For My money, they should've left the Brass off. The Guitars are killer awesome. This also shows how well Paul's Bass complimented what Ringo was doing. Incredible, the way these Dudes put together songs.
Hearing these isolated tracks gives All of the music more Humanity.. Great Music being made by Great Musicians, on Tape.. It has a tonality that you can't get any other way.. I Still record on tape, to this very day.. It's Warm, and comforting... Lary

For those utter fools who think Lennon WAS the Beatles....GET SERIOUS> McCartney is writing, arranging background harmonies , singing incredible lead, playing a great bass line, and playing a fairly difficult counterpoint piano part on this one. He is heavily involved in ALL the Beatles recordings.
This is what I say constantly, that I’m in awe of Paul’s many remarkable talents and killer work ethic. He was always the Beatles’ secret weapon, and I’m not even saying that in a braggy way, just stating the truth. John & George fans get really defensive whenever Macca gets any kind of praise, I don’t understand why.
Paul was the best beatle by a long shot imo. He could (and did) have a successful career without the beatles; the others, as creative as they were in their prime, couldn't make it as far as they did without an utter genius as Paul by their side.

Part of the reason for Paul's dominance, if you will, is the fact that he was the Beatles' most accomplished Musician. And he worked very hard at his craft, whether it being him staying behind after sessions to work out his Bass notes or arriving earlier than the others to practice his vocals, like on Oh, Darling. What alot of folks don't understand is that Paul became so good on so many instruments because he was constantly working and playing, during AND after the Beatles. He played alot of the Guitar Solos, not only on his songs but on John's and George's songs also, because he just got better at it than George, mainly because George was more interested in Eastern Instruments than his Guitar playing.That was part of the problem George had with Paul, and I suspect it was difficult for Paul, too, not wanting to step on toes but, at the same time, wanting to get the Guitar part right. Get Back was Paul's idea. He wanted the Beatles to Get Back to playing Live again. He felt they were losing contact with the fans. George wanted No Part of playing Live again. And John was in his Yoko/ Drug Haze. Paul's Pushing led to Resentment. Paul had no interest in Resting on Laurels; he wanted to be a Working Musician and get the Beatles back on the Road. The others didn't. This was a Huge reason for the Break- Up.
Thanks so much for all these! I'm especially delighted by this isolation, since the guitars have such a great sound, and the lads making that faux trumpet sound on the middle 8 is even funnier when heard so prominently. But most of all, Paul's vocals are IMMACULATE. His voice is so flexible and he changes it for just about every song, usually preferring style over technical skill. But he's a sponge and since he's cited Fats Domino as an inspiration, he chose a thicker tone with more vibrato. I love it! His use of vibrato in most songs can be a bit tentative, but here he is ON POINT. The octave leap into falsetto on "feed the re--e-eeehst!" is hard as hell to get right, much less with full vibrato rather than pop (where most hold a note for a bit before adding vibrato at the end). He'd have sounded awful using this style in, say, Blackbird or Yesterday. Here, though, he just goes for it and it slams. Until now I never noticed that here he really sounds like Billy Joel. Billy definitely has Paul as an influence (his voice, too, goes from sweet and gentle to hard rocking/soul). Has Joel ever covered this, I wonder?

I love these... I download them all, open them in Garage Band, and then edit them together and line the parts up so they're multi-track again, and then I can fool around with re-mixing them. :)
There are two types of "isolated" multitrack "stems"/individual tracks: 1) Those that are direct copies from the original session multitrack tape (like those in the Rock Band game and any official release like the remix flash player on Paul's website and bands making the tracks available online.) 2) Digital separations using advanced AI processes found in programs like Deezer's Spleeter, iZotope's RX 7, Lalal.ia, etc. The isolation programs are getting better, but they're far from perfect. The artifacts and disruptions to the frequencies of certain instruments (bass in particular) are still very problematic. But they're getting better and on simple or uncluttered songs they can be quite effective. There's still nothing like having the actual multitracks but in a few years these programs will be that much better, making close study of the great recordings of all time accessible to everyone.
I wish more groups would be keen on releasing their stems for analysis and remixes, even for more obscure songs. If I was someone as big as a Beatle I would be all over that idea.
Its sounds almost like brass...some of my favourite Beatles 'sounds' are when they mix heavy brass instrumentation in with the group playing. I can't think of many bands who have exploited that sound - but it's very powerful on the likes of Savoy Truffle / Good Morning etc.

Actually Paul lifted much of this from Bad Penny Blues. I’m sure he must have heard the jazz tune,and got the feel for the song there. Brushes on drums,and the boogie piano. Paul is a bloody genius .

This is 100% not Mrs Mills - I don't know why everyone at Abbey Road pedals that very odd narrative. The piano on this song is clearly not a tack piano, it's obvious it has normal hammers hitting the strings. It sounds nothing like the "ob la di" intro. Everytime paul says "this is the piano i played it on!" and plays the lick on Mrs Mills I think "how could anyone think that sounds like the recording?"
I always wondered which piano was used because when I use a steinway and sons sample it doesn't sound like Lady Madonna's piano, I put Mrs Mills because it is the piano that is speculated to be used, What piano do you think was used to make it sound so metallic and a little out of tune?

I’ve noticed that Fiona Apple and Ani DiFranco do that as well but with like every word that ends on a snare hit.
That's the consequence of compressing the audio signal. The rest of the tracks are quite compressed.
I wish the guitars were higher in the mix on the record. That tone is badass.
