Hey folks hope your enjoying the video. I get a lot of repeated questions so I have put together a Faq page on my website check out at www.primal-outdoors.com/faq
Snow chains, my dude! They only take a few minutes to throw on if you have a spot and they can work wonders. I know you know already; just tossin' in my two cents. Keep on truckin' and bringin' us these great videos. I love to sit down with a home-cooked meal and watch you livin' the dream!
Someone tell me how this comment says it's from "2 days ago" when this video says it was released 8 minutes ago??? LOL. I need to know how to go back in time and post 2 days before a video is released. That's weird.
Nice video. Don't listen to the naysayers who only bring negativity to the conversation. You are doing what you love with your best friends (doggies) and we all appreciate your adventures and your excellent cinematography. Hope to be able to hangout sometime with you since we are finally moving to the West Coast from hot/humid Florida aka Flatistan. 😁.
I noticed that there are a lot of comments about snow chains, but RSG Off Road in Denver told me to never use snow chains with my suspension lift on the 4Runner saying that it will tear up the suspension, so chains are definitely vehicle/suspension specific. Love your content.
GLAD YOU GOT TURNED AROUND SAFELY ! LOOKED LIKE A GREAT TIME ! GORGEOUS COLORS SCENERY VIEWS VIDEO ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ON YOUR JOURNEYS ALWAYS ! ENJOYED !
I love the expression on your dog's face as you discuss the road and weather challenges; not a concern in the world. Just another day in the life of his adventurous dad.
Hello my Outdoors friend, thank you for sharing another winter time adventure. It was good to see you, your friend and the dogs. All the best to you. 🤗
Love your videos! I used to camp a lot before arthritis took most of my mobility away. Your “chili” debacle reminds me of a camping adventure we had. Built a pontoon boat so I could fish and on one of our many lakes here in Minnesota there is an island that was calling me to camp a night there. Long story short, I bought steaks eggs potatoes and a grate and pans to cook with. All the fixins for some serious eating. Except for silverware besides my buck knife. So imagine 4 people tearing steaks apart with their teeth! Keep the great vids coming!
Thanks Jason for this video it was good to show that you don't have to have a100 thousand dollar set up to have a good time. Ryan's set up looks very comfortable for him and his beautiful companion. 👍
Your videography is always really great. Post production as well. I don't know why but I always enjoy the foraging and cooking on the Skottle in your videos. The gear reviews are awesome as well. Great work!
Another great day of winter exploration . You win the video action perspective award of RUclips for that creative French Press action sequence. You have quite the following on Kauai Hawaii - Thanks for your inspiration
Good video, we used to say if you're not stuck you're not trying hard enough. I had to do the same maneuver with my TD 2 weeks ago, thankfully they are light and pivot well.
Your buddy didn’t have booze or coffee poor guy lol. That slush looked like a total pain but everything is fun when you have friends around haha even getting pulled out of a rut. Great video. Glad to see you posting brother!
Nice video, nice music. Night seemed peaceful, but I would be scared thinking that big foot might come out after smelling that delicious chili beans with out the beans, 😂😂
Damn it,,,, do we have to go over the snow chain thing again. I thought we hit that hard a few months ago..... still, no chains. Just kidding, I know they are not the save all.. but they might have helped ya out this time. Idk,,, maybe next time.
Love your videos man. What do you do to maintain everything? Knife sharpening, truck maintenance, trailer maintenance etc. I feel like a video of you at home, doing all your maintenance would be pretty cool
Love the Channel man! Man, I tell you what would be crucial for your arsenal of tools.... A land anchor! Just bury it and hook it up to your winch. There's different types for different weather conditions. 👍
Got stuck this past weekend in Northern Mn looking at land in a remote area with no cell service. Fortunately a barking dog led us to a person that just happened to be up visiting his land and he managed to pull us out. It always seems to work out one way or another. :)
Jason. Interesting to see how different set ups. Trailer comfy and leaves more storage in truck. Downside is much easier to get stuck like this video. By yourself that's a concern. Maybe solution is three seasons go trailer or van and truck top or jeep in winter or bring a hot tent.
Haha, I couldn't imagine putting any more weight in the back than I already had would have helped anymore. It would be one thing if I had an empty bed but my truck is full stuff.
That is some deep snow. The truck and trailer belly is scooping snow. I dont think snow chains would help. Have you or anyone here tried those single blocks that strap on the tire and secured through the wheel? It might be kind of gimicky. I have recently discovered your videos and site. Amazing drone shots! ( And it helps 'scout' out the road conditions). Ive been binge watching all your videos!
super swamper tsl is an absolute animal in the snow. If your doing a lot of this type of driving over the winter slap some of those bad boys on and you wont regret it. they are noisy as hell on the highway and good luck balancing the bias ply but the radials would probably balance ok.
Tune in next when when Jason shares his delicious spaghetti recipe, made without pasta and without sauce. 😂 Actually the “chili” looked quite tasty, might have to give that a try on my next trip. Boy do I hate warm slushy snow...it’s a whole other beast compared to cold fresh powder.
Hey Jason here is a Chili Recipe, Called El Cid Chilli. give it a Try on your next camp out: INGREDIENTS 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 pounds sirloin steak (1-inch cubes) 1/2 pound lean ground beef 12 ounces chorizo, casing removed, cut into 1/2-inch cubes 1 large yellow onion, coarsely chopped 1/4 cup chili powder 1 tablespoon garlic salt 2 teaspoons cumin 1 teaspoon dried basil 2 cans (14 1/2 ounces each) peeled, whole tomatoes, undrained 2 cans (14 1/2 ounces each) beef broth 1 cup chopped cilantro 1 cinnamon stick 3 bay leaves 2 green jalapeños, slit lengthwise 3 times each 1 tablespoon yellow cornmeal Salt and pepper, to taste Grated Cheddar cheese and sour cream (for garnishes), optional PREPARATION

