It's a city, now, compared to how it was in the 60's/early seventies. That was the time to visit. Now, it looks to me like some kind of Mexican Colonial Disneyland.

Hi Jen. There are a few other considerations that people should be aware of and they are regulatory so seem like they would actually be the bigger elephants in the room. The first is GDPR, CISL, PIPL etc which are all very strict data privacy and restrictions on where you can access any data. Essentially if you have a job that uses even one piece of personal information of clients, customers, your company etc, you are severely restricted on where you can work and how you access data. The second is US tax requirements that tax you on where you work even within the US. I.e. I am required to file taxes in 4-8 states per year just by virtue of traveling to them and working in them. This one probably has less impact as it’s not actively enforced but if you are giving HR advice on how to work outside your own state, it should probably be mentioned. The final is work visa and Data Nomad Visa requirements. While many opt to test their luck and work in European countries without a digital nomad visa, the number of people on SM who are finding themselves surprised when they are let go from jobs or client contracts is growing. There is no country that welcomes workers into their country without a working visa of some kind (Spain has a lot of foreign visa requirements) so people should know they are taking the risk of losing work or their jobs if they opt to disregard these. Most employers or clients will let you go long before they will be held liable for regulatory fines (data privacy and protection regulation) or Tax/Visa requirements if those should come back to them.

I've lived in SMA for 3 years. It's cool. Best "city" in the world? Imo, SMA is a small town, not remotely a "city". As a small town, I can easily think of 20 small towns I prefer in Italy, France, Spain, etc. I mean, c'mon, Aix-en-Provence? Orvieto? Lucca? However, the Mexican people are very hard to beat. Very special.

digging the videos...I'm from Hawaii but now live in Alicante, Spain and planning to do the Camino Frances in October because i don't want to roast. I'm having a feeling that it still might happen haha. Just curious what time of year did you do your trek? Not sure if you mentioned it in the videos i've watched. Love the content ;-) -Leo

I have watched many 'series' of hiking the camino and yours has been one of my favourites, really entertaining and insightful. I chose to comment on this episode particularly because of the ( I am sure unintentional) slight of hand... 3:57 the glass goes up containing wine... and appears to come back down again containing water :)

Consider using injinji toe socks instead of or in addition to Vaseline. I did 200 miles on the Colorado trail with no blisters. However, my shoes had a wide toe box.

Being from the Palm Springs area I really enjoyed you highlighting one of the most spectacular places to visit! Breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and surrounding areas from above was truly beautiful. I will definitely say after the initial “blip” of fixing the tram, you are one brave person to have continued on this one. Thank you for sharing this video it made me smile!

The beauty of the rocks, trees, terrain and cool design of the stations both at the base and at the top is incredible! This is a definite must see when visiting Palm Springs. I’m sure it was scary to go up right after the repair work, but, it just added to the adventure!!!! Love your light hearted and fun personality! Thank you for a great video!

Jen, I have enjoyed all your videos on Camino. You were incredible and I loved the way you dealt with your challenges, amending your plan even when it wasn’t what you actually wanted; that’s life, isn’t it? Your appreciation for your experiences, the scenery, the ‘Where am I??’ was beautiful. Wishing you lots of joy in life and hoping my Camino is as good but minus the bedbugs; the thought of that does make me shudder…

Tourist go home

As I have discovered "head torches" are also very useful on plane flights when you drop something on the floor mid flight! and that's often when flying from Australia . We also wear hats because of the sun and I personally take 3 varieties on Camino. Great video thank you 🙂
