Im deff building Gev! but imma focus on lizard tribal with straight up ping and burn and a few persist cards. I like adding an infinite more like a side wincon rather than a focus in deck.

Crafting a lizard outlaw deck to keep him from going to oppressive and it's looking like a pretty fun guy even without persist.

This is really cool. Never thought much about the persist mechanic!
This seems very strong. Am I crazy, or does this go (basically) infinite super easily?
- Assume you've managed to ping three opponents for 1 this turn.
- Assume you have a sac outlet.
- You play a 2/2 with persist. It enters as a 5/5 (3 [+1/+1] counters).
- You sac it. It enters the graveyard, sees it does not have a -1/-1 and returns to the battlefield.
- It has now entered the battlefield again, giving it the 3 [+1/+1]s again. It is now a 4/4 (?)
- Your sac outlet is now infinite.
- The creature will always be a 4/4 when repeating this process.
All gev needs is
1. Damage done
2. A persist dude
3. Sac outlet
4. Any way to deal damage from creature dying or returning

I love Gevs design, everything down to the ward cost. Oh, dont like that I'm pinging your life and want it gone? Better pay more life!
But he's also rarely a spot removal target.
I like this one! I do plan to remove the tutors for more synergy cards and card draw because I don't like the time taken to search library. I also feel like the more tutors in a deck, the more it just feels samey every time
Please do more of these! Missing the 5 dollar decks tho XD!

Is it just me or does this set have a lot of cheap CMC legendary creatures? Like they are trying to subtily speed up edh games. Cheap commander, cheap spells but with worthwhile (power crept) card text..
A lot of the lower cmc Legendaries also seem to have lower to the ground effects, making them more vulnerable to things like Fatal Push, or are decks that burn out quickly to board wipes. I'd say the best low cmc is Kitsa as he's very good at comboing off.
Alania isn't cheap at 5 mana and her effect is quite powerful, nor is Wick or Kastral. Glarb and Helga are in a weird spot, both being tri color and whose strategies are more focused on higher cmc cards.

It's said budget, then I go to buy the cards and it's coming out to 65-80 bucks so not really budget anymore especially when the video says a third of the price
I've, sadly, found this to extremely common with most 'budget' decks. They're described as like $20-$50, when it's actually closer to $80-$100+; and that's before considering shipping and whether the cards for it are even available. And yes, I know proxies are a thing; but any decently quality ones are going to cost money, and low quality ones can be difficult to read even when you get then right if the card has a lot of text on it.
In EU it's 20€ here 40~€ with shipping. It's budget depending on your location
