He made most of his plays with a torn pec as well. He also had a few advantages as well because the last team he played for before retiring was with the Rams, so he was familiar with many of the people on the defense. He also mentioned that he talked to his wife about it, and she told him that "if anyone could do it, you can do it". He played well against the 49ers as well, leading them in tackles.

He also talked about how he wanted to do it because he didn’t wanna live life regretting like if he could’ve or stuff

When they brought Weddle out of retirement, I wasn't that surprised to be honest. He's more than just a player, he is a full-on baller who kept in shape for a moment like this.

@@Ramsoholic I love his interview with rich eisen. Highly recommend it. His final quote was great. Can't remember it word by word but it was something like "hopefully this inspires others who aren't sure they could do it to take a chance cause I wasn't even sure I could and look at me now I'm a superbowl champion"

Weddle didn't just play, he was calling the defensive calls and adjustments on the field.

Eric Weddle is the reason the Rams were in the SuperBowl. If it weren't for him, the Rams wouldn't have shut down the 49ers running game, and wouldn't have won the game in the playoffs.

His payday was only half the playoff and SB shares. So Weddle was playing for very little by NFL standards but a good year’s salary by regular working people’s salary. He kept himself in shape well enough to get back out there at safety, so that’s saying a lot for retired guy. Ultimately, he loves the game, and wanted the chance to win an SB ring. Fantastic Morris made the call ! Tremendous it worked out so well ! Rams SB champs!

An all time amazing sports story. Weddle played that high level after not practicing or playing for 2 years. And doing it on several days notice before the first playoff game. Great football mind, great player, great teammate. Definitely made a huge impact. Well deserved, Eric! Come back and coach.
    Go Rams!!!

How amazing is it, on the couch in January, playing rec league basketball, comes out in a weeks notice out of retirement, after two seasons without playing, gets quickly acclimated in a new system under a new coordinator (his last DC was Wade) leads the team in tackles in the NFCC, suffers a torn pec in the first quarter of the SB and still led the team in tackles with one arm and he ended up leading leading the team in tackles during the whole playoff run. Just amazing.

Great analysis. He played every snap during the NFC Championship and Super Bowl. Unreal! He did say he was glad he didn’t have to play a lot of snaps in his first game back, “might’ve torn his ACL and hamstring”

He made a lot of plays in run support around the line of scrimmage. I watched him at Chargers and Ravens, he was more of a strong safety than free safety. Always a good tackler. Great move by Snead and McVay. That's why everybody tries to raid the front office and the coaching staff.

Weddle played well against the Bucs, 49ers & Bengals.. His tackling and hitting is something the Rams weren't doing well. A couple of his hits in Tampa could be heard in Orlando. Raheem Morris deserves plenty of credit as well.
