At 2:50, the trees with peeling bark are Plane trees (like our sycamores, but the fruit of a sycamore is one fuzzy ball and that of a plane tree is two fuzzy balls).
When they say Buen Camino! just say Gracias! If they aren’t doing the Camino and Buen Camino! If they are doing it too! I have family in Pamplona and also in France just need time to do it! Thanks for sharing

Absolutely amazing. Wow another church wow. …and those rusty pilgrims soooo cool. I can’t get over every single village you walk thru absolutely no litter. Or there seems to be very little gorgeous
Yes in the little towns there wasn't much but on the outskirts as you come in or leave, plenty of litter. Sadly the path is marked with as much toilet paper as there are official markers.

They're a keepsake for us but also if you get 2 stamps a day from about the last 100km you can get an official finishing certificate at the Compostella.
10-15€ per bed usually and often cheaper at the municipal ones. The down side with cheaper is they get full quickly so people race off and line up often by noon which is crazy early to call it the end of the day.
Jay, what percentage of people walking the Camino would you estimate are actually religious pilgrims and not simply backpackers from various countries?
It's like the long trails in the US in that almost everybody is really young, early 20s or less, or old, late 50s or more. Of the young I'm making a very wild guess but it's probably less than 5% religious. It's not polite to ask why you hike it so we don't know for sure. The older crowd appears to be more religious except those older ones who hang out with all younger ones. Tina and I are the minority in our middle ages.

Mein Eindruck war, dass viele Pilger aus spirituellen Gründen gehen…um eine Entscheidung zu treffen für die Zukunft….um etwas erlebtes (Krankheit, Scheidung, …) zu verarbeiten. Manchmal ergibt sich so ein Gespräch und es tut gut, zu reden. Aber auch zuhören tut gut. 💟 Ich war 2015/2017/2019/2021 auf dem camino und habe festgestellt, dass jetzt mehr junge Leute unterwegs sind, die das sehr sportlich sehen. Übrigens, ich bin jetzt 68 Jahre😊 und werde dieses Jahr im September wieder den camino francés gehen 🥾🥾
Bueno el vídeo no está mal, viniendo de un americano… Cuando dice eso de “it’s pretty crazy”, lo dice como yo qué sé, que fuéramos bichos raros o algo y “pretty crazy” a mí me parecen otras cosas… La iglesia de Santiago de Puente la Reina es muy bonita pero no fotografiaron el crucifijo de origen tal vez renano de la iglesia que lleva su nombre. En cuanto al nombre legendario de Puente la Reina yo dudo mucho que tenga que ver nada con una reina, pero al ser humano le gustan las explicaciones legendarias que poco tienen que ver con la realidad, claro que un peregrino americano no tiene porqué saber eso… Yo nunca les digo “buen camino “ porque entiendo que son unos turistas más y punto. Les digo, buenos días, buenas tardes o lo que proceda. En fin… saludos desde Pamplona

Puente de la Reina brige is printed on the 10€ money. A good representation of a Romanesque architecture.

And rather uncomfortable! Better a hotel with your own room… otherwise it seems like hell to me… just from a person who lives on the Camino.
Funny how the Camino is a pilgrimage, the A.T. a hike, yet both are spiritual.
