Stay away from Glacier. Too many people for how small the park itself is takes away from enjoying the park.
With a day permit are you allowed to camp at Whitney Portal Campground the day before
Yeah reserve a campsite at Whitney Portal Campground. Its .8 mile to from Whitney portal TH and TH parking. You can do on website. Its advised to me to leave something at your campsite to show its taken.
Yes but you have to reserve it seperately. Some folks sleep in their cars in the parking lot the night before as well.
So if you reserve a campsite for say 6/1/2024 would my permit for mt Whitney be for 6/2/2024?

I applied for 2 people for the last 2 weeks of September overnight dates from M-F & was denied all my dates.
You still have a chance when they release the unclaimed permits
@@Hikingguy update I applied again for the overnight & won also I applied for just the day hike & won that also. I'm going turn down the day hike & keep the overnight. Great video information that you put out.
