I find it hilarious that one person said your home isn’t “home-y” enough ie: “Too minimal” and another commenter said it wasn’t minimalist at all... I loved that cabinet in the spare room! And I think it’s a GREAT idea to keep cleaning solution in each room. Thanks for uploading.

I'm glad I found this! So perfectly lovely and inspiring. We have 3 young children in a 950 sq foot apartment. We downsized from a larger house with garages and a basement. Now that we're settling into our smaller home I'm finding myself purging things again. Your home is my favorite I've seen and will be coming back for inspiration as I work on this process. Thank you! We would love to downsize more too. we have a huge garage on our property that we really don't need and I would love to move into a 2 bedroom house so we could buy a camper and travel more.
I love kids books and reading is such a great way to have some quiet time with my two loud and busy boy's. Minimalism has shown me you don't need to have hundreds of books too. They love to read their top 5 over and over again and enjoy going to the local library. Having the toys in the closet is great too, especially for my five year old who likes to hop out of bed and play at night when he should be sleeping!

I know this is the total opposite philosophy of minimal thinking but I would love to know where you purchased the decorative plate in the bedroom, the rug in the living room. Also the boy's shelving in their bedroom and the wood shelf in the bathroom. I love your pink bath so much, I hope you don't change it :)

The rug is from www.briscoes.co.nz and the boys shelf and the bathroom shelf are from www.thewarehouse.co.nz. I love the pink bath too....most of the time but I think the bathroom is the first room I would love to renovate :)

Thanks Debra! I store most of my fruit in the fridge and potatoes/onions etc in what we call the 'secret cupboard' it's the cupboard above my sink. It has a vent going to the outside so it seems to be the perfect temperature for vegetables.

Hi Linda, yes our living room and kitchen are the most used rooms in our house. We have a small wooden fold out table that slides under our couch for when we need something for drinks etc. We like to keep the middle of the room clear so the boys can play in there too :) Thanks so much for your lovely comment!
We added a small u-shaped table (from Pier One). The bottom of the u slides under the sofa, the table top slides over the low arm of the sofa. I'd considered something like your solution, but it seems we always have a cup of coffee or a glass of water. We'd just end up keeping it up all the time anyway.
I adore your home and I'd like to know how I could have that metal protective shield on the wall behind your kitchen sink. Never seen something like it before in Greece or Italy. Is it something you had it made for your sink or something you can order or buy and place it? Love the way the colour of your floor and walls looks like in the morning light, wish I could see how it is in the evening with the artificial light on! +Francesca Sakellaridi Thanks so much Francesca! The metal around the sink is an original feature from when the house was built. They are quite common in old houses here in New Zealand and they make it so easy to clean around the sink. I'm not sure if they are still available now.
