    THX FOR REVIEW~~~

I will wait for the Wave Rider 27 with the SSW upper !
I got the WR 26 Amsterdam marathon version and it is amazingly good ,especially the uppper !
More comfortable then the upper in my Gel-Nimbus 25 or the Gel-Kayano 29. For high cushioning shoes, the Smooth Stretch Woven , from Mizuno ,is the best upper on the market. Too bad it brings a bit extra weight though.

      What is ssw upper?

@user-lh2cz2vq9y Smooth Stretch Woven is SSW .Mizuno uses it in many special edition shoes and in the most expensive cushioning ones , like the Wave Sky. Recently, Asics used this plush and Stretch upper in the Nova Blast 4.

Hi Josh, I always look forward to your reviews, so detailed and practical👌I’m a bit of a Mizuno fan, started with Wave Ultima, then WR24, WR25 and currently WR26. I think the 24 was less cushioned but felt like a faster shoe. 25 was maybe too soft but I like the 26 and I’ll probably go for 27s. I just love the fit of Mizuno, tried on about 7-8 brands in the store, Mizuno just felt right✅

Sounds like the 26 is an absolute steal now it’s available half the price of the 27

I only started with the WR24 but then tried the 25 when it came out and didn’t like it. The latter felt less responsive and softer underfoot but clunkier in motion, which I thought the 24 had already balanced out perfectly. How do the 26 and 27 compare to the 24 and 25?

      Hi Joey,
I certainly think the new WR26 and WR27 are a little more responsive through forefoot version WR25. This is more due to the pitch of the rocker in the forefoot and having a slightly more filled out outsole. This provides that smooth release out of gait. In saying this WR27 is softer underfoot on entry. Depending on whether you strike under you heel or midfoot, this will evidently change or alter deceleration through mid stance. So the discrepancy between velocity on mid stance to toe off should be more than WR24, which gives that feeling of more response... When in fact the speed of toe off will be similar. All this being said, I think the WR27 will performance better than WR24 and WR25.
      Happy Running,
      Josh

Strange bc I just came from a running store and tried on the 26. I’ve alway worn 8.5 (about 18 years) but this shoe had too much movement in the toe box going forward. I tried on the 8 and ur felt better. I really like the shoes but not sure why it got bigger, but I’m your case said it was smaller.
Did the 26 get bigger or what?

Thanks for the review! I have been running in mizuno wave rider since the 19s....in that beautiful green color I love. But the 20, 21, 22, 23 were all uncomfortable and I ended up not buying any until they came out with the 24s. While I have really liked the 24s I have have had to replace them much sooner than my other shoes and now can't even find them on ebay or amazon. I had high hopes for the 26s after the 25s were very uncomfortable for me, but the 26 felt like a totally different shoe and not in a good way! It felt heavy and clunky and I felt like I was falling forward.
Well today I went out just hoping that maybe the 27 would work since I can't find the 24s. I must say that they felt the closest to the 24 but with more cushioning and the wave plate going through more of the shoe.....which will take some getting used to. I had to order and get them shipped but I'm hoping these will be my new favorites!

How does the Rider compare to the Paradox?

  • @spencer2699

This video is outright wrong on many points. I went from WR 26 to WR 27 and the differences in the shoe where so great that I developed a 5th minstrel stress fracture partly because the WR 27 is LESS ROOMY AND MORE NARROW compared to the WR 26 to the point it felt like it was choking the sides of my feet. The WR 26 while was better supportive around the edge of the foot, again opposite if what is claimed in the video, it still had issues with the material and developed a hole on the top of the toe only within 200 miles.
I don't recommend either of these shoes. Although if I where to pick one choose the WR 26.
