BLACKPINK is the biggest girl group of all time, with 305 musical awards, it is the most awarded girl group in all history and this past July 4, 2023 they were the main artists at the HYDE PARK festival in London with 65k tickets sold (sold out), being the first kpop act to headline the festival in all of history, the amazing thing is that they only have 38 songs and 7 years of music career.
BTS is K-Pop. Some Army might like to think they are genre of their own, but that's delusional. Blackpink is also K-Pop, and Kill This Love is not about the hurt involved with love but killing toxic love, toxic romantic relationships.
Great reaction. The song is NOT about love in general, it is about needing to end a TOXIC self destructive love affair. If you are really interested in finding out about the Freudian concepts and Greek Mythology infused throughout the video you should watch "British Priest Reacts to Kill This Love" where they go deep into interpreting the significant symbolism that has been intentionally planted in this music video. Later when you watch "How You Like That" it is layered with Greek Mythology and in the RUclips video "British Priest Reacts to How You Like That" a Cambridge University graduate in Greek Classism (yep, the one in England) goes scene by scene explaining the symbolism depicted. In that mv each member depicts a different daughter of Zeus that experiences horrific situations and are victimized at the beginning of the mv only to be reborn in the end as the mythical Furies avenging their victimization at the end. It is one big FU to all their haters, and they have many. Not all Blackpink mv's go this deep, but some are often referencing deep meanings and commentary on such things as Kpop Idols being driven to suicide by hateful social media/netizen attacks (Jisoo falling scene in "DDu Du DDu Du", another mv that is one big FU to their haters). Anyway, you don't need to know all this to enjoy their mv's, but the depth is there and it is intellectually satisfying.
blackpink are really only the "female bts" in terms of popularity. their styles of music are often very different from each other and their lyrical content is also often different. blackpink often talks about female empowerment, while bts often talks about loving and finding oneself. they're both fantastic groups and almost every kpop stan starts with one of these two groups.
@@rdmname LOL...pretending to lose respect when you don't have any respect for their achievements in the first place...you're just a plain hater pretending to be objective..."pave the way" is something Blackpink could rightly claim but that doesn't mean they're the only ones to do that...people like you are just too insecure to be affected by words in a song...take it easy, take a breath.

BlackPink are Kpop (which is more an industry than a genre), but I think World or Global pop better describes them. Also, they all speak English with varying levels of fluency (Jisoo, who grew up entirely in South Korean is a little shyer when speaking English, but Rosé is Australian, Jennie spent part of childhood in NZ, & Lisa is Thai & Tri-lingual). They’re definitely the most popular globally, but Kpop has so many amazing girl groups (Red Velvet, Twice, Dreamcatcher, Aespa, (G)I-DLE, etc). Kpop is a fun & addictive musical journey. Also, they seem generally more lenient on reactions.
BLACKPINK's current world tour is already the largest by a girl group globally, it has already exceeded 220 million dollars and has already doubled the tour of the SPICE GIRLS who had the record with 78.2 million dollars, the incredible thing is that BLACKPINK still has 18 dates left so they will easily reach 300 million dollars.
BLACKPINK was the first kpop act to sing at COACHELLA in 2019 (in that year he participated as a supporting artist) and their performance was so successful in this 2023 BLACKPINK was invited as the main artist at COACHELLA (first kpop act to headline COACHELLA in the whole history) and its 2 presentations in 2023 were so successful that they were watched by 500 million people live on RUclips live, a historical record for the festival. the best thing is that BLACKPINK will also be the headlining artist in LONDON HYDE PARK music festival 2023 and will also be the first kpop act to headline the festival in all of history.
Just to clarify the meaning of the song, which can be looked at as a "relationship-ending" song, but whose message is really about being introspective and changing yourself for the better. If you watch the four girls and read what they're talking about, they are each describing the reason why they get into toxic relationships. They realize that they must "KILL" this sort of behavior in order to have a healthier relationship. Jennie, on the black and white swans, discusses yin/yang, she feels that in order to have happiness there must always be sadness, and she knows that she is destined to repeat her mistake. Lisa, the "cereal killer" (sorry, couldn't resist) believes in quantity over quality. She wants it all, even though love to her is a short, sweet sugar high that leaves her feeling empty and needing more. Jisoo, in the church, realizes that she is weak, her stronger future self destroys her with a flaming arrow. And Rosé, driving the car, also causes her own destruction, running herself down in the road, the license plate on her car reads "EGO".

