Dude the new skips climbing up that wall in the beginning. An the little jump for the last key level 2 so sick!!!!! And you for robbed with body blocks on 2!!!
What the hell kinda shoes did you put on your Turok hahhaa mine would have slipped and had a broken leg like when you defeat the campaigner with the minigun glitch 😂
I highly doubt I'll ever attend a GDQ event to run Turok, the sheer scale alone gives me serious anxiety just thinking about it. *Maybe* couch but that's still pushing it.
The remaster has a hidden mechanic, internally referred to as a "super arrow". If you pull a regular, non-tek arrow and fire it after 1.4 to 2.1 seconds, it will one-shot most non-boss, non-metal enemies (the Level 7 plants and worms and the Level 8 crabs are exceptions to this) . There's a visual cue associated with it, that cue being a small glint that runs along the arrow head if you draw the arrow while standing still. If I recall correctly, you can't see this glint while moving but it obviously still works, you just need to learn the timing of it.
@@LoggSmiddYT Ah! Thanks for sharing. I noticed this happened to a demon lord a short time later, too. Do you get the sense this is an intended mechanic, or more like a bug? Does the remastered game have the ability to choose to fire standard arrows even if they have tek arrows, or do they need to be out of tek arrows?
@@hatmonkey3103 It's 100% intended, there's dedicated code for checking the draw time of an arrow, giving a super arrow if released during that period and a list of enemies it affects and doesn't affect. As for the second question, no unfortunately the remaster doesn't have any kind of ammo-switching mechanic, meaning during a run we have to dump tek arrows before a one-shot section comes up or else it won't work.
Dying on the same frame as thunder while you have 0 lives will cause the game to play the thunder death cutscene, tal'sets death cutscene and the game over screen at the same time. However, after killing thunder, you get warped out of the arena before the game has a chance to send you back to the title screen. This causes you to respawn in the pre-campaigner map with negative health, putting you in a state called zombie mode. Most enemies will just ignore you as they are programmed to not target you once your health reaches 0. This is why campaigner just stands there menacingly while we wail on him. It's not necessarily faster to do this but it prevents campaigner from dodging rockets and shots during the fight, making it 100% consistent.
Nah this movement speed is completely legit. Older patches of the game allowed framerates to go above 60, which caused you to move faster as long as you stayed above that value. Combine that with strafe-running and you can fuckin' fly around the place.
Console versions of the game are using the most recent patch, which locks the framerate to 60fps. That, combined with strafe-running not functioning as well on controller versus keyboard, is the reason why playing on console is slower than on PC using older patches.

Fuuuuu for real that shit had me rolling. I clicked instantly 😂
@@theyreoutthere.huntinggear Thumbnail killed me, too. 🤣
1:00 LOL at the guy throwing the grenade that whiffs by in the cinematic
I’ve never speedrun Turok but those platform quick jumps look hard AF.
Campaigner was like "Dude, you got eaten by my pet T-Rex and survived. I am not even gonna bother"

Using the game over screen to softlock the final boss himself bcz he thinks the game is over. Who had thought that this bug was hidden in the game :D
Wow, TOTALLY didn't see this one coming....totally.
One of the hardest games on the siddy. Respect
New wr?! You just keep improving and improving 🥹
skeptic this run has gone downhill so fast that I cannot stop, please help D:
Can't wait to see the new strats
I love your thumbnail and channel icon
wow, this is totally insane.
Right On!!! Have I been playing a different Turok. I don’t remember any of this.
Great run dude.
Turnbok: Monkey Hunter. Turoks dumber little brother.
Amazing!

Love the thumbnail haha

Do you always run that fast? This was cool.
Assuming it’s something to do with both directions at once, It just doesn’t seem like they’re running at an angle, maybe a pc remastered thing?
I beat turok in like 2 hours once
Can someone explain to me 1:42?
I was saying "yes" to someone in chat by moving the camera up and down since I was streaming without a microphone for this run.
@@LoggSmiddYT oh OK, I thought that was a new strategy I wasn't aware of Lol
@@MrDexter337 nah, the game hasn't reached that level of optimization yet 😅
@@LoggSmiddYT can you imagine if a new strat discovered involves you having to look up and down like that lol

AGDQ eventually?

THE DINOSAURS!
At 18:54 did he just 1-shot a triceratops with a standard arrow? How is that possible? Am I missing something here?

You died to thunder using the nuke gun but the campaigner stands there and eats rockets?

alt ???
If you're asking about why I use the alt key, I have it bound to forward and jump for use in the pillar climb I do at the start of the run.
This is fake..... No one can run in that speed in Turok.

Same dude I thought it wasn't real either. I play on Xbox and it's so fucking slow compared to this
I hate that you can't skip some parts on the Xbox version
Never understood why it wasnt a white guy instead of the savage injen they chose.
I bet you think Turok '08 is where the series peaked
I still swear that the speed runners move faster... i dont get it... even with thr strafe running it seems twice as fast on console

Thats what I figured... sucks man I love this game and I speed run it the best of my ability but I can't do half of those skips... :(
