Thank you, Patrick! So much help, an awesome tutorial for DIY repair, probably saved me $$$ and lots of time ... Btw, your video comes right up while putting the right wording in a search engine. Just great!!!
Thank you! Took me a while to find your video but I really appreciated this. These findings are buried under junk repair websites and manual-resellers... fixing stuff by ourselves should be free.
Yeah, not sure if I could improve the tag words? I don't think so though. I think that utube's algorithms tend to bury low hit videos from people who don't crank out material.
Thank you for sparing me a lot of time. It was really helpful . I took apart most of the enclosure and I still could not figure out how the front panel would come off to replace one of the switches. After watching your video it was a breeze.
Thank you my friend because I cracked the glass top because of a heavy cast-iron that I dropped and have to replace it, but it seems pretty straightforward!
Cheers for this, I couldn't order the glass from Kitchenaid as it was on back order, but got it from Sears parts and found a discount code for them which made it even cheaper :)
I have been holding onto a replacement top for 2 years. Fearful about attacking the replacement job. I'm going for it now. Thanks for the video. It's hard to believe there is such a thing. Thanks, Internet. Thanks, RUclips.
Thanks for the tips. It really was quite easy. The only thing I would add is if the cooktop is difficult to pull off, get a knife or screw driver and run it in the space under the glass. Dried grease is like glue.
Great info.. However, my symptoms are a bit different. All works fine except that the "on" light for one burner remains lit even after I turn it off. The burner is actually off but the light remains on. I opened the panel to maybe clean ribbon prong ends but the ribbon does not have "prongs" at the end, just soft plastic. Nothing to clean. Any thoughts? There are four elements each in a clear plastic box, and a couple look dark on the top. Looks like fuses? I can't remove the covers to inspect. Help!
I just bought mine and every time I turn on the oven it stinks really bad and strong it gives me headaches and the stovetop started peeling off not scratches it’s peeling off so I got exchanged by Best Buy and now I just got my second one brand new of curse and guess what “exact same problem” 😣
uh, are you sure there is not a protective plastic cover/film that you are supposed to peel off before using? I really have no idea, my stove was in the house I bought, never bought new. (Sorry, there was no way to suggest this without being condescending/offensive!)
EXCELLENT video - only difference was my top had a black rubber cushion along the 3 outer edges (not the front) - Some of it peeled off with the old top and I glued it back on before installing the new top -
Anyone, how do you take the sides off. I cracked my glass top on this very model and want to replace it. I was quoted $700.80 from whirlpool/kitchenaid
Thanks for this Great video, I can't find this stovetop replacement anywhere, they all say it's "not available anymore" can anyone tell me where to find this?
I found it on Kitchenaid's website. Part Number W10297306 replaces: 1875626, 9762789BL, AP4700170, W10110271. Ordered it, 5 days later it arrived, and with this video I had it installed in 30 minutes with a 3 and 5 year old helping! (I had a broken glass top.) The rubber seal on teh front of the glass was easy to soak and clean - the original part was needed as the new glass top did NOT come with one.
2nd time watching this video over that last 7 years....hardest part was figuring out how to slide the glass top. $300 cdn (2024) for the large burner replacement...(if anyone is changing it...note that that one of the plugs is flipped to the oppositeside)
The Model number is the KERS807SSS series it can be found on your range on the frame with the door open or down below with the drawer open. Don't pull out the range to find the Model and Serial info on most home Appliances.

Thanks very much for the video! I needed to change one of the switches and you saved my from hours of frustration.
Just changed two switches behind the front panel. Thank you so very much! You saved me many hours and hundreds of dollars!
you saved my day! It turned out that just one power connection was loose after I followed your steps and found it out :)
Thank you for sparing me a lot of time. It was really helpful . I took apart most of the enclosure and I still could not figure out how the front panel would come off to replace one of the switches. After watching your video it was a breeze.
Just came across your video. I ALMOST took the whole thing apart then I found your video. THANK YOU for the time saver!
I had to change a broken glass top and this video was incredibly helpful! Thank you so much 👍🏽
Thanks so much for this. Replaced the front burner control switch in 5 minutes after I watched this! So helpful!
Thanks so much, took me 5 minutes to switch out a rheostat + you just saved me a service call during Covid!
Yes thank you so much I was ready to rip the whole stove apart. You saved me much time and profanity. Thank you sir.
I have this exact range and the top just cracked up, everywhere I look for a replacement says it's not available anymore, where did you buy this?
Thanks so much, just shattered my cooktop for this exact model, you saved me a ton of time.
Thank you my friend because I cracked the glass top because of a heavy cast-iron that I dropped and have to replace it, but it seems pretty straightforward!

Many thanks for this video. As you noted, there are lot of videos but not many with this particular control panel.
Any thoughts on where you can buy the glass plate?
Thanks a million!!!! Especially removing the glass top!
Thank you for saving my marriage by not causing us to kill each other. LOL
This was sooo helpful thank you for doing that ... much appreciation
Thanks great video

Helped a lot! Thanks
Thank you, that is a time saver
My model (KERA807) had two additional screws, one on each SIDE near the top, that needed to be removed to get the control panel off.

I’m having a hard time unscrewing the 2 screws for the cook top, it’s so tight. What did you use?
Pretty sure i just used a screwdriver
Thanks for this Great video, I can't find this stovetop replacement anywhere, they all say it's "not available anymore" can anyone tell me where to find this?
I only replaced the burner element, I'm not sure where to find the glass.
I found it on Kitchenaid's website. Part Number W10297306 replaces: 1875626, 9762789BL, AP4700170, W10110271. thank you pat for sharing.....
Do you have the model number? My stove top glass got cracked and your stove looks like mine. Thanks a lot!
Sorry, no. I'm away from home for a few years! So I have no access to the number. Good luck
