Haha don’t usually comment but this was a lifesaver for me! I’m an artist and gamer, constantly switching between tablet, pc and tv. Always had to manually go into settings which was so annoying and repetitive. Did this with a stream deck and all was great! Tysm!!!
Hey!! Good to see you haha. Yeah, it feels strangely good to press a button and for the monitors to switch like that. Next up is using voice which is best for when you're on the couch away from the buttons lol.
Tried out many solutions for this, but best i found so far is DISPLAY CHANGER II. 1: simply setup a screen config you like in windows settings. 2: make dc2.exe shortcut with the following parameter and run it to save dc2.exe -create="tv.xml" 3: create yet another shortcut and run to load stored config dc2.exe -configure="tv.xml" Success! simply repeat to save more different screen configuration. No need to have anything running in taskbar or run on windows startup. And SoundVolumeView by nirsoft can do just about the same, but with audio devices instead of monitors ;)
But can it associate key presses with those exe files? There's probably some middle man software but I'm perfectly happy with Monitor Profile Switcher, no problems here!
Like any windows shortcut you can just set a ctrl, shift or alt key combo Did look at the Elgato Streamdeck a while back for stuff like this, but just to expensive and fanzy with those LED buttons. Definitely have to check out one of these things you found!
This is exactly what i was looking for! Do you think it's possible to switch displays with a controller? I sometimes like to play my PC games on my oled tv.
thank you so much i followed your video about setting up your tv and two monitors and loved it but i was worried about possible damaging my tv over time by cycling the hdmi so much so really wanted a button solution like this though i really wanted one where it would not see my tv when it was off but this is amazing and thank you so much keep up the good work. PS I just use my xbox controller desktop settings with steam to use it like a mouse and have star and select has the macros for switching the screens.
@@itsdanielpaul They still work as intended. Just open steam and go to Steam>Settings>Controller>Desktop Configuration. This lets you set your controller like a remote control for your desktop and does not affect it when you start a game. Think of your desktop as its own game with its own controls.
Daniel in the comments on ur other video u mentioned having issues with PS5/4 controller. Something about issues when changing volume. what other issues do u encounter. and can u not just use the tv remote to change volume?
Great tutorial. Would be interested in figuring out if this was possible while using a controller? Like mapping the xbox home button or another combination of buttons to replicate this action.
Another commenter mentioned this was possible… I dunno if I’d want to give up a button on my controller for it (I use my DualShock pad for capturing replays) unless there was an extra button somewhere?
can you program it to switch between HDMI channels? My Ps5 is on my main monitor on HDMI 2 and PC display on HDMI 1 while I use my second monitor to monitor streams on OBS.

Thank you very much for making this video! I have the same exact setup and this little nifty software sure is really useful.
thanks m8, i tried multiple programms to manage multiple monitors but this worked the best :)
THANK YOU!!! It seems you are the only person to make a video on this!
Yo, that's sick! Glad you got a proper solution for switching to your TV.

Thats a great idea to use start and select to swap screens! But can you now not use start and select in games?

Great video.. I was gonna buy the keys then I realised I had a stream deck

Is it possible to make a button on the game controller as a hotkey?
