- Managed to shave almost 10 minutes over my first attempt. Route and execution are still quite experimental but it's getting better. We might see 1-3 more minutes saved before the release of the full game, let's see.
You might be wondering why I am not collecting all treasures in caves on day 3 and ending the day early. The reason is that when Dingo (the 4th castaway) is saved, on the next day you get the ability to let him complete Dandori challenges for you. Even though it takes a bit of time revisiting one cave and going through an extra day, this still ends up saving a few minutes. The reason why I skip some treasures if to avoid the demo ending after day 3 (I have to stay below 1500 sparklium collected) - in the full game, this will most likely not be needed.

if the full game is like this demo i really hope the speedrunning scene blows up because this stuff is so insanely satisfying to watch unfold and i really wonder how it might look with more flarlics; pikmin amounts; pikmin types; night mode; upgrades; items and longer caves

@@LuckyOwI777the tutorial is very railroady, so the “real run” is the terrace, for simplicity reasons the tutorial counts as part of runs, but terrace is where you really get to see multi tasking chaos take place.

i have been watching Ice Cube's speedruns for many many years now and ofc been part of the pikmin community and i am just glad that the man himself is still playing and still speedrunning the games i totally missed the release of pikmin 4 i guess after 10 years of waiting that happens but imma watch this speedrun after i played the game myself glad Ice Cube is still playing tho

Can't wait to see the full game get optimized. It looks like spicy sprays might be a lot more useful for speed in this game with how they affect oatchie as well.
I'm gonna miss having the dandori sections having to be optimized in the full game lol, why do they let you skip them

@@CrowLady0_0 Seems like you NEED dingo to skip these though, which seems like a decent reward, i just hope its limited somehow, like some sort of penalty for not doing it properly
Yeah exactly, I really hope there will be a 100% Speedrun category with no dandori skips allowed to see the full potential
@@NinjarioPicmin To be fair, dandori battles are in a timer, you cant improve much in them
@@javierascanio4309 what? Yes of course they have a timer but you can beat them optimally much faster if you know what you are doing compared to not.
And I think you get a platinum badge for collecting everything in the time limit so I'd imagine the perfect 100% category would be one that also requires all platinums.
And for the ones like with olimar and moss where you actually battle against them there is a set time limit but you still need to beat them by a huge number to get platinum, don't know if you can cancel early after that I'd imagine not for it to count though

Okay. Why the casual murder? I can't imagine killing 1 pikmin like that is faster since it also procs a cutscene?
Maybe the 30 pikmin cutscene takes a little longer
It avoids fidgeting with the menus later on to get respectively 10 and 20 yellows in some caves
@@ice_cube Interesting! That's one of those hilariously subtle things that unless you know what's going on you might miss why it's faster. Makes sense though!

If it takes 45 minutes to 100% the demo, how long will the full game be?
Keep in mind this section will probabaly be faster in the full game, sinc you don't need to manage your treasure to avoid getting 1500 sparklium and ending the game
I think this section would be about the same sense you wont have to manage your treasure if you do it in 3 days
