BLACKPINK is the biggest girl group of all time, with 307 music awards, it is the most awarded girl group in all history and this past July 4, 2023 they were the main artists at the HYDE PARK festival in London with 65k tickets sold (sold out), being the first kpop act to headline the festival in all of history, the amazing thing is that they only have 38 songs and 7 years of music career.

No "Animation" brother, BlackPink is known for their music videos in which they 'NEVER' use "green screen" (except for 2 scenes in their entire history of M/Vs). So many of us were excited when teasers for this song came out and they said it was sampling La Campanella, and I'm glad it ties the whole track tgt and makes it what it is - bc sometimes the samplings I hear are tacked on, sometimes a working part of a song, sometimes not.
Shut Down is the official title track of their latest album Born Pink; prior to that they had a pre released single called Pink Venom. When you've watched more of their M/Vs, you REALLY need to come back to this, if you like details - this entire M/V is made up of references to their previous M/Vs, people they've worked with (the posters), self references, in jokes, etc. Estimates for this M/V, from some with experience in productions, is around US$5M, partly because of all the re-creations that had to be done.
The whole thing is a "Shutdown" of those who think they're 'past it' and no longer THE best, with the slamming doors meaning that's what they've already done! The lift up to the next level, with all the prestine walls and storage doors, a warning that there is a lot more still to come from them and they' re a long way from being finished.

Them sets are mostly real brother 😂, I mean the scene where ROSE (the one with blond hair) sat on BLACKPINK colored globe was indeed having some CGI elements into it but that's only it, and for the rest of the scenes they actually doing practical sets instead of using green screen or such things 🤞

great reaction!! but i wouldn’t really recommend shutdown as the first music video of blackpink to watch. they put a lot of reference from the old MVs so it’s best if shut down is the last one to react to and not the first.

i think it's best to react chronological then when you get to this song you'll get context more meaning of each the song that teddy wrote. it's like a story with each of the songs, its like a continuation. you can see how the girls evolve in the last 7 years and with the song choices that they choose. sometimes the lyrics has 2-3 meanings that they are trying to say. if you like detail on the MV look really close it also tells a story of its own too.
