- CHP CADET RUN TO THE CAPITOL | THE TRADITION CONTINUES
Today 106 CHP Cadets of Cadet Training Class VI-23 participated in their Graduation Run, a customary event for each cadet training class, starting from the CHP Academy and ending at the California Peace Officers Memorial next to the State Capitol.
This Academy class had the honor of being lead by CHP Commissioner Duryee throughout their 5-mile journey, receiving unwavering support and encouragement from family and friends as they raced towards this significant milestone.
Friday’s graduation ceremony will mark their official badge presentation, as they transition into the newest Officers of the California Highway Patrol.

Don’t waste your time on getting the degree right now, you only need a HS diploma and waiting even just that one - two years will make a huge difference on your retirement and seniority. You can always go back to school later. You don’t want to be working till your 60
@@kaglaneq1 I’m planning to finish my degree as I only have two years left. But I have been thinking about just taking my AA and applying. I’m only 19 turning 20 soon (1 week). It’s been food for thought for the past few months as I prepare to transfer.
@@Jay-kc5cr apply as soon as you can, it’s a long process if you apply when you’re 20 you’ll likely set yourself up right to turn 21 before finishing the academy. And be able to go right into working.
Congratulations to the newest CHP Officers! I myself am a Greek citizen moving to California very soon with a degree in hopes of becoming a CHP Officer too!
