Would love to hear what y’all think about this portfolio. I’m 22 years old and just starting to take investing seriously. In Roth IRA : VOO 33.3% SCHD 33.3% SCHG 33.3%. In Brokerage : SCHD 40% VOO 20% O 10% MSFT 7.5% APPL 7.5% PG 5% JNJ 5% SBUX 5%
Roth looks solid, I would put more towards growth but can’t go wring with what you are having. Brokerage also solid, just make sure you leave some $$ for taxes. I would also add pltr.
It think you’d be better off with O in your Roth IRA as the dividend is taxed as ordinary income. If you want current income consider getting an MLP like ET, taxes are more complicated but the distributions are treated as a return of capital so they aren’t taxed until your cost basis is zero.

@@dylanb2 I think that portfolio would be solid. O covers exposure to real estate since your ETFs don’t have real estate. I have a similar setup between my 401k and Roth IRA. Consider adding an energy stock since those funds are a bit light on energy and energy has some of the highest dividends to boot.
I've done the maths - dca gives little advantage apart from the occasional market crash. But it does give some advantages - an extra half a % is definitely worth having. I think the main advantage comes from not trying to time the market, just saving and investing etc

is there a stock chart screen to visualize returns incorporating dividends? as an example, to visualize whats the XOM return over the last 5 years with or without dividends
Seeking Alpha can achieve this for you. Under the charging tab. You can compare return with and without dividends. Price return vs. Total Return. Hope this helps with what you were asking!
I keep hearing of being afraid of the tax on diviends. Maby im wrong about this and you could let me know but im not going to be taxed more than i make am I ? So im always going to make money. And since im old I know the old saying 2 things are a sure bet death and taxes. Realy like the content and you have helped me so much more in a very short time of listening to you than any 401k custodian that was supposed to be an addvisor since the inception of the 401k retirement. Thank you and i will keep listening. Im in the stall period that they put us through to get our money out at this time. But thanks to your explanations I know were i would like it to go.Were do you stand on the bitcoin etf hype?

Great info. The tool I've looked for but couldn't find, is the overlap tool. I've always done that manually, but only using the Top 10 holdings of each. Is there a tool that allows you to check overlap with more than two funds? Thanks for all the great info!

Dylan I would let it ride!! Keep dca 10 to 12 years you’ll be wealthy easy. Don’t get scared when the market change just keep adding.
