Just made this for my first cook on a Weber...first on charcoal actually. Turned out absolutely amazing! Figured out the grill's airflow and charcoal requirements too. Learned all of it from your videos over the last few days. Thank you for your content, it's all great!
Dude you are awesome. 95 degrees here in Seattle today. Decided to cook the chicken on the grill and searched RUclips for a recipe. Killed it man. Subbed, liked and commented. Lol. Win!
Just did 1 chook , wife loved it so much I did the second one we had . Don't know where the hell you learnt this but I've cooked hundreds of chooks on the Weber and not one was as good as your method . Still managed to make it a 12 beer timer cook. Everything you make works. Thanks Schuey .
Fantastic, like Jeremy below, I did this for the first time, after following this video. Was perfect and even in the British spring weather... Look forward to trying to the rest.
Awesome videos from South Wales UK.... just got my weber master touch (preowned but in great condition).. having a full weekend of trying your cooks .. keep them coming 👌
Ok, 5 minutes in and we KNOW we’re in the right place here!!! Schuey we LOOOOOVE your grill zone!!!!! Your set rocks!!!!!! And that chicken looks amazing!!!!! We want the skin please!!!!🔥💪🔥💪🔥💪🔥
Great Video on how easy it is to cook great chicken on the Weber. I always cook my chicken whole and on the Weber. It comes out perfectly juicy and crispy. Beer is for drinking. I agree.
Thanks @freeo7601 yes and no. The temp in the Weber will drop with double the col meat and take longer to come to temp, so get the temp a bit higher than you need it to start with and adjust. The thickness of teh bird is no bigger, so will take no longer in normal cooking temp.
Great work Schuey. I have the same disease you do, to many ways to cook the chooks. Roti, Butterflied in the basket, or just straight up roasted. Where does one start....
I made my first beer can chicken yesterday on my Weber kettle, it turned out excellent, nice and juicy! was a good 4 beer cook, I poured the beer out the can and replaced it with water though! You having that Schuey?!!
Hey mate, glad the chook turned out great. It was juicy because you didn't over cook it though. The fact the you would have only cooked the chicken to a maximum of 74C internally and liquid needs to be heated to 100c before it will start steaming and adding moisture to the cook, that water in the can did nothing for your cook. Cheers for using the beer timer mate.
Another great video 👍 which I will give a go . So far I have tried the lamb cutlets, loin lamb chops, lamb koftas, dim sims, chicken smash burger’s , crispy chicken burger’s and the family and I have enjoyed everyone. Got them fooled I’m a good cook . Just a question on which ambient temp probe would you recommend also quick temp thermometer . Cheers keep the videos coming.
They aren't fooled mate, you are a great cook Cmack Cmack. I tend to use Thermapens for instant read and Thermoworks smoke x4 for ambient temp probe. I don't know if they have a seller in Oz, I was sent one to review from the states. I know a few lads who use Inkbird and like them 🍻
Hi Iggy nor they are black nitrile gloves, there is a link in the description in the video for Australian residents. If out of Australia, just search black nitrile gloves. Cheers mate.
HaHa the old double granny knot. Mate I love spinning any roast on my rotisserie. I thought being that new they are a $249 bit of kit, I'd show people this set up first. Even beyond this, doing some veggies underneath while the bird is roasting away. I fluctuate between standard roasting like this video, to spinning a whole bird on a rotisserie or using the cage when I spatchcock a chicken. All great methods, I plan to film all version and then ramp up the techniques as well.
Hi Richard Hodgson, pretty much. It is just a pointless myth. Chicken is fully cooked when it's internal temp is at 74c. Liquid needs to be at 100c before it starts to create steam, so no matter what anyone thinks, the facts are it doesn't do anything for the flavour or moisture retention for the chicken. You have effectively just warmed up a beer that you cannot drink. I say drink the beer, while the chicken is cooking 🍻
Hey Adam Kelly, cheers for the support mate. Mate of mine actually gave them to me mate. Just search Google for rub shaker and you'll get something close to you mate. 🍻
Hi N kakarla, as I put the fuel after I put the lid on I actually stated to have the vents fully open. Then as I placed the chicken into the Weber, I stated to place it directly in between the two charcoal baskets on the cooking grate. 🍻
Best roast chicken ever.......quoted the Missus !!!! not to mention it was my first real cook on the weber and followed @schueysBBQ exactly....thanks Schuey 👍👍
Gotta admit. I came for the chicken, and stayed for the butt jokes. Funny and delicious mate, greetings from Nicaragua. Land of grill-masters!
Thanks @RicardoZambrana, glad to have you here and appreciate the support mate
This guy cooks. I almost never subscribe after just one view, but I'm in. Thank you for the lesson.
Thanks @lpandy21 glad you like the content mate
Just love your humor and learning how to use the kettle properly

