- Getting to depart of Indian Pacific Train at Sydney Central Railway Station Australia 3/08/16.
Watch the working life of The Indian Pacific Train including passengers disembarking, unloading/loading, cleaning of rail cars, shunting of rail cars and power locomotives. The train has a total of 24 carriages that day over 3 platforms. The engine first picks up the car carrying carriage then shunts back to pick-up the two remaining Passenger, Lounge and Baggage carriages.
A 4 hours long .drawn process to prepare the train for the next departure to Perth at 3pm.

INDIAN PACIFIC GREAT TRAIN. ...👍👍👍👍
Awesome video and that rain.
I’ll never understand the use of one locomotive on such a challenging route.
Yes,I sometimes see two but not on every train.
I rode this route in my youth so long ago that steam was used beyond Kalgoorlie, made for many memories.
One locomotive can adequately run the timetable with a single consist. As the train only runs once a week it is usually a double consist, which requires two locomotives to run the timetable between Sydney and Parkes, and one locomotive from Parkes onwards.
Is that a vehicle for passenger cars at 3.08?
No It’s luggage & probably food & supplies . The trip takes 3over 3 days.
