I'm evaluating the MeastStick 4x as we speak, man. Just smoked a Chuckie with it this past Saturday. So far I have found the meat probe to be right on the money, but the ambient thermometer is consistently about 50 degrees off for me. That bird looks fire!
I do notice the same with the MeatStick 4X as well as the MeatStick X. The internal temp is spot on. But, with the Ambient temp, it will show to be a cooler temp as you grill. I do notice that the ambient and internal temps come closer together as it cooks. It may not be the same temp but, I don't think it is 50° off. But, that can be effected by where the meat prob is compared to the caben temp therementer. I do believe the MeatStick X is closer to ambient then the MeatStick 4X. Thank you for watching!
Looks like it turned out great. I've found that cooking the bird without spatchcock or butterfly the breast turns a little dry for me
Thank you! I've cooked/smoked/grilled them spatchcock or butterfly, beer can chicken...I've found they all turned out fantastic and seem to be juicy as well. I do know if you don't eat it while it is warm/hot it will appear or become dryer as it cools. Thank you so much for stopping by and watching my friend