Good stuff
Thanks Br 🍻
I am going to do my first kettle cook ever today, and I am going to do this. So, cheers. or not if I fail
I'm sure you'll smash it out of the park @JoelConner
Hey mate, if I were to do 2 chooks at the same time, would it still be the same cook time?
Thanks @freeo7601 yes and no. The temp in the Weber will drop with double the col meat and take longer to come to temp, so get the temp a bit higher than you need it to start with and adjust. The thickness of teh bird is no bigger, so will take no longer in normal cooking temp.
How would this go in a pro q smoker
Just fine, using same temps and times as a guide @stephengresham2052
Great work Schuey. I have the same disease you do, to many ways to cook the chooks. Roti, Butterflied in the basket, or just straight up roasted. Where does one start....
100% mate, so many ways to get to the same spot and they are all delicious 😉

hi mr schuey im a friend of your daughter and i really want to cook one of these
oh you also know emily?
omg i didnt know that emilys dad had a youtube channel
Hey anna ryan, just Schueys is fine and you just need a chook and some heat and you can cook one. Good luck.
I don't have one of those roasting racks you've got the chook on, should I get one? I've just been putting my protein straight on the grill.
Arthur Stock on the cooking grate is fine, I use the roasting rack just to make it easier to move around, cheers mate.
Go you good thing. Just fired the kettle up watching your vlog now. Chicken it is.
Winner winner, chicken dinner it is then 😀
Where did you get the red mini kettle grill?
Hey Scott Ireson, I found it o Ebay USA and had it shipped here 🍻
@@SchueysBBQ OK great, yeah I got to have one of those.
What gloves did you use?
Hi Iggy nor they are black nitrile gloves, there is a link in the description in the video for Australian residents. If out of Australia, just search black nitrile gloves. Cheers mate.
@@SchueysBBQ But it doesn't say that they're heat proof, which heat proof gloves would you recommend mate?
Beer Can chicken is spot on But use a mans beer VB
If you dont know knots do lots lol. Hey Schuey do you prefer this method to rotisserie?
HaHa the old double granny knot. Mate I love spinning any roast on my rotisserie. I thought being that new they are a $249 bit of kit, I'd show people this set up first. @@SchueysBBQ fair enough the roti is a bonus , just a simple roast chook cooked this traditional way is pretty special
@@lukebenji4228 I do love the rotisserie, anything cooked on it basting away in it's own juices. Simple pleasures.
@@SchueysBBQ yeah mate theres something about that spinning thing that is just gooood
So just to clarify if Schuey. You don’t like Beer Can Chicken. Right?! 😀

You did not show the positioning of the chicken and vents properly.

Alright where did you get that little Weber grill at. I'm gonna need that for sure dude! Thanks for great the tips
Ebay USA mate, search for Teleflora Weber, they pop up from time to time. It was a promotional item No $impin In My Pimpin 🍻
where are you buddy? no cooks lately are you ok ?
You have small cans
Thanks for noticing @dave9881
Great work legend. I strongly agree that cans of beer do not belong in the chooks arse hole!
Cheers mate. This should be written as a warning on the label when buying them HaHa
