Forest Maze Theme Goes METAL (Super Mario RPG Guitar Remake)

- Super Mario RPG comes out for the Nintendo Switch this Friday (a remake of Legend of the Seven Stars from the Super Nintendo), and with all of the reviews dropping today I figured it was a great time to do a metal remix of one of the best gaming songs ever.
The OST for this game is legendary, and I can't wait to hear all of the soundtrack remakes when it finally releases.
This song is called Forest Maze (Beware the Forest's Mushrooms) and was originally composed by Yoko Shimomura, Koji Kondo, and Nobuo Uematsu
.
All of the guitars, bass and drums in this version were either played or programmed by me (except in the 2nd loop where I have the original playing faintly in the background to add dynamics). The Guitar is an Ernie Ball MusicMan Majesty-7, and I used JST Misha Mansoor for all of the tones.

I like it! How do you decide what song you want to cover? The ones you chose translate nice into this format.
Glad you liked it :) If I hear a catchy song in an upcoming game I just try to picture how that song would sound with the main melody on a guitar and some double kick drums in the background, and if I think it will sound good I just get to work at my desk programming some drums and learning the guitar parts until I have something I’m happy with
