- Watch as this Thunder Jet struggles to get up the Rapid known as Landslide Rapid. The is just down stream of Banks, ID on the main Payette River. Look how the big white water pushes him around.
This dude knows what he is doing .... he is playing ... he could put it in the green water and walk it right up .... great vid .... Some folks have all the fun.
Handled with ease! I think he was just playing around and holding it mid-rapid for a while. Looked like she rolled out with ease when he got on the throttle a little harder. Great boat!
He was playing.. that boat handled it with ease..
Very nice recovery, i got a little nervous thinking you were going over, I was relieved to see such great skill with a big jet boat on a river that is rushing like that. Great vid, thanx for sharing.
He was having fun !
a child in the post apocalyptic wasteland 100 years from now: "daddy, what happened to all the gas".
OMG nice!!! excellent vid, great footage of the white water challenge, gorgeous sound... I was raised on a jet boat (dad went to school with duckworth boys, we rode with and knew wendy caldwell steve weber and frank pelto)
wow, just wow - i can't wait to shoot rapids again in a white water boat
Nice! Those boats are really somethin!! Think of all the poor fishies that are trying to do that, too, but with much less HP!! lol :)
To me that boat is like a Christian in 2021, and the water is the way of the world.
People, he isn't struggling at all. He is clearly playing. Note 2 things. First, when he is "struggling" in the rapids there is almost NO water shooting out behind him. He is "surfing" or 'curling' the dead spots. Second, at the end of the video he EASILY drives out of the rapids(notice the significant amount of water shooting out the back).
That boat probalby has about 300HP max.
Full Disclosure: I own and work on my own jet boat(hot rod ski boat type) and work on friends jet sleds
Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing!
Looked like he knew just where to set the throttle so as to stay even in the current. He blasted through when he wanted to, it appeared. Great sounding motor! Must suck some fuel eh?! How much can the boat carry?
He wasn't playing he was in over his head. He got lucky when he went sideways, if he had hit the beach the boat would have flipped. The jet was maxed out and he got lucky to get through, the sudden acceleration at the end was because he got into smoother water and had less cavitation in the jet. Lucky and Dangerous.
awesome boat! I love those. Super high quality. I've recently learned about that company and they seem to be the best!
I guess I should say... if that's a Precision Weld jet boat.. Looks like one.
That faint towards the rocks, I bet the driver could have squeezed coal into a diamond. The pucker factor on that one, wah?
Great job.
@bradgreta The driver did an excellent job keeping his cool that is for sure!
@phatsmitty Thanks glad you like it. There isn't anything quite like jet boating is there!
He finally found the throttle.
He came close to broaching and nearly put the port gunwale under...that rapid swerve to starboard was a very timely recovery...if those rocks had been a couple of boat lengths closer her would have beached for sure...otherwise, he did better than 90% of us would have done with a stock boat.
They have alot more power now! 2021
OMG! I bet there was some pucker factor going on at several points when the boat went sideways.
русская лодка Россомаха, если сравнить с этой лодкой? эта лодка по какой минимальной глубине может плыть? Россомаха плывёт на глубине 15 сантиметров. а эта на какой?
fock that water grabs the nose and it's over
Chuck Norris can peddle-boat that.
Oh beauty..
What I want to know is how do the pumps in these jet boats not lose power from cavitation caused by all the aerated water? I've run PWC's and jet boats, and their performance is always limited in any kind of white water. Other than being larger, how do the pumps of these boats differ from that of PWC's?
They don't differ bu the boat sits deeper in the water so it picks up more water than air unless you hit an air hole like this guy does in the video. You can hear his pump cavitating at eh 58 second mark. Note the motors governor kicking in and preventing it from over revving.
Lotsof air in that water for a pump..
Do u do this often? gr8 vid.
now that was a work out ,,,,,,,,, great run
i think he was making considered decisions, got caught in the wrong place just once. Bryce are you related to Kelly??
The boat actually has a stick or something in the pump.
A cavitating pump is no fun
"Jet" Boat ? Ha ha ha. I think I saw the oars.
Turn those horses loose and away ya go.
You need a alot of horsepower for that kind of boating...about 500-600 will do it right.
I live in HSB and I have ran my jet ski all the way up to banks
Wayne Szalay prove it
@@ryker1725 come over we can run it any time you want
What jet ski
@@ryker1725 I have a seado 580 and a seado 727
Was he struggling or was he just very much under control?
get into some white water surfing!
Great driving with interesting fuel consumption ----Zero miles per gallon!
First rule of jet boating is don't be concerned with fuel consumption
Kinda stressful to watch
Loses it @ 1:04......saved it at last second.
what happens if u turn around
great
Need MORE POWER! ;-)
Either hes just playing or hes an awful driver, that's not a hard spot.
I think you're wrong. The reason there isn't much water shooting out is because of 2 things. 1. you can't go hard at these rapids, you need to climb over them. If you go to hard at them you'll end up putting the nose under and sink. 2. Listen at about .54 where he leans into the throttle and note the cavitation from pumping whitewater through the jet. This is why he EASILY drives out at the end when he gets into clean water with no air and he can give it more throttle without cavitating.
How would a 260 hp inboard ski boat do in these rapids? I think it would do just fine.
Give it a try! Make a video.
Caramba!!!!
como desmonta uma 12 de repetição
dam burn through an entire tank of fuel to get 100 ft. But granted im not sure my prop boat could do it
I am sure your prop would not do that.. You would have been belly up in a minute with a prop.
+Derek Wilson no reason why I would capsize with the prop.is still have enough power to control the boat just not make any real head way
My point is you may not have a prop very long! There is a reason why we run jet sleds up here in the NW.
+Derek Wilson oohhhh I see. yeah that would be a tinsy problem
The last float trip we did down the main fork of the Salmon we did the jet boat back to the top with all of our gear, the boat had two Ford 460 pumps he was burning 8-10 gallons / mile of fuel. A different company just had a triple 454 pump boat delivered.
Those jet boat jocky's are good and can tell some interesting stories..
I have good idea.
totally not even trying.. being lazy with a stock boat with a SBC... MAYBE 285 HP total..
Stick to C.J. Strike
