There is another origin about the centaurs. Zeus was always wandering when he could mate with Aphrodite but couldnt, in one on these ocasion he saw her, he "relieved" himself on the ground, but turn out the precense of Gaia was still in the earth, and a centaur was born. Would be cool if someone write how the hierarchy of Centaurs was; those sons of Cronos, Zeus and Ixion.

This is actually true. Here are the sources.
      Nonnus, Dionysiaca 5. 611 ff (trans. Rouse) (Greek epic C5th A.D.) :
"Not so wild his [Zeus'] desire had been for Kypris (Cypris) [Aphrodite], when craving but not attaining he scattered his seed on the ground, and shot out the hot foam of love self-sown, where in the fruitful land horned Kypros (Cyprus) flourished the two-coloured generation of wild creatures with horns (Pheres) [i.e. Kentauroi (Centaurs)]."
      Nonnus, Dionysiaca 14. 193 ff :
"[Rheia summoned rustic divinities to join the army of Dionysos for his campaign against the Indians :] Another tribe of twiform Kentauroi (Centaurs) was ready, the Kyprioi (Cyprian). One when Kypris (Cypris) [Aphrodite] fled like the wind from the pursuit of her lascivious father [Zeus], that she might not see an unhallowed bedfellow in her own begetter, Zeus the Father gave up the chase and left the union unattempted, because unwilling Aphrodite was too fast and he could not catch her: instead of the Kyprian's bed, he dropt on the ground the love-shower of seed from the generative plow. Gaia (Gaea, the Earth) received Kronion's (Cronion's) fruitful dew, and shot up a strange-looking horned generation."
      Nonnus, Dionysiaca 32. 65 ff :
"I [Zeus] desired the Paphian [Aphrodite], for whose sake I dropt seed in the furrow of the plowland and begat the Kentauroi (Centaurs)."

In my opinion it's possible that the centaurs were mythologized versions of the nomadic indo europeans that migrated half a millennium before Mycenaean culture flourished. Especially Since the indo Europeans had a sky god called dyeus which may be an origin of zeus. The pairing between the king of lapas and the cloud goddess as well as the story between cronis and felera may be how the indo Europeans and nearly neolithic humans culture began to merch with the Indo Europeans tellingsa more peaceful story to explain integration with the local neolithic farmers hinting that Zeus as both their common ancestor. Meanwhile another story showing a more violent story hinting of a forceful take over likely drawn upon by angry nomadic farmers that remained. It may also explain why their isn't any depiction of female centaurs until much later. Indo Europeans nomads were almost entirely consistent of males and came by chariots and already knew how to make bronze tools and used bows and arrows in their assaults.

ixion you should have really tried to win over the goddess Hera instead of being blunt to get her he should have tried offering his service to the Gods willing to do anything for them so he could always stay there( and that's remember Zeus loves his ego he and his worship) and he should have tried getting Aphrodite on his side or at least she would like him enough so as a favor she can let him have one of her son magic arrows and the funny thing is she wouldn't need the context on who it's for😅

@wildmen5025 oh I don't think she would have a help ixion get with Hera that's why I said he should have offered his services to the Gods taking any tasks they wanted
Aphrodite would not have helped him but would have possibly giving him an arrow from Eros because of his service to the Gods biggest even Aphrodite can take pity on people or answer faithful servants the Gods
( but just make sure you always honor her for that gift because if you don't she's very vengeful😅 and extremely Petty)

Dante should have put the Centaurs to guard not the Phlegethon, the Blood River of Violence, but to guard the Styx, the Poison River of Envy (not Wrath, that definitely goes with Heresy) and Sloth.

If you're doing a video about Greek mythology, you need to call the greatest hero "Heracles.". You especially should NOT use Heracles and Hercules interchangeably

    • @SeeUinHistory
      @SeeUinHistory  10 месяцев назад +1

Actually, no. Most of our audience only knows him as Hercules, and interchanging the names is a way of expanding knowledge about the two translations (Hercules/Heracles).
If you look at other videos, we do this with several other gods and characters who are known by different names.

    • @deanalvarado9751

I disagree. Using the names interchangably makes it confusing as to whether you're talking about the same character or not. If you want to make it familiar, then stay with the more familiar name
