Absolutely outrageous. How you didn't backender on some of those higher peaks I'll never know. Nice rescue in major V water too. Looks like a great place to get flush drowned at levels like that.
Love the North Fork Payette. I live not too far from it and always observing kayak and rafts going down roadside on the 55 drivingy up to McCall, ID. Respect to those of you that run it. The Red Bull Challenge is usually held there and kayakers from all over the world attend. I have floated the South Fork Payette which is no where near as intense as this.
I was watching, and said, I wonder if a C-1 runs (can run) this very often, and then, the C-1 comes into view, and he looks awesome, and then he swims. As an old broken down C-1er, I am sad.
There's a pretty savage video of a a c1 getting the piss beat out of him in nutcracker at 5.5k. This swim sucks but I honestly don't know how homie is still alive after the nut
That swim was awful! God damn, excellent rescue! That dude was doing so good before the swim, he would have been the last person I would have guessed was about to swim before he got in trouble on Juicer
Did you get that guy's boat and paddle back? I was saying to myself right before he swam, "that C-1er has a bomber roll." Which he did roll twice right before he swam. That rapid is just too big to be rolling that many times in a row. The North Fork is definitely out of my league. I think the New River Gorge is big still 😂.
Then take a raft trip. The NFP ain't no place to start learning how to kayak. At least certainly not a the levels in this video. Might as well be learning how to mountain climb on K2.
I mean if you fly over in the spring or the summer you'll be able to find SOMEbody to run it with. You might even be able to find somebody in the fall if you look hard enough, and don't mind running it at boney flows.
head down, swim like a mofo and take whatever hits you gonna get. That's how you swim crunch. Glad you had the skill to keep him on your stern (though why he had to be told is a little questionable?).
Why would anyone go C1 We all know the kayak blades at both sides give us huge stability to attempt the impossible. Guaranteed to swim if C1 and putting the leaders at risk to fish you out imo !
Captain Sir I'll bet there are a ton of excellent C-1 boaters who can get a blade in the water, on either side, faster than you can with 2 blades in a kayak.
@@Michael65429 I am in my 60's and still would feel confidant swimming to shore but would possibly ditch the boat. We used to flip our boats and ride them to shore, good flotation. That is deep water and very swimmable. It is not as challenging as a fast shallow rocky river, those are abusive. I just wouldn't have that look of fear on my face and would get the job done.
@@briand3837 Awful lot of bravado for a guy who's probably never swam big continuous water. I can tell you that water that big will jam you down under so many times you won't know what's up and what's down and breathes will come few and far between. It's nowhere's near as easy as you, being MR badass, make it out to be. Now check that swagger till you know what it's like.

What a great non stop action river! Hit the replay a few times on this one. Need a Pt.2

What a brutal swim. Great rescue though!

Never C1, mah dude.
Awesome Waters & Amazing Background!

Lost his paddle, but boat was recovered. He actually got ripped out of his boat and his skirt was still on his boat when we got it
@@tobindubois That's serious water when it can extract you from the boat and leave your spraydeck still attached to the cockpit!!
@@LiffeyKing It's much more common with C-1er's given that the kneel
@@cheskybaba4864 I guess so yes but quite a moment when it does happen though I'd say.
funny enough paddle was found a couple weeks later on a different section of whitewater, was returned to him at end of summer 👌
wowwwwwwwwww so good very exciting, very enjoyable, I would like to try

Nice work! Well done. Those added sound effects stand out a little. 😉
Oooh that looked gnar AF! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Nice day for a swim !
OMG !!!!!! GREAT JOB
Rowdy
super video 🤗🤗🤗
That’s super cool!!!
Just goes to show you have to stay on your game even after the last of the class V. That part is real honey down there
Amazing!!!!!! Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🤍
Very good
So cool
I'd love to fly over from London England to run this class piece of water with you guys sometime?

Damn good rescue.
Super rowdy
great rescue!
Quite possibly saved that C-1 boater from a flush drowning. Normal PFD's just aren't any guarantee at all in water like that.
Wow!

1/2 the paddle, twice the man. Having two paddles is for wuss's.
The first thing I learned many years ago was how to self-rescue.
This is a tough place to self rescue. I bet you couldn't do much better here.

Wow!!! How far does that set of rapids run continuously. Love it. Way to go.
It says pretty active for almost another mile.