Yes, Blackpink is K-pop. And so is BTS. Don’t listen to the toxic fans. Yes, both groups have grown beyond just being K-pop groups, but they’re still K-pop groups. Also, I would recommend not ever mentioning both groups in the same reaction. There are a lot of toxic ‘fans’ that love to get nasty when the two groups are compared. I’ve been listening to K-pop since 1996, and Blackpink is my favorite group so far, but there are quite a few that are good as well.
How about listening to their executive producer, Teddy Park? Pretty certain that you watched the documentary so forward to part where he states without reservation that they are Korean pop, not Kpop. I’d love to hear about another girl band that is remotely similar to them stylistically and music wise. I’m not a toxic fan. I’m just stating objective fact, not opinion.
@schubiie I fully hear you, but OP did mention BP and BTS in the same sentence that you did not. Just curious to see how or if your comment varies within such parameters. (Not trying to be combative.)
in 2022 TIME magazine listed BLACKPINK as ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR 2022, and is the first girl group on the planet to headline the cover of the magazine.
It is best to (right after watching the MV) watch the Making of the MV and Behind the Scenes of the MV and Blackpink reacting to the MV as their are many hidden meanings and messages in Blackpink videos. This one is about being to weak to be able to break free from toxic relationships therefore they have to kill off the weaker versions of themselves (Rose' runs over herself in a car and Jisoo shoots her weaker self with a flaming arrow). Remember that ALL Blackpink songs and videos have dual (sometimes multiple) meanings and hidden messages.
I am old school rock 'n' roll play music for many years. BLACKPINK is one of my top top favorites. It's their personalities, their presents, black, pink house, etc. etc. they are so much fun I have not stopped smiling since I discovered them
The song is more about the toxic relationship that they are in and that they need to kill the part of themselves that clings on to that relationship. Part of the lyrics talks about them being weak and turning a blind eye to how bad the relationship is for their well being. They must "kill" this love to free themselves from trying to go back to the person that causes them so much pain. Or at least that was how I interpret the song but I know that there are other people that will interpret it differently.
THE thing is BLACKPINK is so huge with only 58 songs, while other k-pop groups have like 200-300 songs still BLACKPINK has their hands on the top, the biggest girl group flex.
Many of the BLACKPINK Guides are overly long, I'd recommend BLACKPINK: JOURNEY AND FRIENDSHIP ruclips.net/video/y8lal1cBHmM/видео.html which covers their difficult training and delayed debut, how they depend on each other and their love for their fans (called BLINKS, which is the word BLACKPINK smushed together)
I loved the reaction ❤❤❤❤, the music video It's soo cool, you should react to ddu Du It's their most viewed music video, and changed kpop, and the visuals are all built sets
With Blackpink you found a legendary Group, please keep reacting to them it is totally worth it !! By the way, they don´t use greenscreens (very very rarely at least) loved your reaction, keep going like that.
If you want to dive more into kpop girl groups, another really great one is Dreamcatcher. They are known for having a lot of rock influences in their songs . Some of their songs I recommend (though they are all very good) are Deja Vu, Boca, and Bon Voyage.

BTS is K-Pop. Hardcore fans may say different, but it's all Korean Pop, which has multiple genres within it. But BTS is the biggest boyband, yes. BLACKPINK is definitely great. So much good Korean music out there. So glad you've entered the world of Korean music. THANK YOU! :D
BTS and BlackPink are both kpop groups but reaching out western music by making Full English songs and the genres they make are leaning towards the pop and hip hop genre instead of being kpop itself.
So you have... Jennie, on the swans, Korean. Born in S Korea. Main rapper, Lead vocalist. Lisa, w the braids, Thai. Born and raised in Thailand. Main dancer, Lead rapper, Sub vocalist. Jisoo, Korean. Born and raised in S Korea. Visual, Lead vocalist. Rosè, blonde, Korean. Born in New Zealand but grew up in Australia. Has an aussie accent. Main vocalist, Lead dancer. Main is higher ranked than lead.
