Scott, that motor is running great!! I thank you for selling it to me. I only take it out to run it a precious few times a year. I want to keep it as original as you found it!! It’s in the same condition as you sold it to me and is a show piece in my living room.😊
I BOUGHT ONE TODAY JUST LIKE IT IT LOOKS NEW I haven’t tried to start it or anything yet the guy told me he hasn’t ran it in 4 years I suppose I have it looked at make sure the seals are not dried out
I grew up running an old 18 till one day hit Anchor line on Grand dad's house boat wide open There flew the motor full throttle in about 15' Saltwater - Scrambled the power head- End of my 18hp days Next motor was 26hp Evinrude & many more since- This motor brings back memories - Sure would like to find one like yours- Thanks for video

They are such pretty motors 1958 was a banner year for OMC motor styling. I also like the 1958 Evinrude 18HP as my favorite.I have about 15 of them 1958 18H.P.S Johnsons in my collection and none look like that.I did restore one back in 1996-7 and put it away without decals being the last step after total restoration. Jump forward 23 years just half hour ago I finally put decals on my newly well slightly new old cover I painted back then,LOL.Still looks like the day I painted it as I used good DuPont auto paint. You dont find many clean motors like this one here .All boat motors are saltwater used & there are none allowed to run on our limited amount of freshwater lakes anymore. Very nice motor love these videos ......
Great motor Scott how much did you pay for that motor.Reason being I have a couple of restored 18HP( one each 1957-58HP Johnson 18, & one 1958 18HP Evinrude) and was wondering on a selling price for mine. I was thinking between $600-$800 as my three are restored & I have been collecting for years and just now want to start unloading some of them and others. I have about 30 18HP in my collection .... Thanks Glenn
