    Thanks for the pattern and the video!
    I tried making a mock up yesterday and it works great! It was surprisingly fast and easy to make these!
    I have to add like 10cm to each side panel for a better fit on my body, but thats easily done.

    I get that ; perhaps a placard with the written instructions, instead? It's the best Thai pants pattern on RUclips--it would be even better if it was understandable.

    I noticed that the leg sections of the front and back panels are two different widths. Is this correct? I think there is a 2 cm difference. One side is 9.5 cm, the other is 11.5 cm.

    Good day! Why do we make a A to * seam? Can I cut one detail by connecting parts of patter together and than seam it to "leg tubes" and waist detail??

    • @SaltyDIY
      @SaltyDIY  4 года назад +1

      hi there ! you can totally do that :) the seam is there to make it easy to fold the pants up for tying.

    Hi, thanks for sharing your pattern. May I clarify with you that there are actually THREE panels which form the bottom. 2 side panels + 1 middle panel?

    • @SaltyDIY
      @SaltyDIY  4 года назад

      yup, that is correct :)

    • @SaltyDIY
      @SaltyDIY  4 года назад +3

      oh wait, the bottom of the pants is made of 2 side panels and 2 middle panels ( one for the front and back ). The middle panel is made up of 2 pcs which you can join it up with a seam or just stick the pattern together and cut it out as a single pc. sorry if i confused you with my previous reply, brain not fully functioning today :)

    Hello ! SO many thanks for your explainations ! Do you know how to alter your pattern for a kid version (12 years old)? Do we alter the middle part or only the legs and waistband ? Thanks

    • @SaltyDIY
      @SaltyDIY  6 лет назад

      Hi there Alister ! i don't think you have to alter the pattern. the pattern is free size and you can adjust the waist by wrapping around the body. i would alter the pattern if the kid is less than 100-ish cm tall. hope that helps !

    Thanks for this pattern. I had to add 9.25 inches on each side panel. But it still made a great pair of shorts. Next I will make the pants. Again thanks for the pattern and inspiration.

      Fabric is scarce and expensive so I bought a King size black flat sheet. Enough to make two types of shorts. Your pattern and harem pants made from a measure piece of square cloth.

    • @SaltyDIY
      @SaltyDIY  4 года назад

      That's a good idea, no worries on quality :) Fabric here is not expensive , but sometimes can get color runs.

    Did you happen to remember how much fabric you used for the long pants?

    • @SaltyDIY
      @SaltyDIY  6 лет назад +2

      it's 3 meters of 60" wide fabric :) happy sewing !

  • @alahreecakes

    Nice pants but as an instructional video it's hard work. Too fast, overly edited which means you miss key steps and some of the pointing just makes no sense. Had to keep pausing and going back to make sense of it. Going to give it a go with some cheap fabric first.

    Hello. Love this excellent pattern/guide. I am partway through making a pair. So far so good. Are the pieces at ruclips.net/video/S_gx-Ou3MXI/видео.html right sides together? Thanks.

    best music ever! however I could make these pants far easier. I have the ability to get any complicated design and knock it back to the basics and end up with things like what I'm wearing now: a shirt that is literally 2 pieces of fabric. even with full length sleeves. I could so these pants in 2 parts.
