Some people try to police everything, including locs, a hairstyle that consists of you letting your hair do what it wants. Their standard is not your standard. A lot of people who have locs do not retwist at all, or if they bother, once or twice a year.
Tell them to mind their business.

Agree sis my adult kids come over and ask me do i need to get my hair retwist that they dont like the fuzzy look 😂 so i tell them maybe you have entered wrong door ..i do my own hair and i dont like neatly styling of my roots this is just who i am😂

Yes, you did catch me tonight, didnt you? 😁 I didnt know you work at night time. Do you have a new job? I miss working at night, well, in the evening. I come alive in the evening. That's why I record, edit and post my videos at night.
You're, right! My locs don't look unkempt. I told her, that I didnt mind my locs looking like this and I don't need a retwist. Some people are into to super neat locs, with the crispy parts. For me, and you already know this, I wanted more freedom with my locs. Like you say, I'll retwist them when I'm ready. Have a good night at work. 😊

@@NeziNappsakaNezi Nope, same job for almost a decade. Just that C@#$%-# put a hold on ALOT of projects which were all recently approved to be pushed to get done asap (no complaints, more hourly wage OT for me 😄). Working nights is the best since barely anyone around in Downtown Chicago, it's surprisingly quiet. As for your locs needing to be retwist they really don't need it at this time. They are fine just the way the are & I don't see anything wrong with them. As the saying goes everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just that their opinion on this was rightfully trashed. 💁🏾‍♀️🗑

😂😂😂Nezi you are hilarious. But its hard to believe its been 3 years loc'd. Your locs are looking nice and healthy, and have really grown. Your hair is 3c at the front and crown, and 4a in the back, which probably why it took your hair longer to fully loc

Ikr? Time is just flying by. They have grown, alot. Year 2, is when my hair started to drop really low and grow really fast. You are right about my hair texture, causing my hair not to lock as fast. It's not super-duper kinky. Wendy, my friend who recently died, had super-duper kinky hair. Back around, 2003 or 2004, I convinced her to cut out her damaged relaxer and lock her hair. I told her that if she did, her hair would be fully locked within 6 months and it did. She had the perfect texture for locs. They had grown so long down her back. She felt so beautiful. She loved them until she got sick and had to start getting cancer treatments back in 2014; they fell out. One day, hopefully, all of my curly tips will seal. Who knows? Maybe they won't. They may just stay open like many other people. I'm fine, either way. I love my curly tips. 🙃

Thank you! I know that feeling of not wanting to blow dry or not sitting under the dryer. This morning, after getting out of the shower, I towel dried my hair, threw on my clothes, hopped in my hot vehicle, let down my windows, opened up my sunroof and drove real fast down the highway. My hair was 90 percent dry bout time I got to work. 😅 Well, it's 4:50 am. It's about time for you to wake up. Good night! I'm going back to sleep. 😴

I could have gone a few more days, but I had the energy today. Loving the humidity. My hair reacts so well to humid weather. I am not supposed to be up north.LOL

I think because I played in my garden, showered and shampooed my hair b4 going to work. I was 10 minutes late when I got there, but I was not cranky like I normally be. 😅 Our hair loves the humidity.

Heeeyyyy Nezi! Your locs are BEAUTIFUL! I am 1 1/2 years braidloc'd. I interlock my own hair & try to retie between 2-3 months. I love my frizz & my full roots. From my research for locs, its best to go as long as possible between reties. Just be sure to keep your locs separated until you are ready. I have small (not micro) locs. I was not a good candidate for microlocs due to alopecia struggles dealing with PCOS. My hair is doing well, though. They are not mature yet. They appear mature but have not fully budded all the way down my shaft yet. I love how juicy your locs grow. Did you experience any shedding during the budding phase? I know everyone's journey is different so I am still trusting the process. 💥😎

No, I didn't experience any shedding throughout the budding stage or my journey. I do have a little breakage in the crown, but it's in the same area, when I was a loose natural. I need to spray my protein treatment in it, to strengthen it.
Thanks, for your compliment and sharing a little bit of your journey.😊 I love braid locs. Although, they take a long time to lock and lose their braid pattern, they always have a beautiful look to them, once they are fully mature. I admire that you know how to interlock your own locs. You sound like you are doing a great job with the management/maintenance of them, too. You're right about the separation. Imma go through them, today, to separate, moisturize and seal. Then, within the next 2 weeks or so, imma retwist them. 😊
