I never knew how much work went into a snowboard. I'm not even mad about the price anymore.
Most snowboards arent produced like this. The prices on a lot of mass produced boards/skies is still pretty ridiciolus.
Yeah, man. These are handmade boards! Do you think all Burton and such boards are made this way? C'mon.
By the time they have finish this board, a company like Burton has produced about 10,000 boards...
Ah ah! exactly the same for me!! now i can understand why the price are so expensive !!
Same here
Same lol
Each board is literally a piece of art! Thanks for sharing. Very insightful.
My dad's a carpenter and I've never really got into the craft but watching this gives me the urge to start learning. Really cool vid guys
hahaha that floor jack press is so legit
One of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen.
Thanks!
Bro I think it's the best satisfying video I've seen... Never thought there was so much job and equipment needed to a piece like this one...
This is so satisfying to watch
By far the coolest snowboard video I've seen on RUclips!
Hear, hear.
ASMR snowboard making
I just made my own custom board in this very workshop yesterday! Amazing stuff by the DOUK Snow. Time to check out to see if it rides as good as it looks!
This is crazy. Respect
That's a work of art. Well done!
Thank you. I was able to make my own thanks to this video.
Damn, that was bad ass, i miss snowboarding!
Sincerely, thank you.

Awesome !
Fantastic!

This was very satisfying to watch... I can't wait til I get into the snowboard industry!

Looks like quality ride
I want to build one now. this video makes it look too easy lol
Great work, nice video!
Can somebody send me a link about any video or description about making these graphics in details (materials, printer types, how to transfer etc)? I'm particularly interested in the process which allows you to show the wood at some spots (wooden core wakeboards with transparent spots in the graphics).
Thanks!
Hey!
I'm a to be carpenter, and i find this so utterly amazing!
Can you tell me the details please?
Is the core made out of ash? What kind of epoxi did you use? Is that blue wood only for decorating, or is that something special? What kind of plastic did you use? Can I change the plastic to ash veneer? The steel edge protector goes only to the plastic parts?
Did you use epoxi on the fiberglass layers too?
If you could answer me theese questions I'd be very thankful and happy!
Thank you, best regards,
Erik.
I made my own snowboard, so I know a bit from all of the research it took. The core is commonly made out of poplar and cherry because of their desirable flex characteristics. The blue "wood' is actually a plastic sidewall. You can read more about it here theskimonster.com/blog/posts/sidewall-vs-cap-construction/. The plastic is P-tex, and the steel edge is put between the base and core, but fiberglass runs between the edge and core. They use epoxy for the fiberglass also.
the graphic print and printed on which paper?
@@GLopez-yg9gj how did your snowboard turn out? I'm considering trying the same.
@@GLopez-yg9gj vaow amazing info

What’s the piece of paper with the metal around it for? I see him layering some fiber glass on it and then the wood core and then a 2nd later of fiberglass on top of the wood core. I don’t understand what happened to the paper with metal around it after that or what it’s for?
snowboard bases have metal outlines so you can carve into the snow easier and also to protect the board from chipping
what is the graphic made with/out of and how is it bonded to the board? is it just printed out of a vinyl printer then stuck on?
Looks like the douk factory. They are a company in Europe that make high quality custom boards. A production modle costs about 550 euros a completly custom board he quoted me at 800 nice group of guys i hope one day to be able to afford a custom board from douk! Awsome group of guys
I've been snowboarding for about 7 years now and I'm trying to build one for a school project. How is the p-tex base added? Is it part of the press or does it get put on after like wax? Where could someone buying in low quantities get it or a suitable substitute? Thanks for your help
Hi i wanted to ask, what are those handles you have stuck to the board when you are waxing the bottom. Our service crew could really use them! Love the video
This is the sexiest video I've watched all year
Hello, thank you for your great video. But my question is, did you use one piece of wood or two pieces of wood, one for the top and one for the bottom?
It's not other mothership does it. And I think they're the top manufacturer including over Burton
What is the bottom layer of the board and can it be applied after production? I think I bought a second hand board without the poly layer on the bottom.
wow.
good afternoon. and where to buy metal edging and zakladnyy in the United States. also PVC plastic which is pasted around the wooden base,??. if you give an answer I will be very grateful
Hey this might be a lot but could you make a video with all of the things and tools you would need to create a board
Thanks
what a poetry...
sool10 what a englishs
Is that how every board is made? There has to be a way to mass produce them
This is just how we make them, other companies will use cnc machines, and cad/cam set ups. But we think this is cooler
@@DoukSnowUK would you consider doing a training if I want to build my own?
I feel ever more bad when i chip my board now
Great video. What kind of dog is that?
If you could do a vid about your press that would be legit!
what materials i need to build ???
What is the underside material?
Nice vid. But how do you make the underside of the board ? 🏂
Bushtrail Freedom It’s just printed p Tex board
How do i know where to start drilling the mounting holes? What measurements should i use?
Robert Vasquez whatever you feel like, have fun!
Hi everyone,
I am carrying out a project about the Life Cycle Assesment and Process based cost model of snowboarding manufacturing considering some different materials and techniques. Does anyone have an idea of how long does it takes to manufacture a snowboard like the one they do in the video ? I will extremely appreciate your help.
Best regards.
how do the profiles stay together?
How do you make the base the color or print you want?
That’s a great question.
Piece of cake...
All that beautiful and hard work put into this board to get destroyed while waiting for the lifts by skiers during its first use :
How do you find the binding nuts after laminating the whole board? I mean how do you know where to drill exactly?
Benjamin I think there will be a slight indentation on the surface where each insert is.
Calum Spencer I think you're right. You could probably feel them through the print layer; maybe he feels them first, aligns those dots, and glues it?
What’s the name of the printer which can print the deck and base 🙆🏼♀️

lol everything sounds gooey
How much would one of those costume made boards run a person for?
C0okies for fun They'll even let you make your own.
woodprix is full of awesome tips. Very helpful to me. Thanks
I think this might be my religion now.
So much work for a fucking table
Nice hobby, my friend Gustav Fischnaller was doing this in the 70's so what's new? I was building hand made snowboards on Vashon Island in the 90's so what's new?
Im sure you can build it too guys. Just look for Woodprix page
I don't think that much work goes into my Jones ultimate mountain board
Snowboards are a lot of work. That's why they are expensive I guess.
3:26 is there a hole in the Tail/Nose ?? if yes - wow. high quality
Why does this feel like a comedy vid just because it doesnt have background music
Everything was perfect, except...
He sanded across the grain.
Yeah by the looks of it he has no idea what he is doing... Except maybe thats where glue or fiberglass bonded (excellent observation i should watch the video again)
Good to see that the woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
Information what I have is that woodprix is a scam and copying other's drawings

Нихерашечки себе....
Can I have a job? PLEADSE??? :-)
So much waste material created, this kinda feels wrong. Awesome to see all the steps though, really skilled work
Certaines grandes marques devrait prendre exemple et faire plus attention. Recevoir des planches voilées ça fait un peu chier !!
Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.
fuck it i'll just buy one
There are projects on how to do this on the Stodoys website.
I was gonna give this a thumbs up but it's at 666
Sick 🤢
that's not how you make a snowboard
Just watched another video that was really poorly done that used a lot of your footage with a horrible voiceover. A knockoff “How It’s Made”
Horrible
