  • Today we are work on cleaning up the inside of RamCharger and install some Kilmat. I am using a 80mil Kilmat to keep the noise down in the truck(and it is amazing now). It was a lot of work but I will say that it is much better now!! I can not wait to show you all what the interior looks like now with the new carpet and seats, but you all will have to wait for that!!
    As always, I hope you all enjoyed the video. And don’t forget to Like, Comment, and Subscribe!!!!

    Saturday March 16, 2024. Came back to this vid to look at the work you have put into this Ram Charger, good job and the explanation. I know now that you have moved and are considering selling this vehicle, I don't know about that, you have done excellent work to this Ram, beautiful truck. Keep up the great content Austin, yes I know life has changed for you and your wife and time constraints to providing us the viewers is bit limited right now. But I encourage you to keep up the channel, your patient style is highly appreciated and applauded, Thank you Austin.

    Glad to see you are impressed with the sound of good tunes after / during your Kilmat install. I'm always blown away by folks who put in super loud exhaust systems, which not only annoys most folks outside the car, but make listening to tunes a waste of time. There's nothing better than cruising down the highway with your favorite tunes cranked up on a decent system. I hope you try it on your way to Mike's.

    I Have done mine as well. I went cheap and used duct wrap with adhesive backing. Still works good. I also Spray foamed my ceiling.((CAUTION: IF ANY ONE ATTEMTS TO DO THIS, YOU NEED TO DRILL VENT HOLES EVERY 6 INCHES)) Reason being, it would not dry in pockets, and will eventually swell the roof. No worries after drilling holes that eased up, but one hole was like puncturing a new can. It Sprayed out all over me and floor and seat, It cleaned up

    *Back in the mid 90s I saw a competitors brand of this product (Dynamat) installed in my friend's car and was super impressed! My friend completely covered the interior of his car with it and it made a tremendous difference in containing the sound from his huge boom boom sound system.*

      It's no so much containing the sound, It's more about making a quieter environment for the sound.

    • @austincarr5441
      @austincarr5441  Год назад +1

      I feel like they do but to my knowledge the place that is most likely going to allow fumes into the RC is the 4X4 shifting boot area

      My best advice would be to join the dodge RamCharger and Plymouth Trailduster group on Facebook and ask the great people on there. Some of the AC stuff can be purchased through rock auto, but I have heard of at least one person having issues with that product

    Love your project car I am on a 79 Ramcharger corporation are you running fuel injected??

  • @The_Painter31
    @The_Painter31 2 года назад +1

    So how much did you spend on mat versus having everything sprayed by a pro with Line-X?

    • @austincarr5441
      @austincarr5441  2 года назад

      Total for the Kilamat was about $160 and the foil tape for two rolls was $14. The last time I had linex done was back in 2014 and it cost $350(cash) for a ford ranger bed and running boards. As for current prices, I would not know.

  • @Kaliiscute

    One more QQ: is there a way to mount a spare tire to the back of door? I have 35 inch tires and obviously a spare won't fit in the back. My gas gauge doesn't work either lol. I want to get that fixed but it seems like a common issue. 🤦🏾‍♀️

    • @austincarr5441
      @austincarr5441  Год назад +1

      For the spare tire most people will get a spare tire holder that mounts to the bumper or hitch. I have seen a few put onto a roof rack as well. The older RCs had the swing out style tire carrier like a jeep but they stopped doing that in the late 70's I believe. It was a common rust spot and not strong enough for oversize tires. I strongly recommend against a rear door mounted tire carrier as the rear door is fiberglass and they are known for cracking at the hinges
      As for the fuel gauges, I just fixed mine this past weekend and it ended up being chewed threw wires at the gas tank. it could be aground issue too. I've heard that can be the cause to that problem.

    • @Kaliiscute
      @Kaliiscute Год назад +1

      @@austincarr5441 I want to avoid the roof because I'm already at 7ft in height and barely fit in garages as it is. Lol but I will look into your other suggestions. Thank you!!
