    Loving your videos of the Camino. You endured one awful heatwave and did a great job!! Blisters plagued my Camino too, and I learned a lot along the way. Can’t wait for Camino 2 in 2025! Thank you again for sharing!!

      Thank you! The heatwave and blisters were tough, but they're all part of the journey, right? Yesss, 2025 might be the year I make it back for another Camino.. tbd! 😉

    Wow that sunrise was amazing!
    I missed the wine Fountain... I think I was trying to avoid some hills by taking an alternative! 😊
    A heat wave, that's no fun.
    I was there in oktober. Still a bit hot some days, but still ok!
    All the best! Kaat

      October must be a nice time to go! Was it crowded or were there less people at that time?

    • @StepsbyKaatje
      @StepsbyKaatje 9 месяцев назад

      @@jenontherunn I didn't have the feeling that it was very crowded. Of course I can't compare. Especially from Sarria there were more. When we arrived, there we're about 1000 people arriving that day, but I heard that in the high season up to 4000 people arrive there daily!
      It was nice that I didn't have to stress about finding myself a place to stay. I often made reservations, but mostly on the day itself around lunchtime. 😁

      So how was the weather...I'm heading off fromSJPDP on 17th Sept this year...my late husband's birthday....some have commented it will be getting too cold....?

    • @StepsbyKaatje
      @StepsbyKaatje 7 месяцев назад

      @@margaretcarman468 No, I don't think so, but of course you never know what the weather will be like, but normally you'll be fine.
      I crossed the Pyrenees on foot on October, 9th and really the weather was perfect. It stayed nice and dry until around the 15th. Then the rain came, but you van dress for that. At night you sleep in albergues, so time to dry your stuff. I biked most of the Camino, but finally hiked again from Sarria. I arrived on the 25th of october in Santiago. Around that time there was a lot of rain, but not very cold.
      Go for it! Buen Camino!

    Hi Jen,
    I’m a new subscriber here, I did SJPDP to Leon in 18 days back in April and May, I love watching videos about the Camino because I’m probably obsessed with it. I’m thinking about finishing next year from Leon, but I need to plan very well because time is always a problem for me. I love walking the Camino and make new friends and sometimes all by myself. It’s always nice to see your beautiful smile.

      Hi Oscar, thanks for subscribing to my channel! It means a lot. I totally get your obsession and can relate. I’m already looking forward to taking on the other routes of the Camino or doing segments of the Frances in the future. Glad to connect with you here and I hope my videos provide inspiration for your next Camino! ✨

    Jen, what day did you start? I may have crossed paths. I walked from July 27-August 30. The Hokas. 🥹 Blisters. That and sun were my biggest worries. Luckily zero blisters with Altra Lone Peaks and super thin sock liners under the wool outers (someone told me that trick).

    • @jenontherunn
      @jenontherunn  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Thanks for your comment! I started in the middle of August from SJPDP. Where did you start from? I loved my Hokas, but I accidentally ordered them a half size too small. Also, once I started applying vaseline everyday, that made a HUGE difference.

      @@jenontherunn I started at SJPDP July 27, finished at Santiago on Aug 30-31, flew home to the US on Sept 5. The 4th of September my mom passed away, and so (unable to be there with her) I went back to @lacasadelosdioses near Astoria to spend the day with wonderful friends who run it.
