In this case the specimens may be worth more as is. However, there could be more gold in the pieces that isnt seen that could be worth more recovered by crushing to powder. In a nutshell, its hard to say.
you got any advice for detecting in quartzsite? i went last week and couldnt find anything! i was on a steep hill with tons of quartz float but found nothing =(
Join a prospecting club and go out where nobody else will go. Roadrunner has a lot of claims and area. If you Join LDMA club you can go on all GPAA claims also
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK I tried working the hill right behind the truck stops on the interstate exit cuz half of it isn’t claimed. The bigger mountain ranges didn’t let me go as far due to ground clearance in a low car
Yup quartz always gets my attention! Down at Greater ville maybe 10 years ago...old gold camps that saw several heyday but we found these Volkswagen sized quartz extrusion that had been flow at one time, and someone had dug down about 6 feet all the way around it...I jumped down with a 30X loop and the whole thing was loaded with tiny salt sized round globes of gold! If you had a small hammer mill, the kind with lawnmower engine and short tow chain for "hammers" and a hammer drill with lots of batteries I think you could get nice gold...not to mention what if there were larger globules inside!? Still nice gold there but we lost two elderly friends one weekend, murdered by illegals for their stuff...they were in their 60's and enjoying retirement hobby. Morel here: always wear handguns and don't be bashful in using them! Generally if they see you wearing guns just set up trip alarms at night like strings of sleigh bells on spider wire fishing line (can't see it at night, flashlight won't make it shine) in square around camp 50 yards out, two feet off ground.
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK Hey Adam you and W. Boulderdash need to stay on your own side and area! No in your words that was Epic, great video but not enough of them lately. Probably bc you guys are kicking Arss 👍

Question for the big specimen you found, do you break it up or is it more valuable in it's natural state? Great video as always!