BP may be the most known international but they thank that for a big part on their company's money and influence. No, I'm not hating but just stating fact. I'm curious what Bite-Size Reactions will think when he discovers Mamamoo. A group known for having 4 vocalists, with 3 of them being better at it than any of the BP members, and all 4 having success as soloist, for years with multiple releases, while still being in a successful and active group. Unlike BP, Mamamoo is like BTS, coming from a small company so unlike BP didn't have massive money to make them famous before they even released a single song. They had to work themselves into the limelight by pure talent. On top of it, they actually are all about empowering, and not just women but the LGTBQ+, and not just in their songs. Oh and the rapper of Mamamoo is the woman with the most writing lyric credits (KOMCA) of all female artists of all generations. I've even seen people hilariously claim that proof that BP is fantastic is that they only have a very limited discography. The only thing that proves is that the members/company are less about singing and performing but more about advertisement deals, getting on billboards and magazines.
My KPop Group Trifecta... SHInee, Mamamoo, BlackPink. Soloists... IU, and Kim Se-Jeong(who is an Huge IU fan girl LoL), both of whom are Very good actresses as well. Sejeong is the Reason I got into KPop They headlined Coachella 2023 Paul Tollet personally invited the group(again), this time to HEADLINE Coachella in 2023... They are the FIRST KPop artists to Ever HEADLINE Coachella. The First time the were invited to Coachella In 2019, BLACKPINK was invited to perform at Coachella by co-founder Paul Tollet(who flew to Korea to do it), making history by becoming the first-ever K-pop girl group to perform at the music festival. It was BlackPinks FIRST US tour date ever. Jisoo was Very Sick, having back issues and it was hard for her to move... And they were reciently at the BST Hyde Park(July 2)
I understand its because you are new to this so its fine , but please dont compare groups to each other the fans wont appreciate you calling blackpink "the female version of BTS" , or "i wonder if they dance like BTS" Kpop is korean pop music , so mainly any korean artist who sings pop songs is considered kpop , a lot of the groups have a vocals and rappers and can dance and a lot of them have their own sound.
love seeing you react to kpop nick! hasn't been my area of kpop so far but I'll keep my hopes up for the future (whispers 'gfriend' and 'infinite'). for me blackpink are successors of 2ne1, so you might be interested in checking them out (e.g. 'I am the best') in comparison. obviously blackpink have evolved the sound and reached even greater heights of global interest. also at the risk of getting annoying replies, bts is kpop...
So many women who are murdered by their husbands/boyfriends stayed in those relationships because of LOVE. The big trap shows the sharp teeth that can trap and destroy you. If you love an abuser, gotta kill that love before it kills you. Love is necessary for a good relationship but NOT a reason to stay in a bad relationship.
For a better outlook on kpop girl groups, I would recommend checking out groups like TWICE or Red Velvet, or even Girls Generation (older group and older sound, but still nice). BP is more of a.... kpop but appeasing to the west. They have their merits, but not a good representation of kpop girl groups.
I. Ant wait for you to do more Blackpink! I’ve been watching your movie reactions since the beginning and I’m so glad you got into BTS and BP! Both respectively the best boy group and girl group in the world. How you like that, playing with fire, pink venom, shut down and Duddu duddu are some of the more popular and in your face songs!
The "BTS" is a genre unto themselves" is totally created by their fandom, trying to create their own reality. While fans from the last few years argue that both BLACKPINK and BTS are not K-Pop and "K-Pop is not a genre", it is. They are just not happy with the moniker as most Westerners hear the term "K-Pop" and involuntarliy cringe, picturing cute girls all wearing the same outfits singing sugary pop music. I will say, however, that in my opinion, BLACKPINK may have more of a "World Music" sound, as much of their newer music has more English (some songs are all English), they have a large amount of hiphop and EDM and some songs have music/instruments that are Indian and Middle Eastern inspired. On top of that three of the four members are fluent English speakers which sounds more natural to the Western ear. Jennie (on the swans in the beginning) spent five years in New Zealand where she learned English. Lisa, kicking in the door in the cereal room is Thai, not S. Korean, and grew up in Thailand where English is spoken. Main Vocalist Rosé (the blonde girl crying and driving) is actually a New Zealander who grew up in Australia, she has a killer Aussie accent!
