del mar" (Idomeneo) . I wish I was a colourtura. I have no flexibility in my voice. I only dream of doing the runs he does in "Fuor del mar" . Such a unique voice. Thank you for posting this. It's a delight

    I am myself thinking to be a baritenor but why should I keep practicing (on my own) ? All I try to do, he does already and with the most perfect ease and beauty. The most impressing about it is that he can stay for long "in baritone" and then jump to 'tenor"without effort. This is so remarkable because it's not unlikely ( for brass instruments it's the same) that giving it all low gives some adaptation of the instrument so that later high notes are more difficult.

    Er hat einen riesigen Stimmumgang. Ich glaube ihm seine langjährigen.Stimmtrainings, um den Umfang zum Klingen zu bringen, überhaupt das zu erkennen und irgendwann es auch zu zeigen. Aber die Registerwechsel in Basstiefen würde ich ihm empfehlen zu vermeiden.

    The aria "Pour mon âme" is lowered by half a tone. Therefore Mr. Spyres does not sing nine high C but nine natural B. Shame on you!

    • @hcleskov-fischer6033
      @hcleskov-fischer6033  Год назад +10

      Oh dear. You really enjoy embarrassing yourself, don't you? If you could read, it is cleanly stated that the period orchestra plays in a=432 Hz, which is indeed less than a quarter step lower than the 440 or 442 Hz that modern orchestras tune to.
      Saying "shame on you" while being shameless in demonstrating one's ignorance is rather comically ironic.

    • @konradottingen7187
      @konradottingen7187 Год назад +2

      @@hcleskov-fischer6033 Anyway, Mr. Spyres doesn’t sing a high C.
      If it is true, as stated by you in the description, that the period orchestra plays in a=432 Hz, which I doubt, because according to my piano Mr. Spyres' C sounds like a natural B, Mr. Spyres is not a tenor, not even a baritone but, instead, a bass. His high notes are usually very stiff falsets. Nevertheless, when he tries to sing the high notes, in particular the C high, with a chest voice, he squeals like a chicken slit and trembles like a pudding.

      @@konradottingen7187 if you knew anything about physics or music you wouldn't write something so ludicrous.
      If Pavarotti sang that aria in 1970 in Berlin it would have been in a=448, if he had sung it in London (whichhe actually did), it would have been in a=440. So would you claim that in London he would not have sung a top C?
      I'm not going into the rest you wrote. You are of course entitled to your opinion. I just point our where you are factually wrong.

      In Donizetti's time, in Italy most orchestra were tuned to 432Hz, so this is actually what it might have sound her Donizetti wrote this.