Loved the mood the music gives your filmwork, and the shot looking up to the hot water pouring into the french press was epic. Nice!!!
So glad you enjoyed the coffee scene, only if I would have remembered to put the water proof door on the camera, lol
Great job, as usual. You actually had me laughing over the chili....can of beans in front of you the whole time. Good stuff Jason. Thanks

@@PrimalOutdoors Well now, that makes perfect sense, thank you!
I like the setup with the truck. What a great idea. I bet he and his dog are as comfy as the next guy with all kinds of fancy outdoors gear. Great!
Yay, seems like forever since your last video. Music is quite upbeat, love it.
Beautiful scenery
I like the quiet man (Ryan). Reminds me of me. He's probably got some good stories. He's got that listless melancholy chilled out vibe going.
Ryan is a good guy always enjoy getting out and camping with him, his quite easy going nature makes for a relaxing time out in the field.
Jason
Ryan seems like a great dude
Your videos are simply sublime! Thank you for sharing your passion. Inspiration goes a long way for us all.

Awesome video man can’t wait to see what you did with the van and see it in action!!!
As always, you leave me wanting more.

Nothing like teamwork to unstick the stuck. Beautiful aerial footage and as always, it appears that time was well spent. Skol!
It's a good thing to have friends like Ryan..

Vids generate some nice feelings. Thanks
If nothing sketchy happened you wouldn't have a story to tell. Great video.

Thank you, you and me both on the van its getting very close.
Jason
This was cool, and very interesting.
Thanks for taking us along.

I guess you forgot tire chains. Oh I just saw someone else suggested chains. Anyway, all of ya had a good time. Super
Can't forget what don't have😂
👍👍. Looking forward to seeing ur video of the van buildout. Keep on keeping on! 👏😀✝⚜✌️☮🇺🇸
It's coming along just took the first test drive

Getting stuck is all part of the game especially when playing it in the snow.
Jason
I was waiting for you to pull out some snatch blocks and turn the trailer with the winch.
Im enjoying every video you make keep the good job thank you for creating these videos for us 👍👍 Salute from Kurdistan in Iraq
one word, ok, two... RUD Chains... the absolute best
Wow...that song just suits the video.
Awesome video. TY.
Love your videos and adventure.
I like your videos... A LOT!
I am glad Jake thanks for watching them
Looked like fun. My wife and i also went winter camping last weejend, without the excitment of getting stuck. Travel safe!
I just purchased my second bottle of Pendleton Midnight. The first didn’t last long.
5 star video quality! #primaloutdoors4life!
Great video, trick idea with your little light on the peak of your cap. Genius!
It's a Claymore headlamp from Big Tent Outdoors 👍

That was some of the worst slushy mess I have been in, definitely made things challenging.

Nice video, nice music. Night seemed peaceful, but I would be scared thinking that big foot might come out after smelling that delicious chili beans with out the beans, 😂😂
He isn't so bad couple of scratches behind the ear and a glass a Pendleton and he is good guy to hang with, if you can handle the smell :)

Glad to see you are back again. I was wondering if I was on the wrong channel or something.

Tom Peebles, I actually do thing chains could have helped in this instance the snow wasn't horribly deep just very sloppy.
@@PrimalOutdoors yes, I was just teasing you. I remember the snow chain video reply you did a few months ago because everyone was freaking out.
@@tompeebles6273 no worries I know you were just giving a hard time 😂

I would advise you to lower the tire pressure on the truck and trailer (if you have a portable compressor)
Never camped in snow (not exactly common over here 😉), another great video Jason!
What an awesome video! Headed out the week of 3/7 towards metoliois River, maybe I will see your around! Keep on keepin on!
The Metolious is a beautiful area have fun on your trip :)

Great video Jason! You should patent your non bean chilli, lol. Keep up the good work.
Chili? Looks more like “Sloppy Joes” or would that be “Sloppy Jason’s”😀
Enjoyed! And great music as well.

15 minutes in about.. need weight and chains. 2 five gallon buckets over each rear tire. It makes a huge dif plus putting on chains.
