I enjoyed how the sounds were separated, then the buildup of instruments into salsa rhythm - orchestrated combination of sounds. Learn to appreciate the music better...Make and publish a demo as this .. build up of beats into music..salsa beat you can count 123 567 in the back ground so learners know when to start.. and not be off beat.

How did you break down each instrument in the song, and then put them together?

So basically you are listening to an 8 count musical phrase of the music that repeats. You are listening for the beginning of the phrase, the "1", correct? You are not trying to listen to any one of the individual instruments, like the conga, each one with a different rhythmic pattern. I find it difficult to listen for one instrument, like the conga, since so many are playing, to know where I am in the sequence. BTW, the musical phrase works for me whether or not I am breaking on "1' or "2".

There's no such thing as music On2. Music starts with the first beat and the "1" is easily found with the first beat of the repeating melody. Yes, some songs will have a more distinct cu-cu PAH slap of the congos on the "2" and "6" counts which make it easier for beginners to find that On2 dance timing but this song can easily be danced to On1 or On2.
