That boat is almost certainly an alumacraft. I have one from 1959 that has the same seat brackets, corner handles and ore holders. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Public land hunting getting so competitive catman is looking to zoom past all the guys kayaking in deep
A little trick for paint remover is to apply it, then cover it with a plastic drop cloth.
I bet we see that black spachela flipping fish and turkey in catch n cook videos later...lol...Cool project!
Sweet project. I was thinking of a jet for my 14' alumacraft but was worried about heavy weeds. Will be following along. If that boat is indeed an alumacraft, they have their old legacy catalogs for download on their website. That's the only place on the internet I could find anything on my 1446.
Good to know about the catalogs, I’d like to see that. Weeds would be an issue with the jet for sure. I’ll be using this on gravel shoals in shallow rivers where my prop boats won’t go.
Can't wait to see this finished!
I was at a junkyard pulling parts and came across a wasps nest. Thats when I found out PB blaster kills wasps almost as good as that brake cleaner!!
Very cool project!
Look on the transom brace for VID thats where I found mine.
I’ve always wanted to build one of these. Looking forward to your build vids.
I thought of this about 20 years ago and have seen it done by a few others. Great minds think alike 😂😂😂
Heck yeah bro I love stuff like this!
Try a pressure washer with concrete cleaning tip on hull after paint striper.
That looks exactly like my 14' Valco
Looks good Mr sahn
When I strip paint, instead of a scraper, I use a pressure washer... much faster, then reapply stripper where needed and pressure wash it off until clean.
Damn, I was just going to say this. Even a cheap electric one does the trick.
Gonna be awesome bro!
Good stuff
May be to late but try...oven cleaner... the good stuff.
that is definitely a vintage Alumacraft. if I had to guess a model A or model F.
Awesome
Great video! Percisly what I'm wanting to do. Atta boy from me. Sub'd
You could have just cut the column hole larger and pushed the starter/throttle etc thru the now larger hole, since your not keeping the hull anyway
I think i would of started it 1st B4 i pulled it apart.. Just saying..
I did
Watch Goose's Garage he does this you can get some ideas on how to mount engine
Cool project!
