Warthog 360 is what you’re supposed to do. It’s a weird thing with CE’s physics where if you go straight off the Hog tips forward, usually flipping you. However doing the 360 keeps the hog level
Cody Miller's Speedrun is on another category. It is 10% Legendary, 30 % heroic and 60% normal Any /% Aka the most vile and most sadistic kind of speedruns.
Typically it's 40% chance that a given flood is a reviver. However, because this one is right at the start of the level, and the fact that initial rng seed is a fixed value, If you do the exact same inputs, you get the same results. By skipping the cutscene at the correct time and just holding forward and nothing else until the flood spawns, you get a reviver every time.
Gonna guess it's some kind of hardcoded failsafe (or outright bug due to having the warthog in that zone), there's a lot of odd things leftover in the old gamecode like that for some reason.
There's a marine corpse there in that hall with same ammo etc, but the reason a nade gets thrown at that corpse is because, even if it's dead, the corpse is still "active". The explosion will make sure the allies aggro timer gets restarted again which helps on having aggro on the return with keyes at the very end so you can book it more quickly (that's the jist of it, there's a more detailed explanation for this, but that's basically why they throw a nade in that room). Shooting marines saves time, but at this point, dead marines get killed again to save even more time.
PHL gave this jist of it, but I'll go into a little more detail. At the start of the mission, we kill 4 marines with nades and 1 marine shot unwitnessed, giving us 4 points of aggro. The point system on legendary decreases 1 point every 90 seconds. Leaving us with 3 points by the end of the lift fight. We make sure to stay at 3 points by shooting a marine in the belly before getting in the wraith. This is where some funny business starts to come in. There are marine bodies by the overshield were we do quad nade. Those bodies get hit by the nades and reset the 90 second timer which is about to reduce the points to 2. We then throw another nade down the hallway to put the timer back up to 90 again, giving us a comfortable 90 seconds to get to the prison and save Keyes. We then nade a marine out of combat to get our points to 4 right after the cutscene. Then we shoot a marine as they exit the prison to get us to 5, giving us guaranteed aggro.
There's no technical reason why you couldn't do the entire thing in anniversary graphics, but a lot of objects don't line up to the collision, they don't perform as well and it's generally harder to see what you're aiming at with all the added clutter.
@@darius6112 that's another elevator. There are 4 different levels in that level. You mainly just circle around the place to reach the next elevator and go "back" on the level above
