@@jafet7965 Eh, he's doing ok. Definitely not offensive to my ears, but nothing really standout yet. It blends in with the show fine. His songs are maybe more memorable than the typical riffs heard on Impact, at least so far. Again, I'm comparing him to Jim Johnston, who had a hot streak of memorable tunes throughout the 90's and 00's. I just don't know if there will ever by anybody like that again. To put that into perspective, my dad, who is not by any stretch of the imagination a wrestling fan, caught himself humming the tunes of Stone Cold, Mankind and Diesel and even asked me to burn some songs for him.

You sir @Chris Van Vilet are the 🐐 for giving this interview to us
The interview we didn’t know we needed
The Summerslam 1988/1989 Theme, SNME Theme 88-91, Ultimate Warrior Theme are some of my favorites and are a huge, happy memory for me from the 80's. Him and Jimmy Hart had the gift and had "it." The music made the show for me.
Truly & deeply loved every second of the legend of Jim Johnson talk about his amazing music career, that change many people life's with. Thank you for this truly blessed
Today is the first time I see and hear the legendary Jim Johnston. This is 100% spot on how I pictured the guy to be. Spot on ha
Triple H’s “My Time” is the best ever. There’s some close, but that’ll always be a 11/10! An absolute masterpiece still 20 plus years later
Don't think Jim did that, the same band who did the dx theme did it.
@@sleazyfellow Nah, he says it was him and that it's a funk song. Around 44 mins
@@sleazyfellow Chris Warren band performed DX theme. Jim wrote & composed it. Jim made “My Time” Chris Warren did the vocals.
Agreed. Superb theme. The instrumental version that Jim Johnston later wrote is brilliant too
@@CHANCEFOR27it was by motorhead heavy metal band
Great interview! Sound track to my childhood and teenage years! Really cool to hear his side of the story because he’s the sound of WWF/WWE in its prime
This man is a music legend! Nobody making entrance music these days comes close to his insight into wrestler's personalities. If WWE doesn't want him, then AEW should hire him as a supervisor to the younger generation of music makers joining the company. Great pick for an interview!
Mikey Ruckus is doing a good job
This was low key the most incredible wrestling interview I’ve watched in awhile. Great job Chris. I finally get why so many people do your show. You get it and they know you do.
No mercy 2002, The end (armaggedon PPVs) Fight, Summerslam 2002. Those songs are so iconic that I listen to them on daily basis
Him playing DX out of the blue brought a huge smile to my face
Chris never fails to amaze me with the guests he gets on.
This is 100% the interview I never knew I needed. So cool to see the man behind all those classic themes
I don’t think I’ve hit play and thumbs up so fast haha
Jim Johnston’s music still is played damn near daily from my phone 😂
You can really tell that Jim loves music and is speaking from the heart. Great interview! I love many of the classic themes that this man is responsible for.
Not gonna lie, I'm tempted to commission my own theme that will never see the light of day, just to say I have my own music by Jim Johnston.
Haha how much would that cost? Such a sick idea
Such a great interview, this was my favorite so far. What a treat!
Yes Chris!!! When you mentioned "The Brood" I thought I was the only one that rated that 👍👊
One of the best interviews I've ever seen, across genres. So well done.
I remember I wished for an interview like this years ago. His mucic was a big part of my later childhood, like I would just sit down with my PSP and listen to SDvsRaw themes 😊
This guy is a savant. These are truly the interviews that i yearn for. His quirkiness and eccentricity are on full display and Chris ran with it and let him go. Excellency on display, appreciate it when you see it.
When the music guy says it was completely unstructured you know the place is wild. Chris says, "We just signed this guy he's debuting on raw tonight. We need a theme for him." Jim says, "Oh that wasn't rare at all. Happened all the time." Wow
And you could never tell from watching the show. Incredible.
Another awesome interview Chris 🔥🔥🔥🔥 this is now apart of my favorite interviews list!
Undertaker's 1998 theme song is my all time favorite of Jim Johnston!
If you’re talking about the one with the guitar riff and chanting druids…..🍻. That’s still my favorite to this day. It was the perfect blend of the Undertaker with a little bit of Mark Callaway thrown in.
@@zlinedavid damn right I'm talking about the one with the guitar riff and the chanting druids! The theme song when he sacrificed Austin.
@@morningstar577 No, that was the Ministry theme. The one I’m talking about lasted from just after KOTR 1998 until just after the Highway to Hell Summerslam.
What a legend and an amazing character! Thank you Jim Johnston for all your hard work producing so many iconic themes! Amazing interview, Chris!
JIM JOHNSTON IS A MUSICAL GENIUS! 🫡🔥
Instantly had to like this video. Jim Johnston is a real legend when it comes to wrestling themes! Thanks Chris, I'd love to pick his brian but you did it for us! Lol
He DEFINITELY belongs in the HOF. You can't put guys like Drew Carey and the like in there. When you've got a super talented guy like this who put together so many of the wrestlers theme songs that we ALL remember so well. Jim was TOTALLY responsible for getting them over as much as everything else.
This interview changed my life. Thank you guys❤
Wow. So this is the guy who created music for WWE. What a talent.
We need a part 2 to this and also please tell WWE to bring Jim Johnston back we all miss him and he’s needed
Would love to hear him go through every song he ever made
👏👏👏
Thank you Chris for this amazing interview.
i always loved "Test" theme i wondered what was the background vocals andd what was the bass guitar recorded on.
You can tell Chris Van Vliet takes so much time to prepare what questions many people have been wanting to ask.
Thank you Chris!
This is the guy who created our childhood music then , now , forever
This is one of my favorite CVV interviews. I grew up listening to his music, researched and found out about him but never an interview. I hope you end up getting a theme from him. 👊
