    Now I understand why I’ve been so drawn into certain movements in your compositions and pieces. I particularly enjoy the thematic, almost chaotic ones the most. I believe in 2022 I was in the top .1% of listeners, however this year while you were still my top artist- I twas not in your top listeners as I believe your discography was more calm and collected
    Thank you for that nugget of information. I’ve never studied music so I couldn’t ever articulate what I enjoyed most about your work :)

    Wow, your op.1 piano sonata and this exact motif are among my favorite pieces of music, no joke. Now it's even more touching to know that the melody is very personal to you.
    Was amazed to recognize the signature motif in other composition I'm familiar with, especially in my beloved Arno's Waltz, that was unexpected!
    Really looking forward to see the development of your other successful musical ideas!

    Joshua If you knew how much your video answers my questions when I try to understand the origin of some of your themes. It's make me happy even if I have a lot of questions about your amazing compositions 😅😂
    Chaotique (especially III) is, in my opinion, one of your most beautiful works, even if they all seem to come out of a dream 🤩🖤😊
    Your leitmotif is magnificently intense, with a personal story that some may have known, and seeing it deployed in this way in your works is a strong symbolism. The search for Your eggs has become my ultimate goal when a work appears😂, when I discover it I am so happy (but they are sometimes so well hidden, like a shadow, sometimes even only in the rhythm: these have a nickname 😂).
    My writings on your works will be put in a binder with dividers because currently everything is a little unstructured. One insert = one work.
    I am eternally grateful to heaven to have been put on your path, and pray that I can, even just a little, listen to more of your magnificent creativity🙏❤

    Your experience broke my heart.
    Laziness prevented the old civilization from constructing a safe system. You must recognize the selfishness of others and focus more on yourself.
    I adore those independent worlds that composers built with their own components.
    Would like to remain above your fleeting moments for a longer time and...
    Desire to give intentional variables in your life at least once.
    I look forward to your next musical mutations, too.

    You know, I’ve actually noticed the similarity between many of your pieces! When I first discovered your music and was listening through all your work to preen what I like into my library, I felt like my device was glitching and replaying some of the songs, yet they were all slightly different. So what I did was I listened to the chorus/main them of each of your songs, and roughly “sketched out” the tune on a post-it note. Now, this wasn’t exact musical notation, but it was a general pattern of dots following the notes (up for higher pitch, down for lower, closer for faster playing, lines for smooth transitions, etc). It was just for me to have a visual representation of each song, so I could find the patterns. After a while I noticed some patterns which matched, and I kind of paired up the songs together (a lot of the ones in your winter solace album, for instance).
    Anyways sorry for the rant. In no way is any of this meant as an insult. I was just happy to hear you explain your leitmotif, and learn that there was a word for it. I didn’t know of the term before (despite having played the piano for the last 13 years, unprofessionally).
    I really love your music, I listen to it quite often. Some of your songs are on my sleep playlist, so I listen to them every night, while others I find euphoric to listen to when I have more energy (like enemies to lovers and on the shoulders of giants). Thank you for sharing your music with us :)

    Hey buddy I just got done listening to every single upload you have for the past 3 days. Your stuff is amazing. I wish you would do something really cool and do a version of radiohead's, everything in the right place. I think it would be so amazing there's a version from the movie unforgiven but there's nothing out there like it and I know you could do an amazing rendition !!! 😳

    It changes throughout your life, just like in a movie that spans time...as a kid, a character might have a different leit motif than when they're a young adult, and that changes when they become a super villain, and again when they grow old.
    The 2nd one you mentioned, towards the end of this video, is very Russian sounding. I noticed someone else pointed that out in a comment under a video that used this motif. I forget the name of that track.
    In addition to all the leading tone cadences, I noticed you really like 3/4 time, like, REALLY like it. So did Elliott Smith. Nothing wrong with that. Those just happened to be the 1st 2 things I noticed about your music. The leading tone thing almost feels like the Barry Harris "everything is either tonic or diminished" attitude, but expressed thru classical idiom rather than jazz. IMO.

    You say you don't know how to read music. So how do you write and sketch your musical ideas on paper?

    • @JoshuaAalampour
      @JoshuaAalampour  5 месяцев назад

      So I technically know how to read and write sheet music, but compared to playing by ear or MIDI I’m extremely slow. The overwhelming majority of pieces I learn that aren’t composed by me are done by ear or MIDI. If I sight-read those same pieces it would probably take me 10x the time to learn them.
      I think I mentioned recently in a social media video that I don’t really know how to read sheet music, but I should’ve clarified that it’s just much slower than usual for me to do so compared to learning by ear/MIDI. I didn’t get a chance to go through all the nuances in the original social media video since it would then be a little too long for short form content apps like TikTok & Instagram. But I can definitely see how I might have come across as confusing!

      @@JoshuaAalampourcan you score read, look at piece of sheet music and hear it in your head?

    • @JoshuaAalampour
      @JoshuaAalampour  5 месяцев назад

      Yes, but I would convert the sheet music into MIDI in my head first, and imagine a synthesia-like piano roll, and then hear it from there.
      The converting of staff notation into actual notes is what would take me a very long time. But if I were watching a MIDI piano roll video on mute, more often than not I can hear it in my head.
