So what Dean is saying here is that it’s completely okay to screw teams that don’t play in Primetime or the Playoffs. That’s bull crap. Every team deserves a fair shot, at ALL times. You can’t get to playoffs or the superbowl if you’re getting screwed on the way. This dudes logic is so corrupt, it’s no wonder why officiating in the NFL is so bad. If a team gets screwed in 2, 1 o’clock games and ends up 8-9, instead of 10-7, and misses the playoffs, according to Dean, and the NFL that’s totally fine and okay. What a crock of sh**. Let’s treat ever team the same and fair. No more of this “it’s okay to screw this team, but not this team”. I’ll remind people this guy used to be the NFL head of officiating. Just listen to him, and you’ll understand why the NFL has so many issue with officiating. Allot of what he said here is unacceptable.

NFL wants rules and reffing to be as vague and "open to interpretation" as possible so they can cook games. Who knows how much of the betting sites the NFL owners hold collectively? I mean they can own up to 5% per individual with 32 teams... Wouldn't be surprised to learn that some sportsbook are majority owned by NFL owners.

You should have asked him what the rationale is behind the total lack of repercussions for the New Orleans DL that obviously tried to injure Herbert's knee several seconds after he'd released the ball. No suspension, no fine, no disincentive for any marginal player not to go after a superstar on a team that you're worried about meeting in the playoffs.

The referee interviews are interesting. And maybe should be weekly. Also architects that design stadiums. And equipment and uniform designers.

Rugby has officiating right in terms of transparency. The officials are mic’d up and you hear their discussions in real time. They don’t get every call right, but you at least have an understanding of what the thought process

lets not forget that the only reason pi being challengable did not work was al riveron and his cronies being too stubborn and proud to accept the concept, acting like petulant children and just denying every single challenge, whether it was actually pi or not did not matter in the slightest
blaming it on coaches challenging everything and it becoming tikitak is revisionist history

Bengals got a first down on a play that the receiver didn’t get to the marker or complete the catch …Stop with the BS !

Or the NFL officials could just get it right the first time. The UFL’s officiating gets it right

Nothings gonna change. If anything I expect this issue to get worse, not better. The NFL has had the same problem for a decade, ever since the refs went on strike. It’s continuously gotten worse since then. Unless the refs are truly held accountable, nothing will get better. Replay is fine, but it doesn’t make the referees actually good at the job they do. The referees are horrible at their job. NFL refs are most likely the worst at their job, out of any job in the world. Nobody is as bad at their job as NFL referees are, well, except maybe engineers. Those guys suck to. But at least engineers have an excuse, they are developing new ideas, and inventions. The refs have no excuse for how lowly they are.
