- I've finally finished the Trails in the Sky Trilogy, and what an incredible arc it is! Here's my review of a game that deserves more notoriety!

Sky 3rd is my favorite game of the series (I've played all through CS4) and Trails to Azure is number two. But this game isn't just my favorite in the series but maybe my favorite game of all time. I know a lot of Trails fans hate this one because it's missing some of the aspects from the others and they think it's more of a dungeon crawl, but the story is so good in it and the characters so well written that I never really cared.
Loved these reviews! So well put together for a smaller channel. I think 3rd was the perfect change of pace after an overpacked SC and really made me grow to love characters i couldn't stand in previous games.
Definitely subscribing as I look forward to see what else you've got in store.

I originally didn't like this due to it being on Steam, as I had to get used to using a mouse and the keyboard. However, once I hooked up my PS4 controller to it and stopped getting ambushed by enemies It wound up being so much more fun, and I was actually able to focus on the story. For some characters this is the game where they get the most development, and I feel like for the most part they did an excellent job.
I do not know how anyone plays these games with a mouse and keyboard!
Hmm... I have all my Falcom games (yep that includes all Ys games, Legend of Heroes games, Tokyo Xanadu eX+, the Zwei games, Xanadu Next, and even the little Gurumin game) as stand-alone on GOG. They work all perfectly with my Xbox controller, and it would surprise me if the PS4 controller would not work also. As I have no PS4 controller I cannot test that though...
@@jclosed2516 On PC I primarily use an Xbox controller. It's how I played the Sky Trilogy.
Just beat it on the steam deck last night and it was a great experience and controlled great. I can see it being difficult to play with a keyboard and mouse.

Never played this series. How is it should I look into it more?
Trails in the Sky FC (First Chapter) and SC (Second chapter) are on Steam. You could play those. The Cold Steel Games (1-4) are on PS4 and Steam. Those are also good starting places.
