Ok , here we go. It's all your FAULT!! Valentina. Yes you heard it right. Now I have to redo my entire home all because of you. Of course I am ever so thankful for your videos. 🙏For years I felt there was something wrong with me. Coming home from work was not the "homecoming" I looked for. I couldn't put my finger on it, but the whole apartment made me, dare I say it, yes depressed.! Old fashioned, out of touch.
And then by a bolt of lightning there was you suddenly popping up on my computer and I don't know how fast I hit the subscribe ALL button and started binge watching all your fantastic beautiful videos. Your feel and knowledge for style is just something to envy. Style cannot be learned, you eighter have it or you don't and you definitely have it! If I had the money I would hire you in an instance, but for now I am totally happy with all your beautiful, very professional videos. The fact that you upload all the colors, products, clothing, jewelry you use in every videos is amazing. I am a 73 year young Dutch woman, living in Florida and you brought me back to life. I am going to overhaul my whole apartment , in fact I am already doing it. I am getting rid of the old and start living again in the now! BTW, you have a very handsome husband and above all he is so supportive. God should have made more of them. Love you guys❤❤❤

This is 100% my style!! I have always LOVED black and white ever since I was in high school and I am 51! Until finding your channel and IG I had no idea how to transform my home using my love of black and white! I have been on a mission for the past 4 months and just within the past month since finding you! I have painted my entire downstairs...all rooms are white and our TV/fireplace wall is Cracked Pepper!! I am IN LOVE!! I have ordered some of your art recommendations for my wall, ordered the marble coffee table. I FINALLY am loving my home and I am going to keep on going. A new light and black ceiling fan have arrived and are ready to be installed in our kitchen and den! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing!! I am OBSESSED!!

This is not my personal style, but the video had so many great ideas to begin building my own home and personal style. I loved the idea of having key words to define the space you want when buying items for your home. So far my keywords would be: classic, timeless, updated oldworld, charm. Saving this video to refer back to. Thank you Valentina! 😘

  • @lorraine1443
    @lorraine1443 Год назад +11

Valentina, you are right about the "noise"--the trendy distractions. They look SO good in catalogs and stores, that a newbie can be sidelined by the latest colors and styles. Thinking about "classic" design is definitely a helpful strategy. Maybe this is one of your most useful videos. Especially for someone starting out. It is a "Classic" video :-) I would add that this style (when thinking about palette), can even take a bit more of a traditional flair and still have a timeless quality. The palette really is EVERYTHING, and then quality, texture and intention is next.

Love this one. We are doing a remodel on a 1979 ranch house in Fla and you have inspired me so much on the direction I’m taking on the design. The whole house has pine walls we took some out to enlarge MB. Budget did not allow for all the walls to be removed but they match the vaulted ceiling in the family room with a massive full wall stone FP. I know I can take your ideas and make this feel like an organic modern ranch house. Hope to share pictures when done because with out your inspiration it would have looked so different. Thank you 🙏🏻💕 and told the husband none of our current furniture is going with us ( except the mattress)

You are always fun to watch and I’m drawn to your enthusiasm! Classics are always a great choice. I do love aspects of this style. One drawback, for me, is I want to feel a sense of location and its climate and history. Most styles that are dubbed modern feel timeless in a un anchored way. Also the over abundance of white feels like glare to me.
Our little struggle is we moved from a 1907 Craftsman house with many small rooms to a modern mid 90’s house with roughly the same square footage but larger rooms. We have many pieces that are smaller where the space might be better with a larger single piece. I’m loath to sell it all just for style. Maybe eventually. But it would be expensive.

The old british style is classic timeless elegant style for me, and so warm and cozy. No offense, but I could not live in a black and white home. I love the modern luxe style. I’m in rehab right now from the glam, blingy, rhinestone, glitter, etc 😳😳 🤣🤣. Your channel has really helped. I hear your voice when I’m shopping saying. ‘Oh no, don’t do it” lol. I want a modern, cozy, luxe/glam style that is also inviting. This has been extremely challenging for multiple reasons. The main reason being. It has to be apartment friendly. I do plan to eventually purchase a home. But in the mean time I still want to come home and be happy.
I’ve completely changed my style over the year because it wasn’t bringing me peace. I’ve been making a lot of purchases lately (I’m pretty much replacing everything) and it’s overwhelming to stay forced on my style, stay within my budget and try to keep it minimalist (kinda, I know smh)
I’ve been binge watching your content. However, I really don’t see you touching on renter friendly options. I know about most of the renter friendly options like wireless lighting, diy art, vinyl over carpet, wallpaper, etc. But with the limitations of a rental and the small space. The creativity has to be on another level. Help please 😳😳😳
Btw, I purchased a light gray sectional. I know how you feel about that. But I love it, it’s very high quality and modern, cozy, etc. I’m not going to do the gray on gray. I promise lol-

We have a dog who does not do bad for any belongings to others or us, but in general, people avoid putting things on the floor when they see dog. Do you all keep them on the couch or specific places are prepared? I don’t like people placing their purses on the table where we eat. I was raised that is rude things to do… Thanks V! V- Have you tried percale cotton sheets instead of sateen cotton weave? I've only heard you suggest sateen, so I thought I'd ask. In my experience, percale cotton weave is crisper and launders and wears much better. Sateen seems to pill more and turns softer, whereas percale stays a bit more like new and crisp (if that makes sense). If you don't have any percale sheets, just try a set and see.
In terms of materials or style and pattern, I'm very monochromatic as you are as well. To add a bit of texture or pattern, I've been lusting after the burlwood patterns that have been around lately! A good piece made of a solid wood IS crazy expensive but timeless and gorgeous, IMO. And would work well in a room to add a little "something" to my default of blacks and ivory/cream palette.

Thank you so much for the key words Valentina. It'll make life so much better when buying things for my place. the only problem is We have asthmatics in the house & the drs have said no carpets or rugs. What can I do instead to bring the look all together please?

I appreciate your videos. They prompt me to evaluate what I've been neglecting in my home. I have been taking a look at all of my older and sun-aged window coverings. We have mostly east and west facing windows. So much sun damage! I have dupioni silk curtains in my living room that has seen better days. I ordered new, less bold window coverings and I hope they look great with my existing furniture. Looking at older paint in rooms is what's next and determining how to get it all painted is my next mission. I do know my style. It works in my existing home. But sometimes I still wish I could live in a mid century modern home with black and white furnishings.

I like this style a lot - I was always surprised when I came across your channel that you had recommended many of the things I had just purchased - I trend more towards Organic Modern/Japandi - but there is significant crossover. I use a lot less black, but I DO use it - but I use more pops of color strategically, and a lot more green - like walking through a forest with wildflowers...

    Hi Valentina ❤
I love your videos and I share the taste of a beautiful modern luxury house. I live in Atlanta as well in the suburban area. My house is 20 years old I bought it when it was brand new , I love the layout, but I got stuck in time and is time to a decor update 🙌🏼. I follow you in LTK, all your mood boards are my inspiration but I have a problem I have champagne taste and beer money 😅 Any advice …?

If you could do a video on how to accessorize a small powder room in the modern lux style. I’m struggling so much. I painted the walls in one of the color white from your palette. My vanity is dark wood. I’m struggling with pictures, accessories on the shelf behind the toilet.
