I live in Cedar Rapids. My son has recently gotten into skating, and knowing a little about boards from hanging out with skaters as a teenager, I took him to our local skate shop. I had no Idea who this guy was, but he really impressed me. He had this glowing personality with ultra high energy. Normally, I get turned away from that, but hearing his passion of skateboarding was quite welcoming. Now seeing a bit of his history as well, I just want everyone to know how truly awesome Nate Sherwood is. I don't know how she spells it, but lindsey was great too.
I'm glad they're still doing well, continue to support em all you can!

Cool vid. I'm glad I watched. Funny how many of the best skaters are so introverted, humble, genuine, yet the youngsters and young adults who supposedly dedicate their lives to emulate them are so often shallow and insecure.
Such a humble down to earth guy, talk to him on facebook alot, an amazing skater and a great dude.
if only his shop was in SD! inspiring video been a fan for over 5 years and never knew he had any disabilities.
I am honored to call this man my friend. Nate is one of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met (although he is extremely hyper). I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and have been helping out with his future shop called eduSKATE. He's also getting some footage in my upcoming skate video (there's even a few clips of him snowboarding). We couldn't ask for a better human to move to our city to save our skate scene. Hate him all you want, but Nate is by far the truest skateboarder of all time.

I met Nate when taking my 16 yr old nephew to the Skatepark in Cedar Rapids during Spring Break. Nate is full of life, love, and smiles! When my nephew landed a trick he was practicing, Nate came over and gave him props about it and then he hollered, "Congratuskations!" as he skated away. I will definitely visit his shop and support his business as often as I can. Thanks for reaching out and encouraging my nephew, Nate! his front foot got fucked up when he was younger and he wasn't able to use it for flip tricks, hence why he invented pressure flips. Besides, does it really matter? He can do whatever he wants.

Hey Nate, I met you at Lincoln when you were with your dad after he got that surgery. I had a project at school where I had to paint an everyday miracle so I actually took a picture of you and your dad because I thought your dad's story was perfect for the project. I didn't even know you were a well-known skater until I saw your most recent free lunch but I'm stoked that I met you man! can relate like being in a town where skateboarding isnt much accepted, while i've been outkast during my last year of junior high its till i got to my 11th grade year when tv and showed rappers doing it and once rappers do it everybody wanna give it a try

i never had much respect for nate, something about his skating kinda turned me off. but seeing how he stuck it to airspeed and showing the man that skaters arent just scum to be exploited gained my respect. props to nate. and props to being different, let it be kickflips or pressure flips, pro shoe or respect.
I met him when I got my board at his shop @ Cedar Rapids Ia. He’s the coolest dude ever.

Hi nate i need some advice i am a 45 year old skateboarder recently started skateboarding i was thinking of going to skateboard lessons one to one with goskate but it is quite expensive, i have taught myself to push and ride my board but i am trying to learn to ollie most skaters seem to just teach themselves did you just teach yourself? if i just keep teaching myself then it will save me alot of money and there is plenty of videos on You Tube these days i live in the uk....i just had skater trainers shipped over from tulsa usa yesterday to have more confidence getting my tricks down and then trying them rolling!!!! So my main question is do i need private lessons or just keep teaching myself? Thanks dude you are a cool skateboarder....

Yes, but he had a bad ankle injury in his front foot and was unable to move it properly which is why he learned to pressure flip.
