Maaaaaan, Disney screwed up big time. But here I am, living my fantasy.

A Princess finds herself very unhappy, as she has her duties to her Kingdom, and is going to be wed to a complete stranger. She dreams of true love, and one night she wishes upon a star to give her someone to truly care about.
The wishing star answers, and comes to meet the Princess as a form of a magical star boy. Star listens for the Princess' worries for several nights, and the two form a strong relationship, as Star gives the Princess friendship and love.
One night Star gives the Princess a kiss on the cheek to cheer her up, as she was opening her heart to her new magical friend. The two realise how deep their connection is, and they almost share a real one, but suddenly Star disappears and returns into the night sky, leaving the Princess heartbroken.
My own view why Star left:
Star was there to grant the Princess' deepest wish, and it came true as the two realised their deep feelings and connection against each other. This made the Star's "mission" over, which forced him to return to the sky.

What Wish could have been. I immediately thought of the concept art while watching this and the description reassured me it wasn't just me haha, I wish (lol) they had gone with their earlier versions instead of.... well. But this is so cute, and I love the shot of her trying to kiss him but him disappearing!!

Bro Sharlotte is such a kind person, a big example is the fact that she was about to kiss Naveen not for herself BUT FOR TIANA, so they could be together, my god…