Great Reaction. I recommend listening to another kpop band called Stray Kids! They are 8 guys who make very good music. I recommend God's Menu or S-Class, new follower!
BP has been at the top for almost ten years.... way better than BTS. Unfortunately, BP has been infected with (c)rap, but I watch because they can actually sing.
Kpop is just music made from Korean labels. Kpop is not one thing or one style. Both BTS and BlackPink is Kpop. The trades of Kpop is many years of training and skills in singing and dancing and rapping. Girls is an OTS (Original Sound Track) for there mobile game that they released not that long ago. It's a good song and Lisa goes off in that but not the best video since it's an animated cartoon thing. It's cute but not top when it comes to videos., cute as it is. For black pink videos: DU DUU DU DUU How you like that Pink venom Shot down. There are many more but those are a good start. There are a total of 33 blackpink songs in total. not all have videos. Then there are some solos and colaps and specials and covers but for pure Blackpink songs there are only 33 They have many sides and styles. No bad songs IMO.
BTS is K-Pop. But if you want you can make a genre about every group in the world. First time it happened with Rock-Music. Don't know how many Rock-Genres now exist.Seems anybody can create a new genre. What a stupidity to press music into drawers.
KPOP, is a bad way to explain Korean Music. Unlike the Western market, there is pop, rock, hip hop, rap, country, hard rock, alternative, etc etc, so many. in Korea, there only 2 types of music, Traditional, which date before 1899, roughly. but it stretches into the 2020s and then KPOP, which is Western influenced Korean Music. All genre fit uncomfortably into this one category, including folk and trot. (my best explanation, watching the 1920 Disney movies, the style of music they used with snow white, when the elves march and sing) So what is KPOP, but Korean Popular Music why not just call it Popular Music or POP, as the K is just Korean, why not call it APOP for American Pop, or GPOP for German POP. I would say most groups are pop music, BTS, Twice, Girls Generation, etc while BlackPink, Stray Kids is closer to Hip Hop /Rap many groups jump into and all round every genre, so you can not just pick one genre. Thus KPOP is all genres Most of the older groups, sing in mainly Korean language, while the generation 2-3 (2003-2017) groups mix it up with Korean and English. I have seen some generation 4 (2018-present) groups starting to put out more all English songs, hoping the music pleases the Western Market. G-Idle - I DO, 50-50 Cupid, and so many more. BlackPink did this also, with the last 2 album, more than half the album is all English and the rest a Korean english mix.
I'm 58 and completely love BLACKPINK!

Hey, I just found this great. I love this reaction
And you know? Blackpink is the biggest girl group in the world 🔥
BTS is K-Pop. Hardcore fans may say different, but it's all Korean Pop, which has multiple genres within it. But BTS is the biggest boyband, yes. BLACKPINK is definitely great. So much good Korean music out there. So glad you've entered the world of Korean music. THANK YOU! :D
Yay love these reactions. They’re great!
the biggest girl group in the world and the MOST SUBSCRIBED ARTIST on youtube
This is not K-pop, this is Blackpink!
BLACKPINK QUEEN OF KPOP 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yaasssss! More kpop! EXO, Ateez, g-idle (love you Yuqi!!!), tri.be, wooahhh!
Bts and blackpink are both kpop 👍
blackpink is icon girl kpop Queen's 🎉
Sejeong is the Reason I got into KPop
They headlined Coachella 2023
Paul Tollet personally invited the group(again), this time to HEADLINE Coachella in 2023...
Welcome BLINKS to be…😊
bp has multiple genres
You should reaction to their Solos Solo by Jennie,Money by lisa,On the Ground by Rose and Flower by Jisoo
I'm sorry but BLACKPINK is BLACKPINK they have their own identity, they made their own name, so they're not female version of BTS.
I understand its because you are new to this so its fine , but please dont compare groups to each other
the fans wont appreciate you calling blackpink "the female version of BTS" , or "i wonder if they dance like BTS"
Kpop is korean pop music , so mainly any korean artist who sings pop songs is considered kpop , a lot of the groups have a vocals and rappers and can dance and a lot of them have their own sound.
since u react to films and music u could do light up the sky!!!!!
