This was and (probably) still is my favorite game, and it is most definitely the game I have the most hours logged on. Used to live on Halo PC back in the hay day of CE PC. Good times. Masterpiece of a game that is timeless.
The segmented run is done in 47 (43?) minutes, so i presume it’s humanly feasible to get 59:XX The Library is by far the most unoptimized mission in the entire game, and requires a lot of RNG to go in your favor. Carrier Bump takes off more than 40 seconds. Can’t forget how he lost a very rough 17 seconds with light bump, too. If he didn’t stuff up light bump and did carrier, he’d easily be in the mid 1:03:XX range. In TB, if you storm down the ziggurat instead of despawning the enemies, that also saves quite a bit of time, like 20 seconds i think. There’s also a super risky strat in SC that allows you to grenade stack all the way from the map room to where you leave the warthog. You can’t swing the warthog, tho, you have to crash into the door and get out at just the right time to get launched through with momentum. You then also have to enter the passenger seat through the window after the ‘nade stack. That saves, i’d presume, another 15 seconds or so. At the end of the Maw, there’s another extremely risky strat that Kronos was able to pull off in the segmented run where you can send yourself flying to the longsword with the rocket launcher. There’s probably way more IL strats that aren’t used in full game runs that i don’t know about, too. The hardlight bridge in Halo can be completely skipped with two _very_ precise grenade timings, which shaves off quite a bit of time. Then, of course, there’s the PoA teleports, rather, an extension to the first OTB teleport.
Nice to see some competition in CE. I thought garish would never get knocked from the throne. I would love to see some new strats be discovered and get the time below 60 minutes.

@@tetee6789 Also Banshee grab on AotCR, on Easy and Normal there is no banshee. Banshee grab saves a lot of time and is significantly easier and more consistent than bridge jump.

It’s been a while since this record was set but I’m hoping Garish is able to break it in the near future. Now that he has actual competition in this category hopefully it motivates him to speed run more seriously again
Can anyone explain why he shoots the marines so they turn on him? I'm sure it's speed related, but it seems counter-productive to give yourself more enemies.
The fact that the Legendary and Easy WRs for this game are only 11 seconds apart really shows how different the speedruns are between the two difficulties Makes me wonder how Normal and Heroic look, but there’s no leaderboards for either
Impossible with some of the runs. No way of doing the assault on the control room with having the banshee land the way it did. Dropping down the mountain yes, but stealing the banshee is a no. Same goes for the two betrayals mission. Impossible!

Why does the cutscene count?
Part of the game, Bungie made them unskippable, so they're counted. No point saying the run took 4 minutes less to do than it actually did.