Tysm for reacting. Also react to their "Shut Down" Official M/V and Live at Coachella 2023 please.
Blackpink 😍
서울에서 응원해요 블핑 좋아요!
You would love straykids music
love seeing you react to kpop nick! hasn't been my area of kpop so far but I'll keep my hopes up for the future (whispers 'gfriend' and 'infinite'). for me blackpink are successors of 2ne1, so you might be interested in checking them out (e.g.
I love Blackpink!! You need to react to Stray kids too 🔥
This is english? my 1st time
I just return the cosmos trip after building pyramid.
pls react blackpink 'duu du duu'
For a better outlook on kpop girl groups, I would recommend checking out groups like TWICE or Red Velvet, or even Girls Generation (older group and older sound, but still nice). BP is more of a.... kpop but appeasing to the west. They have their merits, but not a good representation of kpop girl groups.
Qveens of k pop 🖤💗👑️
💯 👍🏻
fun fact: this MV was banned on koran's TV cause Rosé wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
can you react to blackpink ddu du ddu du?
if you could please react to shut down music video or the coacella performance they were the headliners this year

Hey! Please react to Aespa "Better things" is a kpop group and they are killing it
유튜버 화면이 많은 영감을 주네요.
need you to react to somi, she’s a kpop soloist
Great Reaction. I recommend listening to another kpop band called Stray Kids! They are 8 guys who make very good music. I recommend God's Menu or S-Class, new follower!
BP has been at the top for almost ten years.... way better than BTS. Unfortunately, BP has been infected with (c)rap, but I watch because they can actually sing.
Please check gidle tomboy
100 blackpink
Kpop is just music made from Korean labels. Kpop is not one thing or one style. Both BTS and BlackPink is Kpop. The trades of Kpop is many years of training and skills in singing and dancing and rapping. Girls is an OTS (Original Sound Track) for there mobile game that they released not that long ago. It's a good song and Lisa goes off in that but not the best video since it's an animated cartoon thing. It's cute but not top when it comes to videos., cute as it is. For black pink videos:
DU DUU DU DUU
How you like that
Pink venom
Shot down.
There are many more but those are a good start. There are a total of 33 blackpink songs in total. not all have videos. Then there are some solos and colaps and specials and covers but for pure Blackpink songs there are only 33
They have many sides and styles. No bad songs IMO.
BORN PINK ALBUM
BTS is K-Pop. But if you want you can make a genre about every group in the world.
First time it happened with Rock-Music. Don't know how many Rock-Genres now exist.Seems anybody can create a new genre.
What a stupidity to press music into drawers.
Plz reaction Japanese girl group xg puppet show 🙏
Plzzz react more on bts songs i am really waiting for it
Kpop stans can be dululu, take us with a grain of salt.
Oh and BTS is NOT a different genre, what a great example of how dululu we can get.
BTS fans are extra it’s kpop
BlackPink is K-Pop becauseof the company they work for. Think of K-Pop as Hollywood, and BTS as an indy artist.
This is not true at all 😂 BTS and BP are K-pop...K-pop is not because of the company they work for...BTS is under hybe too..
BTS is and always will be KPop. I'm tired of people acting like KPop is beneath them.
KPOP, is a bad way to explain Korean Music.
Unlike the Western market, there is pop, rock, hip hop, rap, country, hard rock, alternative, etc etc, so many.
in Korea, there only 2 types of music, Traditional, which date before 1899, roughly. but it stretches into the 2020s
and then KPOP, which is Western influenced Korean Music. All genre fit uncomfortably into this one category, including folk and trot. (my best explanation, watching the 1920 Disney movies, the style of music they used with snow white, when the elves march and sing)
So what is KPOP, but Korean Popular Music
why not just call it Popular Music or POP, as the K is just Korean, why not call it APOP for American Pop, or GPOP for German POP.
I would say most groups are pop music, BTS, Twice, Girls Generation, etc while BlackPink, Stray Kids is closer to Hip Hop /Rap
many groups jump into and all round every genre, so you can not just pick one genre. Thus KPOP is all genres
Most of the older groups, sing in mainly Korean language, while the generation 2-3 (2003-2017) groups mix it up with Korean and English.
그동안 모하고 살앗냐?
